The Dorsett Kai Tak hotel garners praise for its sophisticated atmosphere and stylish, clean rooms boasting modern amenities and impressive views, although some guests find the rooms a bit snug. Its rooftop bar is a highlight, offering stunning views, and the efficient shuttle service is well-regarded. While the location is deemed convenient for its proximity to attractions and the MTR, ongoing nearby construction can be a nuisance. The hotel's cleanliness and friendly service frequently receive commendations, though opinions on value are mixed, with some guests dissatisfied with the breakfast and not all facilities fully operational.

In HK, I seldom stay at any hotels and during my recent visit to the newly opened Dorsett Kai Tak for my birthday celebration, I experienced a blend of modern elegance and warm hospitality that truly impressed me. As the only hotel in the Kai Tak area, it stands adjacent to the new Kai Tak Stadium. Despite the ongoing construction nearby, the hotel's location offers convenient access to the MTR station, just a 10-minute walk away. For those preferring not to walk, the concierge desk efficiently arranges Uber or taxi services.

Upon arrival, the understated yet inviting lobby, reflective of Dorsett's signature style, welcomed me with self-service drinks. The check-in process was seamless, thanks to the dual reception desks capable of accommodating multiple guests simultaneously. The concierge staff efficiently managed luggage, and the availability of vending machines for essentials like bottled water and snacks added a thoughtful touch.

The gym facilities were impressive, offering a spacious area equipped with a comprehensive range of modern exercise equipment. My room, which provided a stunning view of either the stadium or the harbor, was a highlight of my stay. Upgraded to a larger room, I appreciated the cozy sofa area and open kitchen design. The bathroom, featuring both a shower and a bathtub, was elegantly designed and complemented by high-quality bath amenities.

Dining at the hotel was a delightful experience. The rooftop bar, with its stylish decor and both indoor and outdoor seating options, provided a sophisticated yet relaxed ambiance. Excellent guest engagement by supervisor-Bowie and her colleagues.

The restaurant on 2nd floor offered a unique culinary fusion of Spanish and Sichuan styles. The standout dish for me was the Spanish red prawns, and the discounts available during the pre-opening stage were a pleasant surprise.

Service throughout my stay was exceptional. The young and enthusiastic team at the front office and restaurant ensured efficient check-in (although there was a queue-up upon check in at 4pm on Sat) and check-out processes, utilizing paperless systems. Their friendly and engaging manner made every interaction enjoyable.

Despite the bustling atmosphere during the pre-opening stage, the staff managed the high demand commendably, though it was evident that additional personnel would be beneficial as the hotel prepares for increased activity with the upcoming events at Kai Tak Stadium.

In conclusion, I would like to extend my appreciation to Alice and especially Gladys at the Front Office, and Carlos at “Siete Ocho”, the Spanish restaurant, for their outstanding service. The Dorsett Kai Tak promises a blend of comfort, convenience, and exemplary service, making it an excellent choice for both business and leisure travelers.

Definitely I will return again and a good place for weekday or weekend retreat.

Good:

1. We were staying in the suite during our hotel stay. The room was clean and the view was nice. Overall the facilities in the room were excellent. Although the hotel suite was not the original room type that we booked for, we enjoyed the room a lot.

2. The staff in the bar was nice and they showed us around the bar during the stay. We enjoy talking to the staff a lot during our stay.

3. As it is a new hotel that was opened 1 week ago before our stay, some of the facilities were not yet available including the swimming pool and the restaurant. The vending machine for drinks, food, and toothbrushes was not working, but the staff helped us deal with the situation. Some of the problems with the facilities were understandable.

Bad:

1. The service provided during check-in was not satisfactory. The front desk staff was unable to automatically provide information including the location of restaurants, the opening time, the check-out time, etc.. This is especially problematic when there is no signage to guide us to the restaurants or the bar in the lift. Furthermore, the QR code provided in the room did not work, therefore it was very difficult for us to find information on that. We were only able to get that information on further prompting via phone when we remembered we booked the hotel through a staycation plan (which included breakfasts and cocktails from the bar).

Remarks:

1. Another point I would like to raise is that one should watch out for the terms and conditions while booking rooms through the "Take Off at Dorsett Kai Tak staycation package". Although the advertisement mentioned 26 hours of full-stay as one of the benefits of this package for two room types (one of them is a suite), one should note that it only applies to non-suite rooms. It created a lot of confusion during booking especially when I looked at the terms and conditions.

Dorsett Kai Tak has been such a wonderful hotel experience - visited here for 3 nights in a triple room with family and I don’t think I’ve had a better experience with staff at any other hotel than here.
They have been so accommodating to various needs (ex: bringing a scale to our room to weigh our luggages, helping us drain our shower within 10 mins of us calling room service late at night) and just overall, the staff have been so kind and thoughtful with helping us in small ways that I haven’t experienced at other places.
The hotel also is environmentally conscious, which is something I appreciate when other hotels don’t seem to put thought into that (ex: they give you a voucher if you don’t ask for room cleaning, giving you a reusable water bottle and having refillable water stations on various floors so you can refill water whenever you need it). Heads to bring your own toothbrushes though or be okay with paying $1HKD for toothbrushes at the hotel.

