Finally returned to Hong Kong after 3 years of Covid, first time staying in Kimberly and there’s some pros and cons. Pros: 1) the location is really good, right in between the busy district, it’s inside the alley but all around the hotel is malls and restaurants. 2) there are at least 3-4 24hours 7-11 within walking distance, one 24 hours supermarket, one 24 hours DonDonKi, there’s another supermarket inside the shopping mall nearby 3) it’s super crowded throughout the day, hence its very safe to walk back hotel and the MTR is within a 5-7 min walk 4)the Harbour City is also nearby Cons: 1) as it is located in the busy district, the crowd is another hassle, sideways are always packed with people, endless car, hard to walk and restaurants are usually packed and have to wait. 2) the hotel is rather old and in need of revamping, the double bed is way too small compare to the normal one. 3) hairdryer not working after one use, stains on the wall, shower head rusty and dirty, curtains yellowish and dusty. The pillow is also way too thin till we have to fold it into half for some thickness to sleep. 4)the walls are really thin, can consistently heard people opening door, shutting the wardrobe etc. 5) bell service staff not very friendly, deposit our luggage as it has yet to reach check in time, given a ticket for it. However when we returned, the staff asked me to go search my luggage myself and pull it out. Overall, if you prioritize location over comfort, this is suitable. If you prefer cosy and relax hotel, probably choose another one or a less busy district.

I’ve been to Hong Kong several times and have tried different hotels in different areas but mostly in Kowloon where all the food, shopping, fun and entertainment acitvities are located. As a walking city expect to have long walks in this dazzling metropolis even inside their MTR walks are not a joke. My friend suggested we booked The Kimberley which has Excellent reviews and upon looking at the map it is right there at the heart of Kowloon, HK’s culturual icon. In fact, it is walkable on most of the famous attractions, shops, restaurants and places in this island. Indeed, it was true my first impression was - Wow!! We are right in the most convenient neighbourhood in town. We are 5 mins walk away from Tsim Tsai Tsui station, a few blocks away from the stellar Nathan Road, 10 to 15 mins walk from Star Ferry and Avenue of Stars, minutes away from different shopping malls including Harbour city and everything is there right at our doorsteps you name it even my own SG bank ATM machine is just right outside the corner. We booked a Standard room via Agoda with double bed and city view and at just 50++ SGD per night it was a great deal not to let go. We didn’t have breakfast included which is fine because there are plenty of options outside. The trip from Airport to Kowloon will take you 30 mins via taxi and because I arrived past 12 midnight from SG I booked a cab and it will cost you around 40++ SGD but its worth it because its kinda long trip. As I traversed thru Nathan Road and via its inner road Kimberley I got the feeling that I’ve never been on this part of Kowloon which makes my stay more exciting. I arrived at the hotel past 1 AM and no one was checking in so it was fast and smooth. The hotel lobby is very huge and spacious they have a unique entrance because you will have to go by their security/baggage reception at the Lower Ground floor and before getting into the lobby via escalator or lift. The lobby has that nostalgic feeling of the 90’s to early 2000’s - it maintained its classic and authentic theme yet adapted to modern times. We were booked at 9F and the first thing that caught my eyes were the classic Yellow Blue carpeting of the hallways which is quite unique and not found in any other hotels. It retains the design and theme of classic British/Chinese interior decors even the paintings of the walls shows the history of Hong Kong in neutral brown and white colours and the lamps around the floor area gives the feeling of nostalgic vibes back into those days. As we entered our room, lo and behold we were greeted by a huge and spacious room with Double bed, Tub, and Study Table/Lounge chair and the very elegant Navy Blue carpeting with a touch of painted Yellow textures in synch with the overall theme of the hotel. My first impression of the room was charming and classic and I felt really relaxed, comfortable and at home. One of the unique things I’ve noticed is the mini-bar which is located right away when you enter to your right. I couldn’t remember any other hotels I’ve booked with this set-up. This is also the only place where the power outlet and their USB adapter hub is located for your charging. Complimentary coffee/tea/bottled water are provided as well as kettle and mugs on top of the mini-fridge as well as a small mirror on top. Next to the mini-bar is their toilet and tub which is not too big but spacious enough to accomodate 2 people together. Designed with Bronze charcoal coloured tiles it has again the same nostalgic feel you could find in classic hotels in the 90’s which I really admire given that The Kimberley hotel maintained it really well. The tub to your right is separated by a shower curtain and it’s a bit small less than 5 feet in length barely enough to fit my whole body and it’s also a bit shallow. The toilet next to the tub is nice and huge but there is no bidet since it’s a classic design so you would need to use toilet paper. The black marble sink is quite huge with a big mirror and they provide complimentary toothbrush/paste, shampoo and shower gel. Water control pressure is a bit tricky to adjust because of the separate knobs for Hot and Cold but no issues on the heating system. Overall, I still used their tub despite the small size and I enjoyed it. Just outside the toilet there is a big space or gap enough to put in your luggages and stuff which I find interesting. And to your right is where the wardrobe is located with safety lock and tons of compartments. It has also an automatic light where it switches On whenever you open it. I loved that they put extra pillow here and laundry bag. The double bed is just beside the wardrobe and I would say that even though it does look a bit small surprisingly we can move with ease and sleep comfortably together. The bedsheets, blankets and pillows are soft, sikly, clean and comfortable. The blanket is thick enough to keep us warmth. There are 2 very nice romantic lamps on either side of the Brown polished headrest which compliments the classic, romantic overall look of the whole room. In front of the double bed is the flat screen TV mounted on the wall together with a Black & White painting of The Clock Tower located along Victoria Harbour - one of HK’s iconic attractions and just a walking distance from our hotel. This is layout combining the flat screen TV ad painting is such a very creative and unique design. A huge wall mounted body mirror is also located on the right of the bed framed with intricate brown wood. On the corner side is where the huge window with blackout curtains located and a very wide, spacious study table and a very elegant wooden chair with cushion. This corner side is also the most spacious area where you could put your luggages and things. Our view is the opposite buildings so not so much for it. WIFI is easy to connect and a bit fast. However, due to our quick 3 days trip in HK we didn’t get the chance to try the gym and explore so much around our hotel but we still felt the comfort, beauty, relaxation, safety and homey feeling and vibes of our classic, elegant standard room. Check-out is at 12 noon and it was fast, efficient and the front desk informed us that the deposit we paid will be credited back to our bank in 7 to 14 days so if you have cash better use it to pay for your deposit here. There you go our stay at Kowloon was made easy, comfortable, memorable and delightful because of the huge, spacious, classic, elegant rooms of The Kimberley. However, what really makes this hotel the best out here is the location - it’s right at the hearrt of Hong Kong where all the fun, food, attractions, shopping and much more are just right around the corner only at the Kimberley Hotel Hong Kong.

