Wow, wow, wow
Views, F&B, Service.
I would like to thank front desk Ivan for such kind and homey service delivered throughout my stay. If only Marriott kept the SPG thank you certificates, he should definitely receive one. Also, Thea and Alex from the e lounge are exceptionally friendly. Had a nice talk with Thea and hope she excels in this hotel. Thanks Savannah for the birthday card for my friend. He is delighted to receive an early greeting.

This hotel has just opened its doors in December’20 and the facilities are of course new. The design of the entire hotel closely aligns with Marriott’s new ambition for Sheraton. Comparing with the rather historic Sheraton Towers in Kowloon, this Sheraton brings a fresher and more “zen” sensation for travelers. The location is ideal for crews and short layover guests to stay in and shop in the nearby outlet, when travel resumes. At this moment, shuttle service is not in place yet but they will have it, probably later this year.

The room I stayed in is the Deluxe Suite. There are only 2 of this kind so contact the hotel directly for booking. Otherwise, the guest rooms are shower only (except for suites). The suite is very spacious and has a proper dining table for 4. Everything in the room can be controlled via a smart control surface “Simo”. The spotlight of the room is the bathroom. It’s enormous with a huge bathtub overlooking airport and Tung Chung bay. The 2-person shower room is equipped with rain shower and dual body water jets. Overall, their suites are of pristine quality. The guest rooms are generally smaller but still offer rain showers and a very comfy bed.

I also had a chance to try out the Yue restaurant. You have to try their signature dim sum, Yuzu shrimp dumplings. It’s really refreshing.

Best wishes for this hotel in the future and hope to return very soon!

J.

Tung Chung Sheraton is easily the jewel on the crown of the Bonoy collection in Hong Kong. Within a short yet pleasure walk from MTR station, this hidden gem is right next to the praya. A word of warning, there are busy construction sites in the surrounding.

We were luckily upgraded to a junior suite which offers uninterrupted view over the airport island. During staycation, it’s convenient to invite friends to come for drinks and chat over Netflix in the spacious living room. I particularly like the environment friendly refillable toiletries (though they are not from fancy brands). Unfortunately, the mattress is on a firm side which is quite disappointing when comparing with other Bonvoy properties (St Regis wins my heart / dream).

The spotlight is, of course, the Executive Lounge. Unlike Renaissance or Ocean Park Marriott that we’re all like a herd of sheep entering the lounge, Tung Chung Sheraton is always calm that reminds us civilisation. The true sparkle is Alex, the staffer at the Executive Lounge. Alex always goes beyond and impress: unobtrusively he mingled and chatted with all of us, and he cared about our stay and activities. Alex is easily the proud of the property. And this draws us to come back and stay again and again.

This time, we didn’t dine at the hotel (as last time, the manager at Sunset Grill yelled: if you concern about hygiene, buffet is not for you). We’re thrilled that the tiny shopping arcade on the ground floor offers an array of interesting eateries. The Indian grocery cum cafe is a must to check out.

We shall come back again (skipping Sunset Grill).

Dear zyozichin Many thanks for leaving your review here on TripAdvisor. It is great to know that you have enjoyed your stay here at Sheraton Hong Kong Tung Chung. Since our opening early December we have indeed received many positive comments on our Staycation packages and I am really happy to see you also have enjoyed it. Thank you for observing all we can do to reduce plastic usage. The refillable toiletries are indeed something that many of our guests like. I do hope that you will give our Sunset Grill another chance as I am certain this is a one-off incident. We have received many positive comments on the service over the past months so we hope to also welcome you back here. Thank you once again for your feedback and I Iook forward seeing you soon again. This is my favourite staycation hotel in HK because the staff are wonderful and the location and experience make it feel like I’ve actually travelled somewhere for a short break.

For 18 months, Hong Kong’s borders have been sealed to casual travel so hotels have had to adapt to cater for the local staycation market. They’ve done this with varying degrees of effectiveness from the disastrous (the Ritz Carlton check-in on a Saturday was chaos) to the ingenious (the W lets you bring your cat).

