Stay in the 4th floor suite with the terrace instead of balcony. Incredibly spacious suite taking up the whole floor. There was unobstructed Stanley beach and sea view across the entire suite. There was a fully functioning and equipped kitchen for us to cook dinner and breakfast. The bathroom was incredibly well designed and captures natural light perfectly. The best part would be the terrace looking out at the vast sea view with tables and sofas to eat or relax day or night. Would highly recommend getting the terrace suite. This isn't really a hotel and more like a airbnb situation so there's no luxury hotel service (which is where its priced around.) However, the limited number of staff are incredibly friendly, helpful and flexible. They kindly arranged for the jacuzzi on the rooftop for us even though we were rather late on arrival. The pricing can be a bit on the steep side considering its not really a hotel but the terrace and the views are certainly make it worth the price. You sometimes feel like you're in the south of france or in a European beachside town on the terrace. Great choice if you're in the area or just want to get away from the busy metropolitan scene and chill by the beach.

We took our dog here for staycation at the suite. The toilet and bathtub was new, but the rest of the room was aged. There is a kitchenette too. Hotel reception is on 2/F and it looks really messy, I would encourage the hotel to clear up the area as it does not provide a good first impression to guests.

The rooms are great. The view is terrific, But all Tony and the staff seem to care about
is getting a little extra money out of you by charging extra for the most minor things. They
are constantly warning you about things you can't do. It's not like the rooms are economy priced. They are not. The staff manage to make what should be a great experience something less. Don't bother trying to get into your room a minute early or leave a moment
late. It just won't happen. They are a suspicious lot.

We booked this room a month ago, we expect to celebrate my birthday at here on 26 Dec 2020, we paid around $2100 from booking.com, we saw the pictures show with bathtub and terrace with large size of all rooms so that’s why we decide stay here, also they said they welcome to pet to stay but haven’t mention they will not provide any pet accessories for your dog. When we arrive, we stay at 3rd floor, the room is very old and dirty, also no bathtub and terrace. Their facilities are very old, I dnt think we are staying a hotel? Mainly the television is not working, they keep fixing but still not working to see TVB? I am very disappointed as we ask about the differences between the truth and at the website with the staff, he said it’s only for demonstration. We decide go back home and won’t stay at this hotel tonight. I am strongly recommend not stay at this hotel with your dog and yours vacation.

We stayed at this hotel for 6 weeks and from the first day, they were sending memos and emails and letters under the door about absurd accusations. Be careful of stains on your mattress covers or TOWELS or bath mats, they will charge you for cleaning them. What kind of hotel makes you pay for stains on TOWELS and bath mats?! If you have children, make sure you do not stay here as they will try to charge you HKD1000 for their mediocre sheets should you have washable marker stains or stains of any sort. They are just out to rip their customers off.. I have first hand experience with this hotel. Do NOT stay here! They will try to make you pay for anything they will make up or think off. Horrible hotel. Only thing good is the view and location, but for all the hassle of being ripped-off, its just not worth it at all. They are liars and cheats. Beware!

We stayed in this hotel for four weeks, which is located at Stanley Harbor.
This is the "quiet" side of Hong Kong Island. Our hotel room had a superior view of the
harbor. It is located on the promenade, with many restaurant options and near Stanley Market.
The hotel staff was friendly, helpful and very kind.

The rooms were clean, with all the amenities one would need. Small kitchenette, with glasses, cups, etc. Microwave, cook top and refrigerator.

Rate this as superior, all around.

Stayed in room 701. I really love the rooms, they are bright, airy and spacious with modern decor and open floor plan. The 2 huge glass patio doors open completely to make indoor-outdoor living where bedroom and living room just become part of the very narrow balcony. But it is really a great design. Spending time in your room is very enjoyable. The rooms are fairly well appointed, but missing some key items such as a bottle opener, corkscrew, dish soap, laundry detergent for the tiny, tiny front load washer/dryer. I've stayed in many hotels in the states with kitchens that supply all these things. They state that room service is twice weekly, but we've already had service twice in 3 days, so I expect more is coming.

I think it is a bit of a misnomer to call this a hotel. I think they call it a hotel so it shows up better in searches. Really this is an apartment building. The street level and floor above host a pizza restaurant that is pretty good. The rest of the building has the apartments that are leased out for a week at a time or longer. The larger flats each take up one entire floor of the building, so it's quite private and we cant hear any other guests at all. There is not a front desk or anything else that makes this feel like a hotel. There is a security guard roaming about who is very friendly and can assist you if you can find him, his phone number is posted. They also have a bit of a contract they want you to sign to make a reservation that is somewhat off-putting. They will put a large authorization on your credit card at time of reservation and yes it is true that they want you to pay for broken glasses, and other room items if damaged. They have a full list of the items in the room and their value.

The "hotel" is located in a small friendly expat enclave with several decent restaurants right out your door and within a block at the Stanley Plaza along with shopping both higher end and very interesting shopping at the Stanley Market. The area is a weekend tourist destination and somewhat quieter during the weekdays. Many restaurants/shops seem to be geared toward western tastes around here. Lots of cheese shops for instance, seems like the Parisians frequent this area. There are at least 2 nice beaches that you can easily walk to. If you are planning to spend lots of time in Central or areas over there, it is a bit of a commute that can get old. Traffic can be pretty jammed up on the single lane road to the city and especially in the tunnel. However there is good hiking nearby over the Twins and life in this neighborhood is quiet and relaxed and safe with children running about.

If you have a reason to be in this area, I would definitely recommend the Stanley Oriental.

I was staying there for 7 days , it cost me HKD 3600 per night without any service , I can stay way better hotel in this price ! No Servise , bed sheets only change once a week ! Management officer there is a woman talk so bad on the phone , seems i own them a lot of money ! They want to get $3600 deposit each day for nothing because there is no restaurant or min bar in the room , there is no extra change . Although for the five star world class resort they will only get 30% deposit according the room price . Dear all the traveler Don't stay in this hotel.

Rise up early and go for a walk outside the pier. At around seven you will see fisherman bringing their haul for the day and what a treat to have freshly caught fish for lunch or dinner in your room!!

I have always enjoyed staying with you at the S.O. I have been visiting there since we moved from Hong Kong, and I went back to organize my daughter's wedding seven years ago. My husband and I always enjoyed your hospitality, clean environment, beautiful acoomodations and magnificent view and location. Now, when I return by myself to visit my daughter and her family yearly....and to visit friends, my Church in Stanley and many of the merchants we have known over the years, I am greatly and warmly received! The restaurants and Clubs are all around....walks to take, ferry trips available...wonderful! I look forward to returning this FEBRUARY. Katie McDonald
