Nestled in the bustling heart of Causeway Bay, The Park Lane Hong Kong garners praise for its exceptional service, particularly the staff at the executive lounge known for their personalized attention. Travelers appreciate the cleanliness and eco-friendly practices, along with modern amenities such as the serene Executive Lounge. Its location is a highlight, offering effortless access to MTR, shopping, and Victoria Park. While rooms are spacious with impressive views, sentiments on their style are mixed. Despite the modern and elegant ambiance, some guests feel the value proposition is marred by unexpected fees.

In short, service. Service as it should be in a 5* hotel.
In Hong Kong, time is valued, so quick check-in, quick check-out. The room is quiet, calm, no one disturbed me, there is a good view from the window, the hotel itself is located in the center, but I prefer to take buses; routes to major destinations, including the airport, are nearby. If you like trams, they are also nearby.
The view from the room was of Victoria Park, Causeway Bay.
As an Accor Platinum member, we were offered late check-out, breakfast, access to the Lounge, which turned out to be large and bright, with delicious snacks and drinks, where you can have breakfast in the morning. The lounge overlooks Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon.
There was a meeting at the GC, so I paid for the right to enter the lounge for + one person, the price tag was reasonable and completely justified.
The flight was late, at the front desk they offered to use the shower before going to the airport, it’s nice that you are considered a guest even after leaving the hotel.

I was initially allocated to an old unrenovated room. I had assumed that because ALL Platinum members were granted executive lounge access, they would also be upgraded to an executive room, as this has been the case at other Accor hotels I have stayed at. However, I was informed by the reception staff member that that was not the case at this hotel, and I would need to pay an upgrade fee of around $500+ HKD per night for an executive room. I declined that and was eventually allocated to a more modern but non-executive room, which was fine, but unremarkable. The bed was a bit firmer than I would have liked and there was no liquid soap provided near the hand basin. The hotel could consider offering a mattress topper and providing a bottle of liquid soap near the hand basin (the ones in the shower cannot be moved as they are locked to the wall).

I tried the breakfast both at Playt and at the executive lounge. Playt is far more crowded but offers a much greater variety of food. The executive lounge offers a small buffet and an a la carte menu and is much more peaceful.

As well as breakfast, afternoon tea and evening canapes are offered in the executive lounge. The quality and variety of food and drinks in the executive lounge is good and the service is excellent, even when the lounge is busy. Thanks to Julius and all the staff in the executive lounge for your polite and attentive service, which made my stay a most enjoyable one.

I look forward to returning to this hotel on a future visit to Hong Kong.

Summary: an ageing icon still has much to offer, comfortable rooms and an excellent location.

The good:

Location - the hotel is in an excellent location in Causeway Bay, right in the middle of the action but somehow in a discreet pocket so you are not impacted by noise. Less than 5 mins walk from Causeway Bay MTR station, take exit E - Victoria Park (ignore Google Maps) and simply turn left and enter the hotel via the Great George Street entrance next to IKEA, rather than the porte-cochère entrance on Gloucester Road. Many bars, restaurants, an ATM and supermarkets nearby.

Accor Membership - on check-in I was upgraded to a park view room and a welcome amenity fruit platter with sweets was provided.

Neutral:

Room - there's no getting around the fact that my room was outdated and in need of a refurb. However, I still found it comfortable and was able to have restful sleep each night during my stay, which is the main point of a hotel. The bed was very firm, which I prefer, but if you like a soft mattress be aware.

Visible wear and tear throughout, stains on carpet/walls and scratches on glass table.

For those with mobility issues, also be aware there is no seperate shower, there is a shower over the bathtub that requires a step-up and tiles can become slippery.

In room technology is outdated. My in room safe was broken.

Negative:

Skye Bar - I tried attending Skye Bar on one night and asked to be seated for dinner. Unfortunately I think there was some confusion with the staff member as she sat me in the bar area and gave me a menu that only had bar snacks, rather than anything substantial for dinner. I sat at my table for a few minutes and chose to leave as the smell of cigarette smoke was overwhelming and very unpleasant. The view of Victoria Harbour from Skye was nice, but I can't vouch for the rest.

Conclusion: after rooms are refurbished, I would consider this hotel on my next Hong Kong stay, In the meantime I will be exploring alternative options next time I visit.

I stayed as an Accor Platinum member and booked a basic room type. The front desk upgraded me to a view room facing Victoria Park. Because the bathroom has a bathtub and shower, I immediately called the front desk to change to a shower room. The front desk said that if I need to change to a non-suite room with a shower room, I need to add an additional room fee of HK$220 per night.

I brought large luggage in and out of the hotel many times. Although there were many (concierge) porters on duty at the entrance of the hotel, they never provided me with service. However, I saw that they were very active in providing enthusiastic service to guests of other skin colors. I felt that I encountered racism.

The environment of the executive lounge is comfortable, the service is thoughtful, and every employee is very enthusiastic.

The hotel’s location is absolutely fantastic, truly one of the highlights of my visit. However, the overall experience was marred by several issues that left me with mixed feelings.

While the hotel has undergone some partial renovations (new carpets and beds), much of the general technology feels outdated, particularly the electronics and bathroom facilities. Additionally, the doors are quite loud when closing, which made me feel uncomfortable as I worried about disturbing other guests.

As a Gold member of the ALL loyalty program, I was disappointed to learn that the welcome drink was not available at the rooftop bar but only at the lobby bar—and restricted to a specific list of drinks. This felt far from welcoming. On the positive side, we did visit the rooftop bar, which offered nice views, but the experience was underwhelming due to the poor sound quality from the loudspeakers.

The breakfast, on the other hand, was excellent—definitely a highlight of the stay.