The hotel also has a lovely pool and bar at the top of the building, and has a great view of the Kai Tak skyline (shoutout to bartenders Max and Bowie for making the bar so enjoyable!!🩷).

Overall, my stay here has been great! My one thing with staying in the triple bed room is that it is fairly tight, and may be difficult to navigate if you have a lot of luggage but overall, the whole experience with the service and the amenities at this hotel made it very worthwhile. I definitely will be trying to stay here again, or try the other Dorsett hotels whenever I’m back to visit here!!

Possibly because of the new hotel, the check-in waiting time is a bit slow, the hotel offers three detox welcome drinks, but a few surprises because there are few hotels in Hong Kong.

Several appreciate the hotel's gym, the equipment is very clean, the choice of machines is also large, but the bicycle is too professional and sitting is not very comfortable.

The room is a little overlooking the sea, but the price is a bit expensive and there are more options in the studio.

Fewer breakfast options are recommended, but the service is good.

The hotel offers a shuttle bus to Khud subway station, which is convenient and fast, and you can buy food in the nearby supermarkets at night when you are hungry.

This hotel has only been open a few weeks yet the room we had was very grubby with dust buildup all around the edges. When our room wasn't cleaned in the 2 days we stayed we realised this was probably the reason why. After the second night there was a queue of people at reception all complaining their rooms had not been cleaned. We were given a $20HG (£2)voucher for the vending machine as compensation. I would say this hotel would struggle to get a 3 star rating with only the bar prices being 5 star. The reception area is dull , uninviting , with very little seating. The hotel is also in the middle of major building projects making the walk to the nearest MTR station some what hazardous. The hotel do provide a shuttle service to Airside Mall near Kai Tak MTR , this only runs 11.00 to 19.30 and the 11.00 is hard to get on as this is the main checkout time.

Modern hotel that attaches great importance to environmental protection. Waste separation already in the bathroom, a glass bottle is available, which can be filled with water in the corridor free of charge. Room cleaning and towel change only if necessary. USB ports and a large LED TV available and everything else you need. The hit with the children is the rooftop pool, with the parents also the bar next door. Good thing there are family rooms for three or four people. They are not large, but sufficient. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room rates are very good, booking is best directly via the hotel homepage. The transport links are good, many buses leave nearby, the metro is a few minutes walk away. Conclusion: Everything was fine and highly recommended.

I just stayed at the Chateau Dixon Hotel and was very pleased with the warm hospitality of receptionists Alice and Ann, especially wanted to leave a five-star rating for them on the online platform.

First, when I arrived at the hotel, Alice’s smile and kind greeting made me feel welcome. Not only did she quickly check-in, she patiently introduced me to the facilities and tourist attractions around the hotel. Her expertise and enthusiastic service made me look forward to this stay.

Then, Ann also impressed me. She actively cares about my needs during my stay and is always available to help. Whether she asks for the facilities of the room or needs an extra towel, she can quickly and effectively solve my problem. Her attitude to service made me feel her love of work, and this careful and attentive service was the standard of a five-star hotel.

In addition, the hotel environment is also very comfortable, the rooms are clean and fully equipped, allowing me to have the full relaxation during the busy trip. The warm hospitality of Alice and Ann undoubtedly enhanced my stay experience, making me feel here as not just a place to stay but a warm and caring home.

Overall, I am very grateful to Alice and Ann for the excellent service that made my stay so enjoyable. I will not hesitate to recommend the Chateau Dixon Hotel to my friends and look forward to enjoying their warm welcome next time.

After work, you can catch the shuttle bus 19:40, very easy to find, no stops, but in front of the shuttle outside the mall, etc., you can see the bus, the car is written the English name of the hotel, no reservation, and no check-in.
After arrival, there are several guests who have just checked in, the desk boys finally helped to extend the check-out, so that the last day of 2024 is also lucky.
Toothbrush needs to be purchased, water should also be installed on the floor itself, the room has a transparent water barrel, but there are climbers who know it in the morning and can be accepted. The room is also not so unclean as the net said above, but it can be better. The pillow is flat and the bed is comfortable. Most of the time it is very quiet, there is no noise from guests, occasionally there is noise of the door. There is no view outside the window, suitable for us who often close curtains. Overall satisfied, the new hotel is more than 90 percent recommended for those who want to rest in the hotel. The only note is that there is nothing nearby, want to shop or take the subway bus will be uncomfortable, be careful of your travel arrangements.

Nice new hotel close to the MTR. Good shuttle service. And staff is helpful. They charge for amenity’s like a toothbrush, cottonballs etc. The location is not near any stores or markets or restaurants. The closest one is about a half hour walk or you must take the shuttle.

Hotel rooms are very spacious. The cribs and pillows have a moderate hardness and feel comfortable. Rooms also have an air purifier to make the air in the room more circulating.

The hotel staff was very friendly.

The location of the hotel is close to the Chateau Stadium, which is a great choice for visitors in the future.
