Staff are charming and helpful when I called in. Check in staff are young and cheerful, even they all put on mask due to covid-19. I requested a queen bed, but they gave me two beds with an upgrade to high floor with nice view, it is okay and the mattress is very comfortable and good. I stayed on 19/F with a view of river, looks very spacious. Compared with other hotels, they are using less amenities, no bottled bath gel or shampoo. This is good environmental practice to save plastic bottles. I must say the shower is exceptionally good; they call it therapy shower, strong water pressure with light aroma. Surprise that the distilled water, drinks in fridge, tea bag and Illy coffee capsules are all free of charge, it adds the value to what I pay. There is no 7-11 near hotel, so there are some vending machines on G/F which provides some drinks, snack and battery charger. The big Sony TV is very good function and I can play mirroring with my mobile and watch YouTube. There is also an iPad on the table to control the light and air con in the room, very high tech. You must visit the roof pool, the view in day time and night time are magnificent, you can see the Shatin area clearly. I checked out at noon, the staff told me to try the self-check out machine at lobby, less than 1 minute and no need to queue up, very good. I will definitely recommend this hotel and come back.

Stayed at the Alva for 5 days. Checked in before the usual check in time and was given a room which was great. We were able to leave our luggage in the room before we made our way up to 28/F for lunch at the Japanese restaurant. Loved the lunch sets, nice big portions, tasted good.
We brought our own bikes and parked them at the spaces outside Pitstop for free. Very convenient and we were able to fully benefit from this and cycled around the Shatin area during each day of our stay.
Hotel is very new. Close to Shek Mun and City One mtr stations and walkable distance to restaurants if we didn't want to eat inside the hotel.
The Chinese restaurant was very good. Their special dinner set was good value and delicious.
The breakfast buffet had a good selection and relatively cheap at $128 compared to other hotels.
Rooms are quite small though comfortable. Their idea of saving plastic bottles deserves mentioning. We were given glass jars to get water from the water machine located on each floor.
Overall the staff were all helpful especially when we arrived and they helped us with our foldable bikes and set them up at the parking spaces.
Improvements: Staff at Pitstop and the reception could be more friendly but acceptable. We were not aware or told that guests had 20% off at restaurants until we saw their notice boards, nor asked at check-in if we wanted to purchase breakfast at a special price. I had to go and ask the reception on the 3rd day and was given the special price.

What a stylish and cozy hotel !!! The room is spacious , neat and modern. Would like to name the front desk staff Erica, she is professional and polite , she upgraded a nicer room for us as it is our Anniversary . Unfortunately, that room was too smelly, maybe the previous guest smoke in the room , then she promptly changed another river view room for us , thank you so much Erica! The room is so well equipped with iPad , USB plug, the TV can be connected to your mobile except Netflix . The hotel is so sweet ,each room with two foam pillows set up which was added value to my stay. One thing would like to point out is the drainage clogged in shower room , it seemed quite serious, my husband just took around 5 mins shower , the shower room already fully filled with water, and soon, it spread out to the toilet area. It was a bit late , we don’t wanna bother your team and change room again . I have to wait around 20 mins till the water ponding disappeared , then my turn to take shower , which was a bit annoying. We did report the case to yr staff upon check out , she was nice and extended apologies immediately.
Other than that, overall are good ! Can’t wait to be back and try your apartment next time !

A brand new hotel just opened at End of 2019, that mean you can get a sparkingly clean new room. Part of the hotel rooms surrounded with theraputic greenery mountains and river view, while partly surrounded by industrial buildings, so do check in advance with hotel to know which view you are getting. I especially like the fresh real flowers and plant grown outside and inside the premises, super high ceiling lobby also did a great job for giving residents a sense of open space. Thanks to a Japanese architect doing such design. I also like the launderette facility, a rare case for hotels, it's very convenient for guest staying more than 1 week. Big credit to the bicycle team, they provide bicycles for guest to explore the area, which there's a best outdoor cycling tracks in Hong Kong. I wish there's more rooms have bathtub rooms to choose(beside their suites), less in~room technology function (causing EMF annoyances), better water pressure, better restaurant services. Last but not least, a BIG round of applause to Guest Experience Manager Anya, and her colleague Yannes, always show good understanding of guest request and talk with guest with heart, with a good products knowledge and follow up requests promptly. I wish both of her every success.

We got to know about the hotel through friends of ours who were going for their second stay at the hotel. Their raving review managed to convince us to try out the hotel ourselves.
PROS
The hotel is nicely located by the riverside and have a lovely panoramic view of Sha Tin and Ma On Shan from a distant. We had booked the river view room and requested for a high floor. The view of the river and the mountain in the background is really picturesque and calming. The hotel is also conveniently adjacent to YATA minimart where we got ourselves some instant food, drinks, and a bottle of wine.
The room is compact in size with a simplistic minimalist design. Not to mention impeccably clean. We appreciate the strong water pressure and good shower design. The smart TV was working perfectly with HD channels, though no CNN channel. :(
We utilised the free bicycles to cycle along the riverside until we reached Sha Tin, such a memorable experience.
The pool on the top floor is of a good size, and the perfect lookout spot for planes passing through in the sky.
We spent some time at the outdoor garden on Level 3. It’s a hidden gem and a very nice cozy place to chill and relax.
We ordered takeaways from the Chinese restaurant, and every dish was simply delicious.
Good sleeping experience. Plush pillows and duvets, soft linens, and comfortable mattress. We had to lower down the temperature though, because even 20 degrees felt a bit warm.
Breakfast was good with decent spread.
CONS
Location is not really accessible as they are not close to mtr station, so we decided to uber from home.
While we were advised to make bookings due to limited slot, we were surprised to see a huge crowd came in at the exact same time as us, so many that some didn’t even have a chair to put their belongings. Seems like there’s no crowd control almost.
The hotel need to get more English speaking staff on the floor as there seems to be limited number of them.
The bicycle though usable, they don’t look like very well maintained. Also, the hotel doesn’t provide maps for riders. That’s a real let down.
When we were about to collect our food from the Chinese restaurant, we were then told that one of the dishes is not available as they found out that the raw material is not fresh anymore, they suggested us to choose other dish. Mind you, this is after waiting for 1.5 hours for the food. We would appreciate an advance notice on this, not at the very last minute.
Despite all the setbacks, it’s a nice hotel to stay in. Overall, the hotel offers value and we really enjoyed our stay.

