We booked this place for 2 nights during Easter weekend. On our way to the hotel, our Uber driver who’s a resident of Sai Kung was telling us how bad this hotel was. We decided to ignore her comments and stay positive.

The hotel is new and modern, but there’s definitely a lot of improvement needed. It took me half an hour to get someone on the phone - forget about calling housekeeping. Here’s a tip: call front desk or concierge if you need anything. Learned that after 2 days of staying here.

The breakfast quality is average to almost poor. Being a 5 star hotel I would expect better food quality. The selection is more than adequate, but you can tell the quality is not great. The ingredients are cheap.

When we first arrived I asked for soda water, beer and ice and they told me they don’t have soda water and the only beers they have are in the mini fridge (which is Heineken and Tsing Tao). It took a while for me to explain I wanted soda water and not sparkling water. Also, the room service operator told me that they cannot bring the ice or glasses - that’s housekeeping’s job. The next day, the cleaning lady didn’t replace the used glasses, just put them upside down and left the empty ice bucket in the room.

One more issue we had is the aircon. It was set to 24 when we arrived and we decreased the temperature to 18. We left for dinner (kept the key card in the slot) and came back after a few hours and the temperature was even worse at 24.8 degrees. We called front desk after trying housekeeping for ages and finally they sent someone up.

We booked a seaview room with balcony. One observation is that they had adequate space for two chairs and a table but there’s only one.

The hairdryer is the weakest dryer I’ve ever used. It took more than half an hour to dry my hair as it was so weak.

They advertised as being a 5 star hotel but the quality and service are more like 3 stars. In fact I’ve stayed at 3 star hotels in Europe and the service and food quality are way better.

There are a lot of guests because HKers have nowhere to go at the moment. When travel goes back to normal I don’t think anyone would come and stay here - not if they don’t improve their service and quality

A modern design and clean-cut architecture of the hotel. Rooms with high ceiling, full-length balcony glass door and streamlined design give guests a sense of space and relaxation. Of course, the amazing seaview is fantastic. From what I see from the website photos and hotel exterior, the rooms on the rooftop are very nice too should try for next visit.

The room I stayed in was wonderful everything in good shape after 8 months’ operation. Everything looked great and a comfort super King size bed let you have a sound sleep at night. The staff’s service attitude exceeded my expectation. Noted some negative feedback or shortfall during the opening period. Guess hotel address the issue already. They were extremely friendly and said Hi to us sincerely. They also offered help proactively. Starting from arrival, Concierge - Thomas & Roy assisted in loading luggage from my car at forecourt and explained in detail how to go to the carpark for overnight parking. During our stay, also explain to us about the hotel shuttle service to Hang Hau Station. When we passed by WM café, Stephanie explained the dining options and showed us the menu with a great smile. My wife stopped by the fitness center and the staff there also introduced the facilities, opening hours to her and told her that our son could be admitted if he’s accompanied by an adult. We met housekeeping and other staff on the ground floor, corridor and lobby areas. They all greeted us with smile.

A great modern design hotel with resort feel. No doubt to recommend to other. Number of our friends found our photos in social medias keen to ask and show interest to stay.

I stayed there on Sept 9th 2021, in a premier seaview with private rooftop and balcony. I know that at the time of my stay, the hotel is still in soft opening but I believe a lot of the disappointing points are not related.

Hotel and location : Great. Within walking distance to the Sai Kung bus terminal yet far enough to not have any noise. The hotel itself looks amazing.

Room : Poor. Few things really not worthy of an hotel of that standing. The mattress was hard as a ROCK ... The balcony had no chairs; we had some on the rooftop but it doesn't seem from looking at the other rooms that the ones with only balcony had chairs. There's a mirror in the bathroom with a super bright LCD screen that could not be turned off; we had to put a towel on the whole mirror to dim it. Lastly, the rooftop area could use some regular weeding, there was grass almost 20cm tall in some areas.

Pool : Average. While the pool itself is quite amazing, few things make it a not so great experience. First, to enter the pool area, you HAVE to walk through a footbath and a waterfall, whether or not you plan on swimming, same going out ... The pool has very limited sunbeds/seats so better go early. Lastly, there's no section of the pool where the depth is less (for kids), it's 1.2m deep everywhere.

