A cosy hotel situated in Cheung Chau with stunning views of the beach below. Sitting out on that balcony listening to the waves lapping gently across the sand is so tranquil and worth the stay. The room was fine, it was bright and cosy. Appreciably, It had been recently painted. It was also clean and tidy (for the most part) but the bathroom was a bit dirty in concealed places (lots of dust behind the toilet bowl) and some mould in places, but not massively an issue as it was generally fine! The bed was very comfy too and spacious. Don't expect service or a resort-type place. There wasn't even a towel in my room! But just ask if they forget like they did me. The check-in was impractical. One woman manning the entire reception desk and phone, while the queue got bigger and bigger. Eventually, another member of staff came to help so it wasn't a big issue. Staff were generally fine, they weren't unfriendly or rude. I would certainly return for the view, the balcony and the tranquility of the present quiet life in Cheung Chau.…
We stayed here because it was seemingly the only place on Cheung Chau which could provide us with a cot for our baby, which they did but that became a moot point as she had to sleep in our bed due to the Arctic-like temperature. Even beyond that, our main problems were: * appallingly bad design - guests have to walk UP a very steep slope to get to the hotel entrance and then immediately carry their bags DOWN some stairs. What? * the dirt - the upkeep of this hotel was shockingly bad. Please see photos for reference but even these barely capture the scratches, mould, stains and dust everywhere in our room. This is on top the fact that some wooden door frames looked like they were rotting. * the price - I have stayed in worse hotels, in India, Thailand and Mexico for example, but they were 1/10th or 1/15th the price. Charging $1700, even right before Chinese New Year, for one night is just criminal. * other random stuff - dampness in the room, a shower that barely worked, plugs that didn’t charge… An awful place.…

Cheung Chau is a lovely getaway from the concrete jungle that is Central, and the Warwick was just the ticket. Little island lifestyle from the comfort of a nice-enough hotel. Views are fantastic, even though I was frozen on the balcony with the laptop. Nice stroll along the beach or back to the ferry terminal, and I really enjoyed La Piazzetta for dinner - Cary is a top guy!
We stayed here one night as a staycation. Cheung Chau Island is a popular weekend destination for the locals. The package came with breakfast ( egg, sausages, toasts, tea/ coffee... very local style) and a set dinner of local seafood which was delicious. For a weekday overnight, only HK$1,280. The whole premise including the dining area was very dated. The beautiful sea view from the restaurant was blocked by the security shade which seemed to be permanently shut in fear of sudden gale wind. Nevertheless, since it is the only hotel of this scale on the island, business seems to be very secured. Given it was still in the midst of a pandemic, we got to have a sea view room. The shower was very average and the drain needed to be cleared to save from flooding. No bathtub. The in-room amenities matched the decor. The balcony seating was very tight. The sea view was fantastic. The curtains block out all lights effectively. But the aircon was super cold and there was no way to adjust the temperature. If you turn it off, the room will be too humid. The wifi was very weak. The TV has choices of only local channels. You need to walk a few stairs up the hill to get into the hotel with your luggage. It will not suit guests with accessibility issues. Nevertheless, the hotel sits above a beautiful beach and it is refreshing to chill here on Cheung Chau Island watching windsurfers having fun on the water. …