I booked two rooms for my group of four friends. Unfortunately, only my room had a fruit platter, which created an awkward impression, as if I had received an upgrade at my friends’ expense. My room had a fantastic view of the park, while my friends enjoyed lovely views of the city and harbor. While both views were beautiful, the disparity added an element of discomfort.

Another downside was the minibar—it was completely empty, and we had to pay upfront for any drinks delivered to our room, despite a deposit being held. Furthermore, there was no bottled water provided in the rooms due to an eco initiative. While I understand the reasoning, bottled water is a convenience I often carry with me while exploring the city. When I requested a bottle from room service, I was surprised to learn I had to pay for it.

In summary, while I enjoyed visiting one of my favorite cities in the world with my friends, the stay did not fully meet my expectations, especially considering the price. While the location and breakfast were standout positives, the outdated facilities, restrictive loyalty benefits, and other small inconveniences left me with mixed feelings about the experience.

The room I stayed in was extremely spacious - pretty sure with the right configuration it would be enough to fit 3 in there. The bathroom though is small, but functional. The staff was very nice - I had been extremely jet lagged the first few days I was there and team making up the rooms realised I was on a different sleep schedule and accommodated accordingly. The best thing is the hotel is very centrally located, surrounded by eateries, a Donki, and an MTR station a stone’s throw away.

The hotel has tried to go green so it doesn’t provide bottled water anymore, but rather has a filter machine which also doubles as a kettle. So, bring your own water bottle?

Spent 2 nights here with my husband for our business trip.

We upgraded our room from deluxe twin to premium room which is bigger and have more modern design and better view to the harbour and victoria park. The room is nice and clean.

The locations is superb, walking distance to shops and restaurants in causeway bay area.
They did not provide bottled water in the room but instead they provide a dispenser.

This stay is a week early to celebrate the birthday of the little ones, and because the marathon is held, I need to work early in the morning, so I booked this hotel, which is the nearest hotel in the Voyage Park.

I originally booked the JW Marriott, but I found it a week before I stayed at the Berning Hotel, so I booked here and canceled the JW Marriott Booking. There was little to worry at first, because the hotel is after all 50 years old, afraid it will be outdated, and afraid it will be without the careful service of the JW Marriott, but because I did not try, I tried (new) hotel, so I finally chose it.

The two days before check-in through the APP gateway is to celebrate children's birthday, the hotel will arrange cake. At the same time asked if it was possible to arrange breakfast at 4:30 in the morning, and promptly agreed. We divided two teams at the time of check-in, because I am a member of Marriott Hostel Platinum, so you can do it at the member desk, without queues, it's good. The staff who helped me make the check-in was named Kitty. During the check-in process, I met the little boy from a distance and wished him a happy birthday. And to learn that they made some decorations in the room, very hearty, great. Later she asked me when to deliver breakfast to the room or pick up in the lobby, when to send cake to the room, etc., all the services are very good. The only regret is that too many people stayed in the hotel, so it was not possible to upgrade the suite, but it was good for me to upgrade to the panoramic room.

During the chat, I learned that the room where I lived was renovated, and said that I hope I would like to get the room in the back of the dormitory, there is no taste of renovation, the room is colorful, and the window to the garden, you can see the preparation for the marathon. On the side of the bed, each has a USB A and a USB C socket, the bed is soft and hard, and overall is comfortable, the only regret is that there is no bathtub, such as a bathtub will definitely add points.

After the 26th floor administrative lounge rest, more than 2 p.m., there are snacks, juice, zucchini and chocolate provided, snacks are delicious, five fresh juices are the biggest selling point, great. The lounge is large, can view the port of Vi, in HH time more people flow, and there is insufficient food supplementation, the most people picked up the food is carrot bulbs, after the three-turn wait for half an hour no more supplementation, a little disappointed. The lady staff at the lobby (forgot to ask her name) was kind to talk to us and introduce nearby attractions.

The entire stay experience is very good, it would be better if the lounge can arrange two free entrances, because some of the hotel's administrative lounges can be used with two children free of charge, in addition, the food supplementation speed also needs to pay attention. The highest appreciation is fresh juice, delicious food, plenty of room space, friendly staff, and empathy, will do more steps, not a mechanical response to one answer, hardware and software are good. But the hotel does not have a pool, the gym does not have a lot of equipment, if the room price can be adjusted a little bit, it is better.

The hotel's best selling point is its location - smack in the middle of Causeway Bay, 5 mins walk from the nearest MTR exit, right opposite Victoria Park and with endless amenities around - malls, 24 supermarket right next day. You'll never go hungry or bored.

Room wise, the room was of a decent size for HK standards and well maintained. However, as my family booked four rooms albeit all in the same price category, we had differing experiences. Some of our rooms were obviously not renovated yet, as the layout and decor was abit older. Some had great views (like mine, i didnt even need to go Avenue of Stars to enjoy my harbour view) but some faced building roof tops.

Breakfast was good - all the food you need, and still provided newspapers which is a rarity nowadays.

One thing the hotel could improve on is its lifts - despite having 6 lifts, they were slow and often very crowded. Queues formed at the lift lobby any time of the day, I remember coming back one night at 11pm and still faced a queue to just get up to my room.

Hotel was located at shopping district, IKEA and Decathlon were beside hotel, 5 mins walk from Causeway Bay MTR. I would like to thanks Quentin from front desk for room upgrade and late check-out. The Premium Pullman room was newly renovated, modern decor and high floor. I was impressed with the hotel’s plastic-free initiatives, all toothbrush, comb, razors are made of wood, drinking water is in a can instead of plastic bottle. We also received macarons as birthday gift, we will be back again.

Airport Express to Hong Kong station, then taxi from station to hotel is the quickest. For information regarding renovated rooms, as this is most probably an on-going process, best to contact the hotel directly.