Over the summer I stayed at the RC, W, JW, Renaissance, and this brand new Sheraton at the ghost town that used to be Hong Kong International Airport. (The Le Meridien is closed for refurbishment and the Marriott Ocean Park no longer offers Bonvoy elite benefits so no longer gets my money).

The only one I returned to was the Sheraton Tung Chung and it will be my first choice for a return staycation whenever that may be. The hotel scores highly on what I want from a staycation: the pool gets the sun all afternoon and can be booked in advance so you are guaranteed your space; there are activities like the Big Buddha, Tai O, and the beaches of Cheung Sha on your doorstep; and the executive lounge and staff there are fantastic.

A special mention must go to Alex in the lounge who goes way above and beyond to ensure a successful stay and to Velia who was always ready with a welcoming smile.

The hotel is quite accessible from Tung Chung MTR either by taking the regular shuttle bus or by walking through the outlet mall. Either way takes about ten minutes. It’s a new hotel so the rooms and suites are in excellent condition. Both stays we had airport views so we could watch the three or so planes landing each day. Breakfast can be taken in the main buffet and it’s a very good selection including Movenpick ice cream and tasty xiaolongbao.

Being Bonvoy Titanium, I get value from the elite benefits and here the hotel scores very highly with room upgrades and a high-quality lounge service in the evening including three hours of cocktails. If that’s not enough there’s a bar and restaurant district directly outside the lounge that kept us going until bedtime with its eerie view of the deserted airport.

As long as Hong Kong remains sealed off, the Sheraton Tung Chung will be high on my list for a staycation to get away from it all.

I stayed at the new Sheraton Hotel in Tung Chung and it was amazing! From the moment you walk in, you are greeted by staff with a smile that starts your journey on such a positive note!

Cafe Lantau
Given that this hotel opened less than two weeks ago, I am amazed at how seamless the service is. From Stanley, Leslie, Jayden and Chef King, you are in such good hands. The food!! WOW. You must try the mushroom risotto!

Sunset Grill
Food is well priced and the view is amazing. Cosy atmosphere where the staff will always stop by to check to see if you need anything and ask how the food is. I will be back to try it out again!

Lobby Lounge
Small and nicely spaced. Menu is good and I look forward to see what other goodies they may add!

Executive Lounge
The team have the service mentality in their DNA! Being looked after Alex, Angel, Katie and Jayden was an absolute privilege. They are always on point to ensure you have a good stay. The lounge is intimate and the offerings of food and beverage is well thought through as they showcase food from all the restaurants in their hotel.

The Room
Beautifully designed with nice touches. Their environmentally friendly approach starts in the bathrooms where the amenities are good sized and refillable. None of the small bottles etc. The room service is found via a QR code which my girls gave a thumbs up! Suggestion from them is to feature their cookies that are baked on the premises and offered in the lounge...do a Milk and Cookies theme! It taste so good! I had such a good night sleep and looking forward to my next stay!

Overall, I absolutely love the hotel and definitely will be back to stay. The GM Mr. Sander Looijenand his team are professional and dedicated to ensuring the guest experience is a memorable one.

They have definitely done that for us and I am a fan!

New and tastefully furnished hotel. The staff at every turn, from the door to check-in to the lobby cafe to the pool to the breakfast cafe to the operator, put in effort in providing great service which is rare in Hong Kong.

The location is quite out of the way, although a shuttle bus is provided and there are many other good quality restaurants and bars and convenience stores in the same building. Our ocean view room on the 11th floor had a decent vista, but mainly of the airport and interrupted by nearby land reclamation; the sunset view was a surprise.

The breakfast at Lantau Cafe was very very good. The pool and gym were quite small and may easily get crowded even on a weekday. The changing rooms were comfy but the sauna was not operational due to the COVID restrictions. Inside the room, the TV and bedside module (cheapo Chinese-made one) needs to be reconfigured for greater ease of use and functionality, such as HDMI/Chromecast/Bluetooth/Netflix/SpotifyYoutube connectivity, alarm clock, radio, usb charging etc.