Staying here for one week. First the Pros: -good location at Kowloon near restaurants, shopping centers and museums -the cleaning lady is friendly and did her job The Cons of this hotel: -the appearance of this hotel is old. The pictures in the web are from a different decade - I have seen much nicer 3-star hotels, so I’d say Kimberley-hotel is max 2-stars - no breakfast available. When I called the service line to enquire about breakfast I was first mistakenly told that it’s available until 11am, but when I went to the front desk to ask where is the breakfast served I was told the my do not serve it at all! I was astonished, because that is a basic service and this claims to be a 4-star hotel and this is a sizeable facility. The front desk told me that there are plenty of places to eat outside, but he couldn’t name even one. So, we went to hunt for breakfast with my teenage son. We found on the opposite side of the street 20 meters away a Nordics hotel with breakfast on the menu. -no pool. Or this is what the front desk told me. Then I found pictures of a Spa, which is next door. Why didn’t the front desk mention this?? -Internet connection poor. I tried having a Teams-meeting with my team in the Nordics, Europe, but the connection failed several times. To summarize: cannot recommend this hotel. The stars are overrated and the service and overall customer experience is poor.

I’m sorry but this hotel needs some fixing and renovation. They charge big for a ruin down room. I don’t recommend it to anyone until they have renovate. Be careful of the booking pictures it was taken decades ago. My room was smells like cigarettes, disgusting and the pillow has stains and smells horrible. The carpets are stained. Not worth the price.

They charge a Top Dollar and in few minutes into the room and you observe; Clumsy bathroom fittings, Dirty Curtains and Carpets felt like a dodgy car was parked earlier in the room! Out-Dated Interiors May be they didn't upkeep their property since June 2019! Expectations go down the drain faster than the waste water from the sink in the bathroom🥲 You ask them for room change ! "NO NOT ALLOWED!" The Law is a pretext for them to keep it unmanaged ! I was wondering! Did they just tidy up the bed with fresh sheets or what!! Would I suggest this one? 🙄! Well, except for the location, you will feel quite a bit pinched of your money! I would however recommend to pay a little more and stay better ! Or pay less and not regret having your expectation not met! Im sure you want to have a good stay at least during Normalcy! Lets dream ! But Not here please!

If u need to consider any hotel in HK, for travel or current quarantine! Pls skip consider this old and broken hotel! Which still claims themselves 3.5 star🤬🤬🤬 Stay due to ASQ 21 days in HK, back from Thailand. The hotel room are so old, the carpet ( as photo) come with lot of stains and odd smells.. Wall paper all off from the wall... The pillow are cover with plastic bags 😰 WiFi signal keep on disconnect! Only good thing is a big bathroom, but still you never able to control the water temperature... Under the ASQ, you are allow to order food from outside e.g. Deliveroo, Panda etc. But you will not allow to send any thing out from the hotel, even document if urgent by your business needs... Anyway pls avoid stay here! ( my stay was arrange by company due to sudden. Change HK COVID ASQ policy from 14 days and extended to 21 days...)

The staff at this hotel are excellent. Super chilled, they punch well above their weight in this price category. The rooms are large for the price which is important when you are stuck there so long. Ofcourse the decor is not great, but size, price, and helpful staff are the key elements over a long stay like this.

Worst hotel to stay with a child. Housekeeping is the worst part. Need to ask for everything. They do not bother to visit your room for 2/3 days continuously. Room size is okay. Rough and old carpets. I do not recommend. There are plenty other options nearby for the same price. 2 stars for the room size only.

I needed stay for two weeks after my corona quarantine. I found the price of this hotel in Agoda on sales. Good price for a large well lit room in Tsimshatsui. Clean but outdated decor which many hotels in hk are still using those dark wood furniture Fine for me Not easy to come across a twenty mr room in that area. The Kowloon peak nearby offer a nice airy place to exercise
