Hotel's Favourite
5.0 of 5 bubbles
My wife and I first stayed at T Hotel way back in Dec 2014. This second stay at T Hotel was especially special, as it included our 7 year old kid this time round. My wife and I specifically chose back T Hotel for its location to The Peak, as we wanted our boy to experience the hike with us.

Being a trainee hotel, T hotel didn't fall short of its expectations yet again. The hotel trainees, together with their hotel mentors looked after us well. A special shout out to Ms Kenji whom received us when we first arrived at T Hotel at night. Her friendliness and enthusiasm was evident even though it was pretty late into the night. Thanks also to her, together with Mr Naveed whom handled my email enquiries promptly prior to the stay.

Nothing has changed in terms of the transport from HKIA (airport) to T Hotel. Our family of three took Cityflyer public bus A10 which was really convenient for us and our 2 luggages. On the day of check out, we also took the same A10 from T Hotel to the bus stop at Lantau Link, and transferred to another bus (R8) which brings us to Disneyland Hotel at no costs (for R8 transfer). Simple and straightforward, no hassle at all.

Do note that Pok Fu Lam area is not your usual Kowloon or Tsim Sha Tsui. It's kindof a quiet and peaceful area. It's not exactly close to any MTR stations, but for our purpose of hiking up to The Peak, it well met our needs. Not to mention, the accomodation rates is very reasonable and almost hard to match in HK for its size of room and superb room view facing the sea.

For hiking directions from T Hotel to the Peak, you can directly email T Hotel for more details. We hiked up from T Hotel to the Peak and took the tram downhill. To return from the base of the Peak to the hotel, we took the MTR from Admiralty to Kennedy Town, and from there, we took the public minibus 23 back to T Hotel. It was a challenge finding the minibus bus stop, but after some trial and error exploring, we finally found the bus terminal. Ten years ago, T Hotel used to offer complimentary shuttle service to/fro Central MTR, but I believe this service has since been terminated. So if you wish to return back to T Hotel from any other locations in Hong Kong, I suggest you take a cab or to ask T Hotel staff clearly for bus options.

Breakfast, as before, was excellent. I particularly remembered the trainee by the name Billy. He was polite and attended to us very well for the two mornings we were there for breakfast.

Housekeeping staff were good too, and they tided our room daily. We appreciated very much their hand drawn cards for my wife and my wedding anniversary (which now ended up as my boy's personal belongings because he like the drawings so much lol). My only gripe was that the shower gel in the attached shower bottle was not "topped up" the second day by the Housekeeping team. Since I had brought my spare extra shower wash for this overseas trip, it was not an issue for me.

Entry/exit security in/out of T Hotel, which essentially is part of a training institute, is tight and this makes us feel very safe at night.

By and large, I would love to stay here again in future for my Peak hiking experience again. Hopefully by then, perhaps T Hotel could reinstate their complimentary shuttle service, which definately would be a boon to travellers like us :-)

Hotel is modern and clean. Staff are great. Room was large and bathroom had bath and shower. It's not in central location but with $70 taxi from Hong Kong station I would definitely recommend anyone to stay here for comfort and service.
Has everything you need in room for charging electronics.

The T Hotel

Hong Kong

Good Value for $$

If you don't mind the location of The T Hotel, which is situated in Pokfulam and slightly remote from the Central area, it offers good value for the money spent. The T Hotel is a training hotel operated by the Vocational Training Council, the largest vocational and professional education and training provider in Hong Kong. The staff consists of hospitality students who work under the supervision of teachers. All facilities, including the restaurants and spa, are managed by student staff.

I stayed in a spacious Standard King Room with a view of the ocean. The bathroom was well-equipped with a bathtub, complete with a wall-mounted TV, and a sizable shower room. The student staff were pleasant, although occasionally shy. It's important to be patient with them and appreciate that you are contributing to their training process.

We stayed here last year for 3 weeks, and this year we are staying for a month. All the reception and concierge staff we interacted with provide an excellent service, are polite and professional. They go to great lengths to assist with any request. Our room is large and sparkling clean with great views over the towers, sea and islands. Students who provide the dining service have excellent grooming and are responsive to requests. Their English skills are mostly good and they do their best. Breakfast is sometimes a little slow. Transport is very good with several bus routes providing services just outside the hotel.
This hotel provides great value for money and great service. We will stay again.

