I drove by Alva many times, and I finally took my family to try the buffet in Alva. The valet parking was very convenient, and the parking crew was very polite and efficient. After parking the car, we spent some time in the lobby as the green wall and hydroponic wall got my attention. The hydroponic vegetable was interesting and the buffet featured some of these vegetable. There was already a long queue at 6 pm and the buffet was fully booked. I am very impressed with the food quality and choices. The buffet menu is not common, it is well thought and designed. Lots of signature and classic dishes can be found such as Peking duck, foie gras, and roasted lamb. The refilling rate is fast, and the buffet crew deserves a big round of applause. Why? We have booked the hotel with the special promotion rate. It is a new hotel under the soft opening period. I am surprised the hotel has sufficient staff even though it is a soft opening period and they are all well trained, friendly and helpful which are seldom to find in most of the hotels in Hong Kong nowadays. In term of the location, many guests may find it is not closed to the subway station. In fact it only takes about 10 mins walk from the station to the hotel. And the hotel itself do provide shuttle service for the in house guests. And the hotel also provides compliementary bicyle for the guests to use and the top floor swimming pool is very nice. Great room design, very modern, many pillow options, with the iPad for the full control room light, TV etc. the separate, toilet, Shower room Changing room, like japan style. hotel local not in the city main area, but very close traffic to city main area.

Brand new hotel in Shatin, a suburb area of Hong Kong. Some restaurants are not yet opened. My family had a great stay here. Great views from the swimming pool on the rooftop. It was about 23 degree celcius that night and the wate is a bit cold. Not sure whether the thermo was switched on. Free bikes are available for use Supermarkets and train station were 7 minutes walk.
