Booked the cheapest room via online for 4 nights. This hotel is similar to Chungking Mansion where you will have to get/share lifts with the people who actually stayed in the building. The reception located at 8th floor but we were given a room located at 12th floor. It was a decent place to stay although the bed can't really fit with a person who is more than 156 cm height. The hotel however is near to the lady's market and to find a place to eat is easy. Near to MRT station and other public transportation are easy to find. It is suitable for those who are in a tight budget.

We stayed here two nights to try and keep it cheap. Honestly the place is a s#%t hole. We paid almost 50 cnd a night. Pretty ridoculous what you get for your money in HK. The room was like 6/6 feet with two twin beds and a bathroom. Tiny but fairly clean. The room looked new considering at first glance when you walk into the 16 story dirty building where you can see rats running on the pipes beneath you, it was not too bad. We actualy moved further down Nathan rd for two nights closer to the walk of stars and regret our move. More money in another even more shady building full off east indian touts. The building at sun ying does seem to house alot of people and has several hostel options. Some rooms may be better than others from what I saw. Would stay here again just cant get over the cost!

While the rooms we booked were really small (typical of HK accommodations), the proximity of the place to the MTR station and various places in Mong Kok, plus the efficiency of our booking and the kind assistance of the Hotel staff was worth it.

Ordered a double room to myself as i was a solo female traveller, got a cheap price of UK £19, (Tuesday night in April).
I had a late check in organised for 11pm, everything was fine. I was given a toothbrush/toothpaste and a towel and was shown the water heater switch.
All i needed was a place to sleep and shower, nothing fancy, and thats what i got which i was fine with.
The main door is closed/locked on a night and you get your own key for entry if you decide to take a midnight walk.
My room had a tv with approx 3 channels on it, one was in English.
Wifi signal was fantastic, password is located at check in desk.
The room was clean, quiet and i slept really well with no interruptions. I also want to note i didnt see a mosquito or bug of any kind.
I can imagine it might get warm in the peak of summer as the air con system is only small, but id still definitely stay there again.

This is a good hotel if you are on a budget and you do not plan on spending much time in your room.

Positives: The rooms are clean, there is hot water, and the TV works. The hotel is located about a minute walk from the Mong Kok subway station and is also right next to the Ladies' Market. The A21 bus will take you both to and from the airport, which takes around 30 minutes and is a lot cheaper than a taxi or the Airport Express. I got the A21 bus back to the airport on Nathan Street, near the Argyle/Nathan Street intersection. If you find the wrong A21 bus stop, just cross the street and head the other direction for a few minutes and you will find it.

Negatives: The walls are very thin, so it can get a little noisy at night, both from other guests and the Ladies' Market outside. The second time I stayed here I had a room with no window. The vent leading to the outside seemed to amplify the noise from the street below, which was kind of annoying. If you are a light sleeper, probably better to bring some earplugs. There are only two elevators, and you have to share them with the people who live in the building, so things can get a little slow sometimes.

All in all, this is a good hotel if you are traveling on a budget. The rooms are clean, the location is great, and there is public transportation to and from the airport.

Last thing: If you've spent a lot of time on the mainland, and would like to eat some cheap, okay tasting western food, there is a diner-ish restaurant right next to the hotel. It's open 24 hours and serves all sorts of random food, like omelettes and steak sandwiches. They also have good iced coffee.

Stayed here for 4 nights. The room is a bit small but fairly clean. The hot water is good. If you are on a budgeted trip this place is good choice since most of the time you are outside. they allowed us also to leave out things after we checkout.

I booked my double room for two nights only a couple of days before my stay and I have got to say that Sun Ying hosted me brilliantly for the price I paid. The room is clean, everything along with the AC works fine and really I have nothing to complain about. Of course the room is small, but that's what you'll get everywhere in Hong Kong. The building isn't the cleanest or the tidyest one but it gets the work done.

If this were anywhere but Hong Kong I would give it less stars, but when space is a luxury and you want to be on a budget, it will do. Our room was about 6’x8’. There was a twin mattress shoved into the wall with 3 1/2 sides surrounded by the wall. Very interesting. It is in a good location though. The metro is very close and a couple good bars on the block.

Sun Ying Hotel is located at (Reception at Flat 617, 6/F) Flat 609, 6/F, Sincere House, 83 Argyle Street, Hong Kong. It is very convenient since the Ladies' Market is just a few minutes walk. The MTR is readily available and you can taste the HKG night market culture below.

The room is a small HKG accommodation - upon opening the door, it will lead you to a hall then rooms..we stayed at a small bedroom with a sliding door bathroom/shower. It is a budget room, which means budget facilities. The TV is a regular flat screen with limited channels, the heater is busted (sometimes it's working, sometimes it's not) and it has a working A/C. There is no closet, so our luggage became our closet and you can hide it underneath the bed.

Perk: It has a free wi-fi. See the back of the front door for the password.

With 5-days of stay, the staff cleans our room regularly. However, the only English speaking staff is the owner. His employees do know a bit..and can answer only a yes or no question.

Overall, our stay is pleasant.