Have visited Sheraton Tung Chung for a couple of time since it's new open in 2020. Allow me to share here, that the service and quality of the club lounge have been further extended in 2022, though it was good enough in the past!

The club lounge is always quiet and cozy, which provides a very relaxing area to guests. Not to mention the highlights of this hotel, the outstanding services provided by the club lounge team, especially Alex Chung and Yanli. Alex is very friendly and takes good care of me and my friends. Thank you very much for his arrangements and we enjoyed great moments in this hotel. Quite sad not able to meet Circle this time, who is energetic and smart. Every time I enter the club lounge, I am impressed by their hospitality and I do believe that their warm services and strong team spirits shall be recognised by the senior management team.

Rooms are another focus here. This time we reserved executive suite under the Sumptuous Suite Retreat package. Ocean views are just awesome and stunning! Living room is spacious enough for us five to have girls talk in 2D1N. Thank you very much for the arrangement of the connecting room, so we can move in between two rooms in a very convenient way.

This time we spent the $1850 dining credits in in room dining, and the dishes are good such as the spaghetti aglio e olio and the salmon fillet. The price is reasonable enough and the dishes are all delivered within 40 minutes.

All in all, the suite package is attractive enough for friends staycation so we can enjoy lovely rooms and have non-stop meals since check-in till checkout lol. I strongly recommend Tung Chung Sheraton if you long for a relaxing stay to take a break from work. It would be a perfect choice for platinum or above members, since the club lounge team is really providing superb services! I can't wait coming back to meet you all! Thank you very much! :D

We finished our quarantine stay next door at the Four Points By Sheraton and moved over to stay at the Sheraton Tung Chung for an extra week for an opportunity to explore the area.

There are relatively fewer rooms here, we had both the deluxe room and were upgraded to a one bedroom suite later during our stay. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The added bonus of having two bathrooms in the suite really made our stay that much easier in the mornings. The hotel also offers a shuttle bus ride to and from the Tung Chung MTR Station, a very efficient service.

In terms of food offerings and venues, breakfast in the cafe had a good variety of both western and oriental fare, service was impeccable, friendly and efficient. A must try is the Chinese Restaurant- Yue, dim sum lunch was very good and dinner had a good choice of dishes, all of the food served was delicious. The Executive Lounge offered a good selection of or d’oeuvre during the evening and beverage all day.

Service was top notch right from the front desk staff, concierge staff, Executive Lounge staff, folks in both restaurants and the ladies who did the refreshing of the rooms.

Some folks deserve special mention - Alex in the Executive Lounge, who went the extra mile to help us buy a SIM card for our phone the first day that we were out of quarantine. He went out on the rain during his lunch hour to do that for us. Mathew was always friendly and greeted us by name every time we went in to the lounge. At the front desk, Matthew Wong, Assistant Front Office Manager, who helped us in getting what we needed for our quarantine stay, even before we checked in through emails. Ming at the front desk was also very helpful in helping us arrange for our laundry to be done, this was especially appreciated after our quarantine stay. Angel, a special person, who sent my wife a birthday cake while we were in quarantine and recommended the Chinese restaurant for us to try. Jin Yoo, the Gold Key Concierge was extremely friendly and helpful, she spoke both English and Cantonese fluently, but we were told that she is Korean. Sheraton is lucky to have such dedicated staff.

The Management Team for both Four Points and Sheraton Tung Chung are to be complemented for their leadership. The GM - Mr. Sander Looijen, who is always friendly and approachable, his assistant, Florence Law, who helped us tremendously during our reservation process as our flights have been changed 3 times by the airline and each time she was able to help us make changes to our reservation especially since the quarantine hotel, Four Points is always fully booked. They were being extremely flexible with the situation. Also Eva Lee, Guest Service Manager, who helped us with whatever we needed during our stay.

