I found the room in Regala was unexpectedly small! I stayed in a few hotels for staycation in Hong Kong before. A hotel room in Sheung Wan or Tsimshatsui, regions with much higher property price, is much bigger than here. I’m also surprised that there is no room service. I think many guests like me booked a room here was for catching an early flight. When we need to take a shuttle bus at 6am but your restaurant opens at 7am, I think having room service to serve a breakfast is a basic service. The experience here is not value for money so I decided to spend time to write here.

Price is reasonable. Located 5mins away from HKIA. 5mins walk away to 11 Skies. Shuttle Bus service to HKIA. Room is clean. Good for solo travellers. Basic amenities are provided. Wifi is available. Size of room is small, which is quite common in HK. Not advisable if you have a huge luggage. Water shower pressure is good, hot water is constant unlike certain hotels where the hot water is intermittent. Although the room I stayed is stated as Sea-View, however, there is a building blocking the view. You probably need to stay on high floor to enjoy that view. (Mine is on the 6th). Check in and Check out is seamless. Counter staffs are polite and have good command of English. Free Shuttle Bus service every hour from 6am through 1130pm and it is on a first come first serve basis. However, the downside is there is no queue, and if there are many people waiting, you probably gotta run to the bus when you see it. Wifi is also available on the bus. Travelling to Tsim Sha Tsui is approximately 25mins via Uber, which cost you around USD 34. Or you can also take a free shuttle bus to Tung Chung MTR and continue from there. All in all, its good place to stay and even better if you have early departure flights.

A series of bad experiences from the start. Arriving late the non smoking room smelt so bad could not stand it and changing rooms took ages and 2 trips back to reception. There were NO irons or Ironing boards available as they were all out - so wrinkly business clothes. The line for breakfast was so long breakfast was impossible. The food at the Chinese restaurant was average at best and extremely overpriced. A phone message was impossible to get as the reception - when they answered the third time could not understand me so I gave up - and as a result my washing was not able to be done. I had booked longer than intended by one day and at checking in a refund was absolutely impossible - a complete stone wall so just walked away from it. the whole experience was exhausting and dispiriting. It's ironic that despite being located next to the AsiaWorld-Expo and being one of the supporting hotels for the Asia Fruit Logistica exhibition, the hotel did not cater enough staff to serve hotel guests. This is especially so for the hotel buffet breakfast, where the queues were always long throughout the morning (at least 30-40 people queueing outside waiting to enter because the restaurant was completely full). And half the buffet trays were often empty because the kitchen is so understaffed that just cannot meet the crowd demand for food! And the live stations were also always empty because they were just so short of staff! For a business hotel, this is definitely a poor experience

Considering that Hong Hong has an amazing 24-hour international airport and this hotel is the cheapest and closest to the airport, you would think they would accommodate worldwide travellers' needs!! Don't get me wrong, this hotel is value for money, clean and friendly and does what it says on the tin, that is to say, as and when it suits them. The whole hotel shuts down at night, and you can only excess the roof gym after 8:30 am in the morning. The pool was closed till 10 am and then on and off throughout the day. The limited vending machines only take Chinese forms of payment (wechat BOC Alipay). There seems to be no main bar that I could find. I did arrive at 9 am jet lagged and fancied a few beers; this was not possible, simply put, the hotel should consider a more 24-hour mindset which would better accommodate their customers' needs.

Delayed flights and arrivals that go past midnight are never pleasant. Regala was a great place to recover; very clean room and amenities just right. Breakfast had a mix of west and east. The only struggle is excess construction around the airport. Make sure you have a little Hong Kong dollar in case you need a bus or taxi after hours.

The transportation is convenient, the room is clean and hygienic. But the space is a bit small, there is no razor in the bathroom, there is no hotel and no lounge bar. There is no place to drink and chat with shoppers at night.

Hello Regala team, I had a pleasant night staying at your hotel but the check in on July 27 was a nightmare, I arrived at 1830 but there was a long line, after waiting for 15 mins I decided to leave my luggage to the concierge and head to my dinner appointment without a quick shower and change :) the line for check in remains there until I came back at 22:15, and by the time I finished the check-in procedures it was almost 23:00. Other than that the facility is clean and quiet, I had a great night sleep and spent some time at the pool before I fly to Tokyo. Thank you Ken

I reserved for this hotel because of its proximity to the airport, because my old parents needed to leave HK by an early flight and I wanted them to feel less stressed before departure. However, this hotel has ruined my plan! We arrived in the hotel lobby at 21:20, it was at first impossible to see where the check-in counter was because the lobby was too crowded with people who jostled one another trying to find the end of the check-in queue! At last, it took me one full hour just to check in! But the ordeal did not end here. I reserved for a room for three adults, but my room was equipped with only one bed and one sofa with just two pillows and one quilt! Upon opening the sofa bed, I saw a lot of rust powders from the bedframe scattered all over the mattress. I immediately called the housekeeping and the operator told me that in case I was not happy about the bed, I could go back to the front desk to request for arrangement, and I refused immediately saying that I would not spend another hour to wait there. And then, he said that he would send somebody to my room to fix the sofa bed problems. We waited and waited but nobody came and I called back the housekeeping and nobody picked up my call again! After half an hour, I went straight to the front desk and told the staff there what had happened and that guy apologized and arranged another room to me and promised to send me a housekeeping guy to open the sofa bed for me. Yet, that new room was exactly the same as the previous one with just two pillows and one quilt, plus a rusty sofa bed with rust powders all around. At that time, I really had no energy to request anymore and we simply waited inside the room for the housekeeping guy to come, who finally showed up before midnight. After midnight, my old parents and I went to sleep after a quick shower. We had no chance at all to eat anything, and none of us could sleep well in those few hours because of our empty stomach. Yet, the ordeal still has not ended! On the following morning, we waited for the first hotel shuttle bus to get to the airport. After all the passengers loaded their baggage to the shuttle bus, something went wrong and the bus could not move! Everybody in the bus became very anxious and a few even requested to get off the bus. At last, a bus scheduled at 6:00 could only start moving at 6:19. My parents and I could barely arrive on time for checking in at the airline counter, the Regala Skycity Hotel has really offered me a terrible memory!

I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights because I was going to Anson Lo's Solo Concerts at Asia-World Expo. The quality of this hotel exceeds my expectation. It's new, clean and very convenient. And the staff are helpful and friendly. The best thing is I could enjoy the lovely sunrise every morning. ☀️The room is facing the East, so you can see the Sun rises from the sea right next to Asia-World Expo. Food choices at the breakfast buffet are limited, but the environment of restaurant is good. And the yogurt tastes creamy and smooth! I would be great if more fresh fruit can be provided. I enjoy this stay a lot! 🙂