I am coming for celebration with my girlfriend this time and the main reason for choosing this hotel is the high opinions of the dinner buffet, but I never expected such a wonderful staying experience I’ve encountered afterwards.
First of all, I made the booking in the middle of August and I contacted hotel weeks later for a few enquiries. Fiona Chan / Duty Manager answered all my enquiries in details with her patience, thoughtful and truly congrats for our celebration. During the conversation, she was aware of my plan for swimming after breakfast on the departure date, she immediately help me to reserve the swimming pool and even proactively offer me a late check-out which makes us have sufficient time to refresh and tidy up before departure. What a considerate arrangement!
Upon arrival, we were greeted by Toni / Concierge at the lobby shortly. Toni is very funny and we have a nice chat while waiting for check-in. Then we were checked-in by the receptionist who is friendly, efficient and professional. And I was told that our room was upgraded to a suite for our celebration which surprised us a lot.
The room is spacious and spotless clean with stunning river view. Using iPad to control all the electric devices, facilities and lighting in room. Much appreciated to arrange this luxurious suite for us. But the surprise doesn’t come to an end. While I stepped into the bedroom, I found there was lovely special decoration was set up on the bed and the TV cabinet, meanwhile someone rang my bell and sent us the “Macaroon Tree” as welcome amenities. That really makes our trip unforgettable !!!
The dinner buffet is one of the finest I’ve enjoyed. Variety of selections, delicious and severed with quality foods. The environment is comfortable with great services as well. Even though we are coming with relatively high expectations but it really didn’t disappoint us at all.
The Fitness room is adequate and well equipped along with the swimming pool which is located on rooftop with gorgeous view.
Upon departure, Toni recognize me immediately in the lobby and enquired me about my stay as well as direct me the way to the free shuttle to city centre.
I wanna give a big thanks to Fiona in person, I keep searching her in the lobby but I later known from reception she is in overnight shift. Hopefully I can meet her in person in near future.
Apart from mentioned staff, you can also see managers & lobby greeters station at the lobby and all of them are willing to provide assistance and big welcome for every single guest. You will definitely feel the attentive & heartfelt services during your stay here. Highly recommended !!!

I was very happy with the service we received at the Alva Hotel. The hotel was comfortable and clean. Amenities were top notch. We traveled with a baby and they had a baby bathtub for us to borrow and offered a crib if we needed (we brought our own pack and play). The front desk staff was courteous and gave us suggestions for places to go. The front doors were always opened for us as we came and went.
Our luggage was delayed coming in from the airport and then one piece was missing. The staff called the airport for us and located our luggage quickly.
Taxis had a little trouble finding the hotel because it’s so new. It is located really close to the river so if you are willing to walk, there are many shopping centers within a miles walk for food and shopping, some right by the train station. It’s a very quiet and safe area to walk.

Celebrating the anniversary with my hubby last week and was lucky enough to be upgraded to a better room. At midnight a weird cigarette smell was found and the front desk staff tried their very best to help find out the problem and kindly offered another room to me. We had a very lovely stay in the Alva Hotel! The room was fabulous, very clean and luxurious. We pool was observing the one third capacity booking system which worked perfectly and we had a full 45-minutes swim with just ten other lovely guests! We had a very small issue with breakfast which Jenny resolved beautifully and with no fuss...thank you so much Jenny! Everything felt very Covid safe...the cutlery in the restaurant was even wrapped in cling film! This is a great hotel...you should stay here!

Stayed here in mid-June for 4 days 3 nights, delighted to have the room facing the river on a high floor.
Quite surprised with the room size, room is spacious comparing the average hotel room size in hk. Room is well renovated. Room equipped with smart home system, you can use an iPad to control everything in room, like the lighting system, TV and air-con.
Minibar with 3 complimentary drinks, no room service, but you can easily find the vending machines at lobby that sell mostly all you need at reasonable prices!
Best part is room was the shower, they are using water therapy shower head that you can totally recharged after a long day!
Also tried mizutani, the Japanese restaurant on top floor, in-house guest can get a 20% off for all outlets. Mizutani omakase was amazing and very delicious!
My whole stay was taking care by Himson from front office, thanks for his hospitality, he always being polite, humble, being flexible for the arrangement throughout my stay, I enjoyed my stay very much, fully recovered! :)
Definitely will recommend my friends to stay at Alva, and I would like to try their suite next time! :)
