We had been recommended this hotel by friends who live in Hong Kong for its brilliant location very near the mid-levels escalator and within easy walking distance of a huge number of restaurants and bars. The hotel does not offer a restaurant or a bar, but quite honestly you don't need them, as everything is on your doorstep. Very friendly and helpful staff.
We opted for one of the superior rooms, which was larger and offered a free 4G pocket device we could take out with us, and therefore did not have to use our own mobile data. We had a corner room on one of the higher floors, with plenty of light as it was double aspect. There were tea and coffee making facilities in the room.

After comparing with other hotels, Butterfly finally became our choice of staycation.
Fortunately, it is more valuable than what we paid. All the employees we met were very nice and tried their best to provide what we needed!
They provided some items that can be rented from the hotel which was very useful.

When we walked around Central and then returned to the hotel to charge our mobile phones and ourselves, the charger and vanity mirror were very helpful during the trip; ) For the location, hotel was very close to the refurbished central market. We joined some temporary workshops and took a lot of photos in the market!
It renewed but still retains some old styles, it’s really fascinating. Butterfly will still be our first choice if we travel nearby again next time=]

I absolutely love this chain and its team, particularly Jordan, Jayden, Carmen, Carson, (I think I got their names right?). The best thing about this chain is you can do 36 hour reservation, from 6am to 6pm the following day, which makes day use totally feasible. During quarantine /lockdowns with restaurants closed, this is super useful for gatherings of 2-4 people. And this branch has a huge family room that is great for its size and location. The only downside is that even though you book the 36 hour reservation, make sure to send a message and let them know when you are going to check in, or your room might not be ready for you. But even so the team will give you an even nicer room to wait in until then - but the downside is you gotta repack and move your stuff again.

Although cleaning is important, but safety is same. Cleaning staff should be placed wet floor signage before mop the floor. Room cleanliness not good. Some black stain in the kettle and bathroom floor sticky

Really enjoyed staying here with my wife. Ideal location. The room was quiet, and clean the staff were all super helpful. The fixtures and fittings In the room were all very high quality and nespresso coffee in the morning was a nice touch. Thank you Ami, Mag, Hugo and John!

As someone who also works in customer service, I am consistently blown away by how understanding, clever, and creative the staff at both Butterfly branches in HK can be in solving problems for their guests.

This time I want to especially thank Ami, Gene, and Annie for going out of their way to find creative solutions to my problems.

Even if a friend finds "higher rated" or "cheaper" hotels, if Butterfly is available, I always tell them to stay at Butterfly. The service, the friendly manner of the staff, and that problem solving creativity, is unparalleled anywhere in HK. (I almost don't want to write reviews, because as Butterfly gets more popular, there are less vacancies and the price goes up (as it should))

Kudos to the management as well, because the friendliness and desire to help is consistent through not only every guest service staff, but even the cleaning people. That requires a maintaining a culture from the top down. Great job !

Decoration is outdate, the hygiene condition is poor as carpet and toilet with hairs and dusty . The hotel room is super small. We never stay this kind of hotel in our life.
Except the location is perfect we can walk around easily and Reception staffs are helpful and friendly.

Upon my first night, the curtains wouldn’t close all the way which unfortunately was disruptive for sleep. I called the next morning to asked to get it fixed and it was done within 10 minutes. Aside from this, the room ticked most of the boxes in terms of cleanilness, noise, and location. Very queit although I was on a high floor and the city had been just opening up for dinners as per the government restrictions. Had a lovely city view facing the IFC with its large windows. Shower and bath amentities are modern with a asian twist.

The frige is quite average and don’t bet on keeping food or beverages very cold.
Coffee machine was a top notich Nespresso machine with 3 pods.

Checking in was extremely smooth and is definitely hk efficiency at its finest.

As for my second night, it occured to me the room doesn’t get very cold even though you set the AC to a lower temperature it seems to stay stuck at 20??? The mattress is medium hard (which is pretty standard in HK) with a bit of a spring to it although it seems old. Pillows supplies are both firm and soft. 👍

Tip: If you need to do laundry, there's a great little self-service laundromat right around the corner near the wet market. Just have your Octopus card ready for use.

All in all , a good stay, and a super great location! If they can fix the AC issue, I’d definitely stay here again!

Nice service!!!
I met Annie & Anthony at butterfly hotel , when I don’t know what to do outside the reception counter as I don’t have wallet with me, Anthony ask what can he helps me there and let me check in smoothly. I booked to stay two night through different agents and Annie let me stay in the same room and ask what kind of food I like in the tea set and try to offer me with my favourite food.
Also, she come to me at night when I need a iPhone charger at 10:30.

Hummm....what can I say is that feel like home with family !

I stayed at Butterfly at Wellington for two mths in Jun and Jul 2022, the location is very central and convenient, the standard room was spacious and clean enough, the bed was back supportive enough and the room layout was ergonomic, best of all and worthy of mention, it was the frontline staff including the housekeeping crew, ther service attitudes are all courteous and very helpful, especially the few whom I remember for making my stay as comfortable n welcomed as possible. Thanks very much to Karen, Lex, Denise, Annie & Ami!
The next I come to stay, it will be Butterfly at Wellington, if not it will be Butter at her other branch hotels.

The windows in our room - which was the top floor - had big windows with a spectacular view. I would assume they all have, but just in case as already mentioned in another comment - put in a note with your booking,

It is a slightly bigger room with a bigger bed. Although the views aren’t great, the position of the hotel is very good, it’s walking distance to central station, the mall and the harbour.
