The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. The hotel has a nice ambience and the pool was relaxing and has a nice garden area behind it. I was very satisfied with the dinner and breakfast buffet, both had a good selection of food. Staff were helpful. Will definitely stay here again.
BAD POINTS Areas of the hotel were dirty. Service took a very long time. Facilities were closed or full up. Room lacks modern entertainment options. Extremely expensive. GOOD POINTS Staff were friendly. Food was very good in both restaurants.
Reserved one night for celebrating my daughter’s birthday. Easy to go by bike and the friendly staffs at the concierge will assist to storage the bikes. We were surprised by the spacious guest room plus the spectacular view of the sea. The swimming pool is amazing. Special thanks to the manager - Leo and the concierge - Kin, your kind arrangement impressed my daughter so much.
I was checked in speedily to a nice, sizeable room with mountain views. This place was also close to my work so it meant I could have a longer sleep in the morning which was nice. The restaurant staff were helpful and I enjoyed the food. Everything started off so well but then some standards began to drop, I guess you could call it the domino effect. Firstly, I was awoken on my third night at 4am to the sound of a loud TV from another guest - I can't very well blame the hotel for the rudeness of another guest, but it was irritating and of course I didn't want to change rooms at such a late time in the night. When I returned to the hotel after work, I explained that I wanted to move rooms for the upcoming night as I didn't want to risk another night of disturbed sleep. The receptionist obliged kindly and asked me to wait for 20 minutes in my room while they arranged and readied the room for me. After 1 hour and two irritated phone calls from myself wondering why I was told to wait for so long, I was finally taken to my new seaview room. The room was fine, it was smaller than my last room, but what was annoying is that someone had clearly smoked in this room (hence why the wait time I imagine was so long). At this point, I couldn't be bothered to change rooms as I didn't want to spend another hour or so having to wait for a room change. As I was only staying one more night, I decided I'd go down to the swimming pool bar and enjoy some drinks by the pool that evening. A waitress in the restaurant showed me to my table outside and gave me a menu. Despite their being a bar outside, there was no bartender. 15 minutes later, no sign or trace of a front of house staff member could be found outside. They just decided to ignore the fact that I was outside, which really irritated me. I left the venue and explained to the restaurant manner that I was purposefully neglected and left in a huff. I thought that I'd order room service and proceeded to order a bottle of sparkling wine that I had seen on the bar menu downstairs. However, this wasn't available as room service (despite coming from the same restaurant) so I had to go back downstairs and order it and then ask for it to be sent to my room! The same restaurant manager could see that I was irritated so he sent me up the bucket of ice and glass which came after I arrived back in the room. Despite the flaws, I did actually enjoy the hotel and realise that my review reflects mainly on the problems. However, in hindsight the hotel was still nice and spacey The food was good too - particularly the burger! I would return, I just think more attention to detail here is lacking. Please don't put non-smoking guests in smokey rooms, or at least clean the room out thoroughly and offer another room in the meantime! Funnily enough, this is the second time I've stayed at a Hyatt hotel and had to be moved to another room, only to discover that the room I'm being moved to had been smoked in!…
I stayed at Hyatt Shatin from 10 to 11/6, a double bed room with lounge access. The staff there were very caring and provided good support to me. Special thanks to a staff who discovered us leaving a computer pad during the afternoon tea. She recognized me at night when I went to get some drinks and returned the pad to me. Other staff I met were also extremely friendly including the staff at the cake shop and Sha Tin 18 (called Susan if not remember wrongly). Only things I would like the hotel to improve is the quality of food supplied at the lounge. The choices during breakfast and afternoon tea were also very limited. This didn't encourage me to get a room with lounge access next time. Compared to the customer service experienced I had more than year ago, it has improved a lot. …
Hotel is in Shatin, although in the New Territories but now very convenient with the new MTR east rail line. Rooms are specious and large compare to those in town and very reasonably priced. Staff were very friendly and helpful, especially those in the Regency Club. The hill view suite has a nice view of the pool, looking out to a small waterfall next to the rail with a corner of race course. Lovely little getaway from town for a nice relaxing staycation.
Hotel well situated for exploring rural areas. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Interconnecting King rooms with hillside view provided good sized rooms for family with an open view. Rooms were spotless and amenities excellent . Would highly recommend getting Club access as well worth the extra cost.
Large and clean room. I stay there to relax. The check in was slightly longer than expected as due to the government requirements in filling the requied form for tracking. Apart from that it was smooth. I will definitely stay there for longer period if I have the time.
Great service as always. Had been upgraded to river view king room and that is a nice surprise. Good selection at buffet breakfast. Desserts at Shatin18 are particularly delightful fusioning the east and west.
Took connecting rooms with our son. We were all very comfortable and steps away from the MTR to Admiralty. Very enjoyable stay and a great location. Would definitely consider staying at this hotel again.
