It was an excellent and wonderful birthday vacation. Highly recommend couples to do a staycation (plus the must-try delicious buffet at Alva House and bike riding experience)
The view from the hotel room is amazing! We enjoy very much the view of the river side and mountain. The suite that we got upgraded was huge. Love the spacious living room with TV ( has movie channel ~). Modern design of the bathroom with good water pressure. Mini bar is included. The washing machine (with drying function) and the cleaning powder absolutely help!
We were lucky enough to get the bikes in the last minute to ride along the river side. This is a very leisure activity that I would suggest couples or families with kids to do. You can either do it in the bike riding park just opposite to the hotel. Or you can ride all the way to Tai Wai and Tai Po if you start earlier in the afternoon.
The hotel also has other facilities like the swimming pool and gym room. Don’t forget to drop by the garden at 3/f, a pet friendly garden to chill out.
The Alva house buffet is REMARKABLE. Finally we got to try after seeing a lot of good reviews /comment online. Wide varieties of seafood (oyster , crab , mussel, sashimi, etc), cooked food (foie gras)and dessert!! Although the restaurant was full house, you can still get the oyster in SUPER short time. That’s what I only concern ;). And they got some homemade gelato (lobster taste is fun to try). I think it provides good balance between seafood and cooked food. Anyway, my boyfriend and I enjoyed very much the buffet. And OpenRice offers the 20%discount off during our stay period.
Last but not least, the hotel staff are super nice and helpful. They help me to check the Alva house buffet availability when I wrote them an email for assistance. I am a last minutes fighter to arrange the birthday dinner but failed to got online reservations. The staff does not only help to get the seats but also gave us a surprise by upgrading the room with a lovely bday banner deco. So sweet!!
The overall experience is perfect and wonderful (it would be even more perfect if the bed can be bigger, haha) . I would definitely come back again for staycation.

This is our second long stay at Alva Hotel by Royal and each time was 30 nights.
The room (apartment with queen bed) is modern and spacious. It has lots of storage space which is good. With long stay package, microwave and small fridge freezer are also provided. The hotel also provides free shuttle to Shek Mun station, Royal Park Hotel at Shatin New Town Plaza and Kowloon Station (at different times) which is very convenient.
And above all, the most important is people at the hotel made you feel very welcoming and comfortable including telephone operators, housekeeping staff, front office, concierge and restaurant. In particular, we would like to show our appreciation to the following staff who are went above and beyond:
1. Eric at Front Office: Eric is very professional and efficient.
2. Ivy at 10th Floor Housekeeping: Ivy is always carrying a pleasant smile with a very genuine and polite attitude. She keeps our room really tidy and clean.
3. Tommy at Housekeeping: Tommy is very nice and helpful.
4. Apple Ng at Sales: Apple is always quick in responding and very professional.
Overall, the services are exceptionally satisfactory and we will definitely choose this hotel again.

Free bikes (with a deposit), a roof top pool and striking distance of great hiking, the Alva wasn't a hard choice for our second Hong Kong staycation. Business seemed good, and it wasn't possible to book a table at the Japanese restaurant while we were there, or to use the pool on our first day. I'm pretty sure we were shortchanged on our room too, as we should have had a `mountain' view rather than a bus terminus. But we came for the hiking and biking, and for that, I can't recommend a stay here enough.

Stayed one week at the end of the year 2023. Room was bright and comfortable and faced the cycling park across the street. The floor to ceiling window gave a gorgeous view of the river and the surrounding neighbourhood. There was a lot of storage space in the room, which would make a longer stay possible.
Bathroom was bright and clean, with a great number of hooks, which was a rarity these days. The shower was difficult to operate at first but they did provide clear instructions. There was no body lotion in the amenity box but one could request for it from housekeeping. The hairdryer was fixed to a drawer in the bathroom, which was a bit inconvenient.
One thing that I found strange was that they did not put bin liners in the rubbish bins, which made it difficult to keep the bins clean. I had to specifically ask housekeeping for bin liners as I wanted to throw out my own rubbish. I also found out that they just threw the stuff I put in the recycle bin into the same bag as the rubbish.
Staff were not very professional. When I asked for simple information at the reception (e.g. shuttle bus time, bike rental arrangement, etc.), they often asked me to go to the concierge. I sometimes got conflicting information from different staff. Staff also seldom offered information voluntarily. I felt like it was easier to get information myself from the hotel website.
The lifts took a long time during peak hours. I waited for 5 minutes on the ground floor once before a lift arrived. The card readers in the lifts were also not very sensitive, which meant that people sometimes missed their floors (I saw it happen a few times during my stay).
All in all, ALVA Hotel was a mid-range hotel with pleasant rooms but could do with better service and management. The room price was exorbitant during the holidays (over $2,300 per night for a standard room) but was reasonable on off-peak days.

This new hotel is conveniently located in the New Territories, close to Shek Mun and City One MTR stations. There's also a bus stop right out the front, giving access to most of Hong Kong. Amazing views over the river and to the mountains beyond. Friendly staff and attentive service. Beautiful amenities including rooftop pool, loan bikes, co-working space and coffee machines in each room!

Outstanding service with clean environment! The room was clean , tidy and spacious.
It is so convenient to have Yata in the hotel, and a cycle Park nearby. We borrowed the bike from hotel for free!
I got hurt when I went cycle and asked the hotel staff for help, “CHUNG” came immediately and help me to clean uthe wound patiently. He did caring how I get hurt and taught me how to treat wounds. Really appreciate of his kind attitude!
Also, we had enjoy a nice dinner buffet in Alva! The food are fresh and delicious! Expressialy the oyster and Foie gras！
This is a very pleasant stay! Highly recommend!

There are some highlights & lowlights, my rating should be between 3 to 4
Highlights 1. As we booked the hotel for all our travelling colleagues, we were served directly (Perman), she has provided the required support to ensure our bookings are good. She has been accommodating as there were some changes before we reach. 2. Staffs are friendly, whether at the front desk, restaurants, etc 3. Bathing equipment is quite impressive, with few choices of showers 4. Specially arranged take away breakfast, as we need to leave early to catch a train, thus we were unable take our breakfast in their operating time.
Lowlights 1. Breakfast to me, not up the standard, coffee is not good 2. Surprised that there is no laundry service, need to purchase token to do ourselves 3. Probably not the issue of the hotel, however, didn't have much shops nearby, the store at the ground floor close at 9pm
Overall experience is still good, especially they are located walking distance away from our office.

We stay at Alva Hotel to celebrate my nephew’s Birthday. The Macaron tower birthday cake was super delicious. The newly hotel is stylish simplicity, clean, and comfy with a nice river view. Free bicycle borrow was a bonus, all bicycles are new and also come with locks and helmet, we had a nice rid from the hotel to Tai-wai.

My wife and I chose to spend our 10th wedding anniversary here. The front desk staff was very polite and responsible, and took the initiative to help us upgrade the room. The department manager (Miss Jenny Lam) helped us solve the problem and patiently We serve. The upgraded room this time is the quality of the apartment, it is very spacious and comfortable. We have stayed here many times and really like it very much. I highly recommend a good place for travel or leisure.
