The caretaker of this hostel is a Filipina, so it's an advantage for us Filipinos to communicate and get things right. Plus when I reserved for this booking, the person I exchanged emails with can write good english.

For the room, we had a double ensuite private room, was quite small, we barely had space to move because our luggage already occupied the space provided. BUT it was alright since it was clean and we didn't really plan on staying at the hostel the whole day. The aircondition was good, cold even.

Wifi access was also good.

I read one review about bugs.. well voila! We didn't experience that at all.
They also sell discounted rates for Disney and Ocean Park.

Location is really great. It's just near Mong Kok Station. Just go to EXIT D2 and walk straight where the sign goes Argyle Street. Do search on the net a picture of the 2 entrance of this building. One opens 24 hours, the other is from 7am to 11pm. Once you have a picture, it's easy to locate!
I hope this helps.

It was quite hard to find as it's on a really busy street and the building is full of shops (although this might be normal for budget hostels in HK). We went in and asked security, who were helpful and showed us the way.
The lifts aren't that reliable so be aware that you might have to take the stairs and the hostel is on the 9th floor.
Upon entry the hostel isn't much to look at, but the lady at the reception was nice and helpful. Note that you do have to pay a 100 HK dollar deposit for your room key in case you lose it. As a group of 3 friends, we stayed in a family ensuite, with a double bed and a single bed, and a bathroom. The room was very basic, as was the bathroom. Our hot water didn't work, and as is quite common here, there was just a handheld shower head over the toilet, which can be quite challenging. Overall our stay was fairly good, but there are definitely better places to stay.

We stayed at the City plus hostel for 3 nights. although, one cannot expect a spacious accommodation from a cheap price but it surely served the purpose. we were only there to sleep. the bed was comfortable enough, the shower (hot and cold) was working, the aircon was functional. The WORST part was that, there were BED BUGS!!!! At first, I noticed only one bug crawling....but later that night, my roommate saw more bugs crawling everywhere...she spent many hours searching for the other bugs and trying to kill them. we informed Dina, but she insisted that it could have come from us. Though she sprayed some insect repellent but it did not solve the problem. we ended up coming home with red rashes....bite marks from the BED BUGS!

The place itself wasn't bad but our room was one of a kind. Sometime through the night I thought my knee was going through the bed and I'm not sure what was going on above us but it sounded like rents being done all night. There are at her good places to stay in this building which I recommend.

City Plus hostel was recommended by a friend which was perfectly located near the Ladies Market. It was, I think,a 5 minute walk. It was also a minute walk to Nathan Rd. It's the main road where you can ride a bus or the MTR. The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable enough for you to sleep. At night, it was peaceful. Our landmark was Partick Chan. The hostel was right infront of 7/11.

The receptionist is a Filipina. She's very nice and accomodating. She will give your instructions and discounted tickets were also available from her. We didn't get any hassles upon presenting those tickets. :)

The location is Great! It is so near the MTR Mongkok Station and the Night/Ladies Market.Near 7-eleven, Mcdo. Clean Room and Fast Wifi. The Toilet is a bit small but this is a budget traveller hostel so you don't expect too much. If you are just looking for a place to sleep and nothing to fancy. This is the place to stay!

On our last morning, we told friendly receptionist Dina we'd check out after breakfast. My new expensive Bose headphones were the only valuable thing we left in the room. Later, we discovered they were missing and, in front of her in the office, we unpacked our bags three times and thoroughly re-checked the tiny room twice. Absolutely not there. Gone. Dina said, "Maybe I'll find them when I clean your room." When we picked up our bags hours later, Dina said, "Here. I saw them right away on the shelf." Believe us, they were not on the shelf. We are convinced she took them. She must've felt guilty and returned them to us. Wow.

Thanks to Tita Dina, the kind Filipina receptionist at City Plus Hostel, we had a comfortable stay in Hong Kong.

We availed the room good for three persons. Beds are comfy, esp the comforters. Clean comfort rooms with very good heater & shower.

We asked for an extension cord to accommodate charging our phones since there is only one electrical socket in the room. Good wi-fi connection in the hostel too!

The hostel is also just across the Ladies' Market. What more could you ask for? :)

Overall, I highly recommend this place for backpackers or with friends! :)

It is a great place to stay...it is exactly the same as what you see in pictures.

Their best asset is the Filipina receptionist, she is very accommodating and she goes out of her way to provide assistance.

The location is near in a lot of nice spots in HK. I will definitely stay again in this hostel.... :)

Room was tiny and expensive but we expected this for HK. Good location in Mong Kok, close to MTR and KCR stations. Owner was helpful and got us some discounted tickets. Good wifi, reasonably comfortable room but it was really, really small. Toiletries provided. A bit noisy, could hear the streets even though on 9th floor but we were able to sleep through it fine. Good for the price.

"There is a high probability that prices were elevated for the New Year period, but I have also been told that Hong Kong accommodation prices are generally expensive compared to other nearby areas, including mainland China. If you are booking for holiday periods or major events, book early! Some rooms are very near the main door (Room 3 and 2, I believe) and, therefore staying in one of these could mean a restless night. Personally, I prepared and wore ear plugs. Plus, given our stay was during the festive period, I slept deeply due to (moderate) alcohol consumption."
