I had a pleasant stay in here.. I went with my 6yo daughter.. Hop inn have everything we need.. The microwave.. Tea and coffee and sugar for free.. Or you can wash and dry your dirty laundry on their laundry room.. Including iron your clothes.. I will stay in here again when I visit HK..
There are a few problems that i will mention which some people might not like. However I’m not a very picky person so it was fine for me. The great thing is the stylish decor and the friendly atmosphere of the lounge. The service was great, as is the amenities downstairs, which surprisingly goes unmentioned. Depending on the rooms there, the drawback can be the lack of cleanliness and the quality of staff. Perhaps that is why it’s not mentioned? That said, it can sometimes be a hit or a miss, but usually it is a hit with some discernment.
The place is hidden and a bit hard to find. The hostel is very small and tiny. De rooms are OK. If you have a bunk bed you have curtains so be sure to ask for that. The common room and bedrooms are very cold because of the air conditioning. Close to the centre. The rooms have seperate bathroom and toilet so that's a big plus. No showering on the toilet.
I had a really enjoyable stay in this hostel - I highly recommend the private rooms as they are reasonably priced and quaint. The hostel is right in the in middle of the main island so you have easy access to the shops, markets and ferry to HK island also. The staff were super helpful, explaining where the key spots were to visit and also giving my direction/ storing my luggage. Highly recommend!
The good: This hostel is in a fantastic area...close to many HK attractions, parks, the harbour, good food, and the subway. The hostel itself is cute, clean, and quiet. The dorm I stayed in had an ensuite shower and toilet, a window, as well as big under-bed baskets to secure bags in, so that was really nice. The (moderately) bad: My main complaint is the bunk bed set-up in the female-only dorm. There are privacy curtains around the bottom bunks, but not the top bunks...so the people at the top are completely open to the room, including the bright ceiling light fixture when anyone comes in and turns it on, or uses their reading light at night. The bunks are also pretty squeaky when you move around on the top, or come down. Overall these aren’t deal-breakers for me, but adding…
My 2nd time staying here. I am very happy with how simple it is... showers were comfortable and private - played the guitar in the lounge. Front desk girl was stellar- helped with food and travel. Comfortable hanging out - bed slept very well... even a bunk!
Hop inn was one of my most comfortable stays. The common areas are the best with comfortable seating and things to do. Locationally everything is near by and if you want to party in LFK take the the metro which is 200 mts away. The staff here was very warm and welcoming, helping us with all our queries.
The location of Hop Inn is very convenient. It is in Tsim Sha Tsui, known as TST, the commercial heart of Hong Kong. Every inch of this area has street food, restaurants, bars, shops of all sorts. It is walking distance from the piers to catch a boat ride tour or ferry to other towns or island. Taxis are everywhere and have counters. The underground access is 2to 5 minute walk. Foreign brands sold in surrounding malls or brand name boutiques are expensive. There are hundreds of inexpensive local fashion and souvenir shops. Restaurants offer all types of Asian food. Local specialities are very greasy and can be tasty but not always. The 4 bedroom we stayed in had comfortable beds, basic ensuite with Shower, TV, table and AC which you control. The room and the whole place is kept…
Not one of my favourites hostels, the location is quite good but it's quite compact. You can't expect a spacious hostel in the heart of the city but the rooms are small for 6 bed dorm. Staff is friendly, washrooms are clean. Overall experience was decent but I would highly recommend to do an Airbnb rather than going for a hostel in Hong Kong. You get much more from a BNB at the same price and similar location.
The staff is not so friendly, only the man behind the desk is friendly. The womens are infriendly, did not feel welcome to ask a question. They are calling behind the desk, looking for an hotel or vacation. Not nice. Also the beeping system on the doors are very annoying, every morning we became awake because of the non stop beeping. The private rooms are expensive 500$ for 6 nights. Booked with booking.com, did not know we had to pay 10% service charge!
