I called the hotel with a view to book it as I saw here that it was pet friendly. When I asked the hotel whether pets were allowed, I got a direct and straight reply "NO". So please make note of that.
Looks like a fairly new hotel on a side street near Belcher's st and the 'hipper' part of K Town. We had left it late to make a reservation so ended up with expensive rooms. These were spacious by HK standards and equipped to a good standard. The harbour facing window was glazed floor to ceiling. Bed was fine & shower also good. There was only one lift, but we did not suffer any major waits. I was concerned that breakfast is not offered, but there are several coffee shops in the vicinity so this is not a catastrophic issue.
The place was well priced, location was good, and the place was clean. That is about where the positives stop. The room and bed was tiny, however we expected this so not a big issue. What we did expect was the massive lack of attention from the staff (barely lifting their heads, sometimes, at reception as we came and went). The "Cleaning staff" pulled the bed cover (no sheets, just blanket) back up to make it seem like the bed was made. We had to request new towels and bathroom supplies as they would be taken away and not replaced despite the fact we still had several days left on our visit. We had an issue with the aircon being turned off at night, they cam up and "checked" it but couldnt find anything wrong and told us to let them "know when it happens again" however, there is no-one at the desk when I woke up several times sweating in the middle of the night. Cheap for a good reason. My advice would be pay a little more and you will have a much better experience on your holiday.…
Maybe is not in downtown but is a few stations from the center. The place looks exactly as the picture (even better in person) is very small but very practical and cozy. There is nice food options near the hotel and so many services. Very recommended, for a reasonable price
Stayed 3 nights in Mia Casa upon the recommendation of a family member living in HK. Compared to pricier hotels, Mia Casa offers privacy, substantial room space (although I think this varies on the length of your stay, you might want to check with the front desk staff), and convenience to Kennedy Town MTR station. Rooms were clean and basic amenities like toiletries and hair dryer are provided. Definitely worth the money :) Some rooms even have small kitchenette areas!
I have stayed for a week in this newish boutique hotel in hip K'town at the end of the MTR Island line. Newish as in completed in 2011, but has seen a good amount of wear and tear. Don't get me wrong, I like it and the locale is great as I get everywhere using what public transit has to offer-trams, buses, mini buses and the subway. And many small inde restaurants on the same street. The hotel is small, 3 units per floor mostly and one per floor on the top 5. Those are more like service apartments. So never wait too long for an elevator. Towels are changed daily, but my glasses were never changed for a week, and my slippers were never replaced after the staff took them away for some reason. Sure I could have called housekeeping but I shouldn't have to. And there is obvious mould around the washbasin where the tap is rocky. That said, it's mama mia casa, I like it for the location, value and ease. …
Great accommodation, this was our second stay. Clean, comfortable room with a nice view. Lots of storage space with a kitchenette if you want to prepare your own meals, hello you are on holiday, or just make a cup of tea. Clean bathroom, good size shower and plenty of supplies and clean towels. Location is ideal, five minutes up the hill to MRT - less than ten minutes from there to HK Central. Minutes walk to the water front and loads of local and western restaurants to choice from, Jaspers is our favourite for breakfast. Staff are very good and helpful and took care of our requests right away. Laundry shops are close at hand, we like Kabo Laundry on Victoria Rd.
We stayed here on eve of New Year countdown for 1 night. Hotel is located at Kennedy Town, away from the city area and nearby neighbourhood area. About 5-10mins walk from the Kennedy Town MTR station. Easy to locate this hotel. Just a few walks away you should be able to reach to Victoria Harbour view for nice shots. We were booked for their standard double but was upgraded to deluxe studio instead. Upon arrival, room wasn't ready. But we was allowed to deposit our bags 1st. Room space is acceptable, clean & tidy. Didn't know room includes electric cooking stove, complete set of cooking utensils, plates, cups, washing sink. Mini fridge in the room too. Not many english channels on tv. Toilet comes with basic amenities. They should include 1 more extra pillow for each room as we only got 2 pillows. Overall we plan to return again for our next visit. Love the area!…
Rooms are a bit small but good enough if you mostly need a place to sleep in. Bed, pillows and duvet are comfortable. They were able to put in a remarkable amount of storage/shelf space given the size of the room. Bathroom works best for petite people. It is in a very good location, surrounded by both traditional Chinese and hip restaurants/cafes that cover just about any cuisine you fancy. Very short walk to the seafront. The front desk staff need to be more friendly.
Mia Casa definitely gets the 5 stars for the location. It's a 2 minute walk to the MTR, 1 minute and you're on the harbour front and the bars and restaurants in the surrounding street are more than you can visit in one stay. We stayed for 7 nights and really enjoyed Kennedy town. This was our first visit to Hong Kong and we'd stayed in a number of different areas so we found Kennedy town comfortable with more western restaurant options if you fancied a change from the local food. Mia Casa is clean and there are a few English channels on the TV if you were to stay in. Roof top area was closed for maintenance which was a negative but not a major issue. Good stay.