Food : Poor. Only went for the breakfast. The egg station only serves fried or sunny side up eggs and is SUPER slow. Patrons have to make their coffees themselves and only 1 of the 2 machines was functional. Danishes did not taste fresh at all. I saw the staff refill the jars of juice with some cheap store-bought juice in the middle of the food area (not even bothering to do this in the back room)

Staff : Good. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful although check-in was slow. They helped us find a bottle opener. Outside of the front desk, not a lot of staff seem to be much english.

Overall, I think the rooms are highly overpriced for the current state of the hotel and as I mentioned at the top, I disregarded the issues I believe are due to the hotel not being fully opened yet.

As a newly opened hotel, I decided to celebrate a birthday who is also 1 Aug with the hotels opening date to make the occasion extra special. With all excitement in mind, I was a bit disappointed even before arrival. In my perspective, the hotel is not yet ready to fully open and cope with the ongoing staycation trend. 9 out of 10 guests staying in hotels during COVID times will most likely be for some kind of celebration. As a 3k per night hotel with only breakfast, I was expecting something out of the originally. Totally understand that it was their first day of operation, however there were some faults during the stay which I believe could be of an improvement for them in the future.

#1: called to enquire about any birthday arrangements and was told that they did not have this kid of service at the moment.
#2. Found dirty substances in the bathtub and chased several times to get it cleaned but in the end still no one came to clean
#3. Came back into the room and found an extra bed set up in the room which was apparently a part of our package but they did not reconfirm if we actually needed it upon arrival. We arrived as two young adults and I believe it would make sense to at least ask before setting up which we then again had to ask several times to get it removed.
#4. False fire alarm rang at 3am. Understand this could happened out of the control of the hotel but their follow up could be improved. I brought up the issue in the morning and was told it was a false fire alarm. I kindly asked whether a 1pm LCO could be arrange due to the sleep disturbance and was told a solid “no”. A little empathy would be appreciated
#5. In room phone was not working properly. Also again, no one managed to come to even take a look at it during the entire stay.
#6. No acknowledgment of any of the above upon check out (an apology would have been nice)

In summary of the above, I would say I’m most disappointed about the follow up of the issues brought upon the team. I had to repeatedly restate my issues to every staff encountered and there was no proper follow up (let alone empathy) for the stay. If they were to just follow up on my issues, I wouldn’t spend the time to write this lengthy review.

If I had paid less than what I did at WM I wouldn’t be so picky. But for 3k I couldn’t have stayed at other top hotels in Hk and received much more package benefits and service.

On the bright side, facilities like the pool is really worth going for! Breakfast was nice but only a semi buffet so options are quite limited. Rooms are overall quite comfy and staff in general are very courteous and polite.

I will consider returning in the future, however not until much later when they’ve matured in their operations. I thank you to all the hardworking staff of WM and I do hope that this comment is seen as a way of improvement and not a complaint.

The design of the hotel is modern, but the interior design is weird, and the quality of the renovation material is low.
The balcony in the room is big but empty, they can actually buy some cheap and cozy chairs from Taobao to make the balcony more descent.
And we booked sea view room at 1800 hkd , you can see the ocean view, but it’s a bit too close to the street.
The pool has a very good view, no drinking is such a waste, and if you wanna have a sip of your drink, be careful, coz the staff will treat you as criminal, the staff approached us and reminded us every time when we went to toilet.
“No drinking ok? I still see your friend had a sip of the drink.”
I understand the policy, but if she could have told us nicely, our experience would be much better.
however, I saw 3 western guests drank there but no one talk to them, consistency?!

And the hotel breakfast area is like a food court, the fried noodle and the chicken congee are amazingly taste terrible.

Overall stay experience was bad and disappointed. But I have to say, most of the staff are warm and friendly, especially the front desk, concierge and gym counter staff, but definitely not the lady working at the pool, she really ruined my pool experience.

We stayed at the ‘Seaview studio room with balcony’ and this experience was dissatisfying. The setting of the room was different from what was shown on the website.

We feel completely deceived by the photos shown on the website since the main reason we booked the room and paid extra was the open bathtub design as seen on the website.

It turns out that the photos shown as the ‘Seaview studio room with BALCONY’ is actually the photo of the room with ‘ROOFTOP’, while the design for the room with ‘BALCONY’ is basically the same is the lower grade, cheaper ‘green-view’ counterpart.