I have to say that this rates as one of the best hotels we have stayed in. As soon as we arrived, a member of the hotel security team, quickly came over to assist us and guided into the cool air-conditioned foyer and onwards to the main reception where we were quickly checked in before being shown to our room. On entry we were delighted to see how spacious it was and we were immediately drawn to the stunning view overlooking the South China Sea and several islands.
Following a demonstration of the room’s facilities by a friendly member of staff, we unpacked and began to relax.
That afternoon, we decided to try the afternoon tea. The restaurant manager and his team made sure that we had everything we needed, and the food was presented on a tri-tiered stand. The stars of the show were the sweet items. I have recently had afternoon tea at the Savoy in London, and I can honestly say that the sweet delicacies were comparable in terms of taste and presentation.
The one thing that stands out above else about this hotel is the staff. Every member we encountered greeted us with a smile and a friendly manner; the lobby doors were always opened for you and lifts summoned ready for you to use. Nothing was too much trouble, and one occasion, we experienced a minor issue with our shower which was reported to reception in the morning. By the time we returned in the evening, the problem had been rectified, and a letter left in our room to advise us that the issue had been resolved.
On our last evening we booked a table for 6 to dine in the lounge. Unfortunately, several of our party arrived 45 minutes late due to Friday evening Hong Kong traffic, but the table was held for us until they arrived. The dinner and the service was superb and the invited guests (family members) were genuinely impressed with the high quality of the food.
It has to be noted that this is a training hotel for young people wishing to work in the hospitality industry and although not always perfect, they are clearly committed to developing and improving their skills under the guise of their instructors, who are always on hand to guide and advise.
The hotel itself is situated some way from the main bustling areas of Hong Kong but these be easily reached by an efficient and reliable bus service (the stop is right outside the hotel).
Would we stay here again? Yes, without hesitation. We have stayed in many luxury hotels across Europe in recent years, and this is easily up there with the best we have experienced and is quite possibly, my favourite hotel ever!

We are most happy to be back staying at T Hotel. This is the first time that we stayed at a hill-facing room and the experience was great with beautiful view of the hills. The staff at T Hotel was very helpful and warm sharing with us ways to get to eateries like 新兴, and 波记. and we felt like coming back home each time we returned from our shopping and excursion trips. We look forward to our next stay at T Hotel.

The hotel is located in the south side of Hong Kong Island, there are 2 kinds of view, sea view and hill view. This time, I have the privilege of enjoying the captivating sea view above Cyberport. The room is spacious, it is over 30 sq. meters, providing ample space for my comfort. The bathroom has both shower and bathtub, I can enjoy relax time in the bathtub.
As it is a training hotel, the service would not be like a 5 stars hotel, but the students are enthusiastic and eager to learn. This is my contribution to the growth and development of these aspiring professionals.

This Hidden gem of a hotel in Pok Fu Lam, Hong Kong Island, either gets 3 stars or 5 Stars. I cannot understand people complaining about it being a training hotel, you know that when you book. Just spent 6 days there, and I challenge anyone to find a better view from a Hotel in Hong Kong. The view over the South China sea is amazing. Yes the service can be slow, but why not! Menu is quite limited but at prices that are impossible to beat. Breakfast 78 HKD or 108 HKD, continental or American. Most main course dinners come in at between 90 and 180 HKD. The house wine called The Dream is great value at 150 HKD. This is not the first time we have stayed and yes we will stay again. As to the room, on the large size, great Bathroom with TV, good amenities in the Bathroom. Staff cannot be more helpful.

stayed here over CNY for a family visit. the hotel was unusually quiet as I have tried but never succeeded in booking a room here. the students at this training hotel were all enthusiastic and helpful. The hardware is in need of updating, which would have given a better guest experience, plus exposing/training the students to the up to date room tech in hotels.

The hotel staffs are courteous and very helpful. We have been accompanying our mother to visit her old friends who are living in Hong Kong. The staffs took extra care to help with booking of taxi and extra caution with getting into and out of cars.

We managed to tried the food (lunch) twice at the Chinese restaurant this time and was pleasantly surprised that the set menu was different on the two days.

The quality of dinner at thr Lounge was also very good. The fish fillet was cooked perfectly. We enjoyed the bread rolls a lot.

We also enjoyed the spacious rooms here.
