Hotel has yet to refund the remaining amount i prepaid (more than HKD8,000)!!!! It has been outstanding since March 7th!!!!!!! Excuse given is accounting department is slow!! I will never trust this hotel again, could not even perform a simple refund owing to a guest which they had kicked out. I had booked the long stay package for the month of March 2022. 1. Problems with the rooms had to be followed up a few times to get it solved (wrong room assignment, clogged bathroom drains, smelly pillows etc) 2. Was "kicked out" from hotel after checking in on the 4th day with the excuse that they were chosen to be government isolation facility. This is despite the one month contract signed. No other hotel arrangement or compensation offered. 3. Last and the worst - Hotel has the nerve to drag on my refund!! I still need to follow up frequently to check on the status!

This is one of the worst hotels in Hong Kong. I will never recommend anyone to stay there. It just like an incomplete hotel, with untrained staffs and imperfect facilities. What even make it worse is the staffs there don’t even care what problem you encounter or what else they might do to help. All staffs are just unhelpful and passive, would be better if they all replaced by cardboard signs. Please leave your General Managers email in reply, if any. So that I could file a more comprehensive complaint to your senior management.

We booked the staycation package regardless of the negative reviews to see for ourselves just what all the fuss was about. lo and behold, the review was all true Simply ghastly decor, but what was the most disappointing was the buffet dinner & breakfast. Exactly as described by so many social media KOL Uneatable, unhealthy, unhygienic slop Undermanned with attitude Don't bother

As a buffet lover, I have tried buffets all around the world from Bellagio and Cesar Palace in Vegas, conservatory in Melbourne, Pan Pacific in Vancouver to the budget option at Novotel Hong Kong. Cafe A in Hotel Alexandra is by far, the worst buffet that I have ever had. This new hotel started operating its restaurant on 2nd December. I have made my booking and prepaid with credit card for buffet lunch for their opening day. I was very excited about the new addition of this hotel initially. Then I received a call from the hotel 2 weeks prior to my dining date, saying that they have to postpone my dining time from 12pm to 2pm (due to ceremonial events on opening day), and the buffet will end at 3:30pm. That is, I have to complete my lunch within 90 minutes. Honestly speaking, 90 minutes will be a bit rush for me to explore this new restaurant. Therefore I requested to postpone my lunch till 5th December. I have read a few negative online comments on Cafe A (the restaurant at Hotel Alexandra) prior to my visit, however as everything has been prepaid, I have decided to have a try in person. Now let me summarize what happened with my lunch. Good sides: 1. Staffs were generally friendly 2. Grilled beef was nicely done 3. Chinese soup was hot and tasty Bad sides: 1. Uncomfortable seats, too packed 2. Sushi rice was not properly done, not adequately marinated by vinegar and the rice was not sticky at all 3. Cheese options were limited to no-frill types of cheese, includinh sliced cheese 4. Salad bar setup looked like workplace canteen, with canned corn, peas etc 5. Cakes were very dry, not even Maxims bakery shop standard 6. Didn't add coffee liquor in making Tiramisu 7. Only one ice-cream flavour (cookies and cream), perhaps the management is trying to discourage his guests from having more than one cup of ice-cream. 8. Chilled seafood option was quite limited for its price. 9. Extremely slow in clearing up plates, the table is very small and we had constantly five to six plates plus a few bowls on our table. The couple seating next to us told us that cafe A was their worst buffet dining experience too. Now I understand why online dining discussion blogs are flooded with negative comments on this newly opened hotel restaurant. Price for buffet is not cheap for this restaurant. I can easily find a much better option in town, paying an extra hundred HK dollar with snow crab and brown crabs in return (Renaissance), or paying similar price tag but much better quality (Park Lane Playt). I totally understand the difficulties in running a totally new hotel, but most of the time, problems with new hotel restaurant are confined to service or logistics but not food quality. The extremely poor food quality in this restaurant has totally disappointed me. The single ice-cream flavour in a buffet has shocked me, this is never seen on earth.