There are, also, only two rooms with the open-bathtub design shown on the website. This fact was only explained to us by the front desk staff when we went and asked for the reason for such discrepancy in the room design. Having received the complaint, the front desk staff merely said ‘I will see if there are any guests checking out from the few rooms with the design we want and I will call you to confirm whether there can be a change after talking to the manager. Meanwhile, the minibar can be made free of charge.’

In the end, no calls or confirmation were received. This does not only show the receptionist’s ingenuity when responding, it shows the lack of coordination between management and frontline staff.

The problems do not end there. Most staff members DO NOT seem to have received proper training. At breakfast, a waitress stacked a bowl on top of another with soup in. This caused the soup from the lower bowl to spill onto my phone. Another surprising incident was when asked if there is soy milk provided, a waitress responded with ‘I’m not sure’. Those incidents only show how problematic the management or even the hiring of this hotel is.

Considering all mentioned, we cannot see this hotel as a hotel that’s worth staying in.

Dear johnchannel, Thank you very much for leaving your valuable comment. Taking this chance, we would like to apologize for not being able to meet your expectations sincerely. First of all, we are deeply sorry for the inadequate information online. We have two choices of Studio with different bathroom separations to cater to guests’ needs, one with an atomized glass wall and one with an electronic curtain. We have taken note of your comments, and please be assured that we have already updated the information. We were concerned to read your comment regarding the shortcomings of our services. Over the next couple of weeks, we do focus on training the team and your feedback certainly helps us focus on areas that need to be addressed and ensure we will proactively take actions in anticipating our guest needs. Once again, I would like to extend our apology for all the inconvenience and disappointment caused to you. What a disappointment at WM hotel for our anniversary celebration, despite the convenient location, free shuttle bus service to Hang Hau MTR Station, nice harbour view and friendly staff.
The price that you pay for this 5star hotel, you can get better service in 3+ or 4star hotels.

The bad experience started with inefficient check-in procedure on a Thursday afternoon (public holiday on the next day). There was a long queue and even with 4 reception counters, we had to wait 90minutes!!!
Since WM hotel is a newer hotel, it should have considered to invest in few self check-in counters to cope peak seasons and shorten the waiting time.
If that option is too expensive, hotel staff shall be more attentive and offer water or juice to guests, who are waiting in the line.

The room itself is spacious, modern and clean, the bathtub is a bit small but nicely designed.
We booked harbour view room with spacious balcony.
The mattress and bed linen are hard, not soft like in other hotels.

The food variety at breakfast venue was fair to poor, the food quality was not to the standard of a 5 star hotel. DimSum tasted like the ones from 7/11 convenience store, the pastries were not fresh and tasted like from previous day. We felt like having breakfast in a big university canteen, so you can imagine the food quality.

The highly overrated infinity pool was closed during our stay due to typhoon signal T3. Even it was a dry sunny morning with blue sky, the hotel had to follow the rules and kept the pool closed.
The main reason for booking the WM hotel for our anniversary, was to enjoy the infinity pool, otherwise we won’t pay so much for just staying in the hotel room and spending half an hour in the small gym.
For the same price, we had much better experience and perks in other 5 star hotels.

Since, we couldn’t use the infinity pool, we would have appreciated if the hotel management would be more proactive and
offered us compensation like a voucher for a day use at the pool on another day with better weather condition.
This won’t occur extra cost for the hotel, rather they will receive some profit, since we wont occupy any rooms but will order & pay drinks at the pool.
The response of the hotel management was that due to Covid-19 measures, they only have limited time slots for hotel guests and these time slots are always fully booked.
From our point of view, there are less demand on weekdays, therefore the hotel could offer day use voucher for the pool only at non peak times.

All in all, we won’t recommend this hotel if you value price performance ratio and food quality.
But if you are stuck in HK and want to try newer overpriced hotels, then feel free to check out WM hotel.

We booked this hotel for a weekend staycation.

Good things first. The hotel rooms are pretty nice and modern with nice toiletries. The location of the hotel is pretty good, within walking distance of the beach and restaurants. The staff was friendly.

However, there are still many problems at the hotel. It was Friday afternoon and it took us about half and hour for check-in as there were only three counters working. The breakfast buffet was okay - it had a good range of food but the stations weren't refilled frequently enough. What was worst was that there was construction work on Saturday morning and afternoon, loud enough to be heard inside the rooms. I understand that there is still construction work to be done, but I wish the hotel would have chosen weekdays where there are less guests instead of the weekend!