Thanks to the entire team, what we anticipated to be a stressful quarantine stay which we thought we would need the extra nights to relax and recover from turned out to be a comfortable and relaxing stay the entire time.

I used my Bonvoy points to redeem this stay for two days and it was extremely good experience. I stayed in the Harbour View Room. Despite the fact that it was small (200 square feet), it feels comfortable and the bathroom amenities and shower and sink are all well kept and clean. It’s also an interactive room. The only catch was that I need to manually pull the curtains, which according to the staff was a feature of elementary rooms like mine.

The food at Lantau Cafe (breakfast buffet) Yue (dim sum and other Chinese dishes) and Sunset Grill (Western cuisine) are all excellent. In particular, you can enjoy beautiful sunset of Tung Ching with the Chek Lap Kok International Airport as the backdrop.

I also enjoy the swimming pool which is facing the harbour.

Although its location is a bit far from the shopping area, it has a shuttle bus with frequent service, which is quite convenient.

Staff are in general very professional and its service puts a smile on your face.

Overall, a very relaxed stay, especially given its location I can have a bit of a taste of travelling overseas.

We have originally reserved Sheraton Tsim Sha Tsui but it extended the period of being a quarantine hotel, so we want to try something new and booked Tung Chung Sheraton instead.

Before going to the hotel, we are a bit confusing about the transportation but the pre-arrival email sent by the hotel explained the detail.
The hotel is very new. Room is spotless but the layout is a bit small comparing to other hotels under Marriott group.

However, the sea view is still nice and quiet. Thank you Savanah from Front Desk for the arrangement and your good service.
Even the rooms are bit small, it is still very nice to have 2 sea view connecting rooms for me and my friends.

The pool is quite nice and not crowd. We went at around 6pm and enjoyed the sunset view.
We highly recommend the restaurant Sunset Grill. The interior design looks gorgeous and they have outdoor seats as well.
Food is delicious and in big portion. It worth repeated visiting.

The Lounge offered snacks whole day and it is a nice place to have a coffee.
Frankly, I was so surprised that the lounge is very small. I don’t think it could accommodate all the people when it is in peak season.
Staff there are all very nice, especially a young boy named Humerphy who served me and my friends.

Last but not least, the buffer breakfast in the Lantau Café is properly the best breakfast buffet I have had in Hong Kong.
There are wide ranges of food choices that could made us full till late afternoon.
Even the café is full, service is still very good. Staff change the plates very often and keep refilling the food.
Thank you Eric and Peace for the attentive service.

Tung Chung Sheraton is a nice place for relaxation. I will reserve suite next time for more space and to get a bathtub.

This new hotel located at Tung Chung is definitely an ideal choice to escape from the urban stress. The stay, in general, was above and beyond satisfactory.

Alex from the executive lounge has definitely done an awesome job in managing the lounge (pretty sure that is no news at all). What's further appreciative from guests' perspective is seeing his enormous efforts striving to bring this place to an even higher standard in terms of both soft and hardware. This place is without a doubt the highlight of the hotel.

Other than that, the Sunset Grill located at 19/F also worth visiting. I am sure that you will all be amazed by the high quality of food and beverage (esp. steaks and cocktails), as well as the great services from the staff.

However, there was a slight complaint on the inattentiveness of the staff from the entrance and lobby; this could potentially affect the first impression of the future guests if it continues. Additionally, it would be nice the hotel arranges a regular shuttle bus service as the location is relatively remote.

What is the fastest way to and back from Disneyland? Can we take a taxi or MTR?
Yes the fastest way getting there is either by Uber/taxi, or walk around 15 mins to the nearest train station and it’s two stops from Tung Chung (hotel stop) to Sunny bay then change train to Disneyland
Answer from Mathew O
The Hotel Shuttle Bus operates starting at 06:45am from the Hotel to the Airport. Alternatively, a taxi takes about 15mins and around $60-$80 HKD in total. Our associates are available to help you hail one at any time.
