Checked in room at 15:00 and staff in a suit, storms in the room without a reason while wife is in the toilet. Asked for an explanation and all got was a apology in broken English. In a 4* Hotel would not expect a member of staff to storm in a room without knocking on the door. There’s a door bell for a reason. Using his key, to automatically assume no one was in the room, No respect for guests at all. Hotel decor is nice, nice staff on front desk however staff is utter lacking in Hotel service. Went to complain on front desk and asked colleagues the name of the staff, who is apparently the Housekeeping Supervisor, named Andrew of which makes an error such as that. If staff are trained like this, then this is lacking in service industry. After a night of feeling unsafe, unsure if the male staff, would storm in any moment while in the room. The never morning see him shouting and yelling on the 3rd floor lounge, spitting food and not wearing a mask in at the time when not eating breakfast, which of course again made the experience even more scarier. Payed for a night to stay in a hotel, would have been better staying at zoo. Don’t waste your money! If you want to stay in a hotel for a peaceful night sleep.

We stayed at one of their suites (at the 25th flr if I remember it correctly). Since there is only one suite per floor, we felt safe enough. It was very spacious! We were a family of 4 with 2 toddlers and we love our 4-day stay here. We can't forget the friendliness of the reception officers, the amazing dimsum restaurant right next door and the hundreds of little shops surrounding the hotel. It's also a 2 to 3 min walk to the nearest MTR exit. How convenient is that?! We wish to stay again here if given the chance to travel to HK again. I just hope businesses will thrive because of the damages done by the Covid 19 to the worldwide economy, not to mention the strict travel guidelines. Thank you Akvo for giving our family a wonderful unforgettable first time out of country travel experience ♥️

I stayed at the AKVO for 2 weeks for business in both the Garden and Executive Suite. I had previously stayed at other properties in Central and it was impossible to find a decent room without overpaying by quite a bit. I happened to choose AKVO simply by word of mouth so my expectations were low. Let's just say I was blown away by how good AKVO is. The service was top notch all the way through, from the cleaning staff to upper management. The suites themselves were the same as or beyond any other 5 star hotel I had stayed in Hong Kong (including the top range of the big chains) The design and quality of the materials, the furnishings, lighting, flooring, technology, shower-head, toilet paper, etc. were all top-notch. I learned that this building was first intended to be luxury apartments but converted to a hotel quite late, which explains the quality of the fittings. The Executive Suite on a high floor has a gorgeous 270 degree view, plus a very enticing sauna, which I sadly did not get the chance to try. The Garden Suite on a lower floor has no view but a large verandah plus outdoor jacuzzi. This was the main difference as otherwise they were quite similar. Personally I preferred the former as it was much brighter with natural light, rather than looking into office buildings. The Garden Suite could really use an awning as well to give some privacy. Location wise, it is a 10 minute walk to the Landmark in Central, is gastronomer's dream. There is so much to choose from within short walking distance in every direction and I basically ate a different cuisine every meal. Like others have said, this is a small boutique business hotel, so do not expect a pool, room service or so on.

Located in Sheung Wan, you can easily walk to the IFC mall, the ferry docks, Hollywood Road stores and much more. Staff are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Rooms are well equipped with Dyson hair dryers, cappuccino makers and rain-style shower heads.

So let's start by saying that this is not a full service hotel, meaning, no gym, pool, etc...BUT it is low cost, clean, comfortable, the front desk staff are very VERY friendly and this hotel is central to everything, including probably one of the best dim sum restaurants in central Hong Kong. The MTR is just one block up as well. I gave it 4 stars just because my the view is basically looking into other buildings, but that is pretty minor. I would stay here again for sure.
