The recent three-day stay at The Murray in Hong Kong left an indelible mark for us, traveling with a baby. The room and impeccable In-Room Dining service contributed to an exceptional stay, showcasing the hotel’s commitment to excellence.

The personal touch from Eric, ensuring a separate sleeping arrangement for the little companion, went above and beyond, significantly enhancing the overall experience. Karen, handling the departure with efficiency and comfort, added to the positive impression.

Despite a usual preference for exploring different hotels, The Murray’s outstanding offerings have convinced the reviewer to plan a return visit on the next trip to Hong Kong.

What a service, what a place! Thanks so much!

The Murray Building was a government office prior to converting to a hotel, and my late father worked in the building before, so I was always interested in visiting. Murray Building was designed with its windows meticulously oriented to avoid intrusion of excessive direct sunlight. This design won the Certificate of Merit of the Energy Efficient Building Award in 1994. The hotel kept its original design as part of the conservation project.

We joined the historical tour on Sunday (prior reservation with the hotel and it was free of charge) and were shown around the hotel's facilities, and how it was like before as an office building. The tour was about 30 mins or so and it finished at the Garden Lounge with their own crafted beer by a local brewery!

We came back on Monday night for a staycation for our wedding anniversary. We had a great welcome by Anthony (Guest Relations) with his cheerful personality. The staycation package itself was of great value as you get complimentary breakfast, as well as HK$1,200 dining credit. We chose to upgrade our room to the Signature Suite at a small cost which was totally worth it. It was spacious with an amazing view of the city, perfect for a night of celebration!

Our dinner was at the rooftop restaurant Popinjay, amazing view with all the sky scrappers around, delicious food and great service by the team! They also served complimentary shots at the table, doing all the mixing in front of you by Daniel (I hope I remember the name right!).

We returned to the room and the team surprised us with a chocolate cake and decoration for our anniversary - what a lovely touch.

The next morning we started with the breakfast at Tai Pan, went for a walk outside (gym and swimming pool are closed because of Covid-19), returned for lunch at Tai Pan and finished with an early dinner at the Garden Lounge. A full day of eating and we were very impressed by the friendly service throughout. It was such a lovely experience and we would definitely come back again!

Heritage Government building transformed to a 5 star luxury hotel by great work of Foster and Partners. Modern interior design on lobby and room, The room is very stylish and the room service was great. Customer service staff is well train (Doris and Christoper) but All front desk were very super friendly (except Niki) . Room service was quick and helpful, I stay with my dog and they provide all facilities that doggy needs (doggy toilet) in room, space to walk, dining area (out-door), We have a great time.

The MURRAY hotel provide TRUTHFULLY pet friend experience compare other brand new one in TST, make so much sense on room sitting, space and dining area for owner and their doggy together to enjoy a great vacation time.

All Pastry food are great, but their all savoury dish (CHEFS) need to be serious improve (even some basic options, seasoning is blank and wrong), garden restaurant's service is significant inconsistency, full of flaw one service, no anyone serve you after they lead you to the table, after 15 mins no not any single tableware provide after made an order, when they serving buffet and I can't eat with my selected plate of food! no spoon after they serve a soup and not any any cup of water either, no any napkin, all those items I have to requested it one by one...

I spent 3 nights at the Murray and I wish I could stay longer...everything in that hotel is perfectly handled, from the check in, to the spa, to the roof top bar, there's not a single thing I could complain about. The rooms are very spacious and superbly furnished. We had an amazing rain shower and a stylish bathtub enclosed in a glass space that felt like we had a private spa. The steam room and sauna are in private rooms that you can book so that you can actually enjoy some peace and rest int he company of your significant other without being bothered by anyone. And last but not least the exceptional care the whole staff takes in making all your wishes and desires come true. They are professional, always smiling and very helpful. I'd recommend you all to stop there next time you're in HK.

We chose to stay at the Murray to mark our final stop of our three week holiday at the end of December. We couldn’t have been more thrilled to end our trip on such a high note! What a perfect choice for our return to Hong Kong! The property itself, possibly one of the most stunning and architecturally pleasing luxury hotels we’ve visited, is well appointed in every regard. The subtle touches - from design and decor, to food and beverage, to amenities and service - were much appreciated and very visible.

Check in was seamless and we had the great pleasure of interacting with Frederic, Guest Relations Supervisor. He made us feel welcomed and looked after us from the onset. He graciously checked us into a larger room and personally showed us to our room. He checked in throughout our stay and was an extreme pleasure to interact with.

The room was regal, incredibly smartly designed in a extremely pleasing aesthetic. Marbles, high gloss finishes, woods and gold accents make for a strikingly gorgeous, modern stay. One of the most comfortable hotel rooms. Every single detail and use of space is thoughtfully considered.

Food and beverage was divine throughout our stay. Breakfast at the Garden Lounge was immaculate with a tailored selection at the Breakfast Buffet, along with plentiful a la carte selection. The best Dan Dan noodles I have ever had! Drinks at Poppinjays, well crafted with unique interpretations on its cocktails. Beautiful views, great service - hands down our preferred rooftop now in the city.

Location of the hotel couldn’t be more perfect and ideally located, especially with such easy access to Hong Kong Park.

Service up and beyond. Staff are extremely thoughtful and go out of their way to ensure a pleasant, memorable stay. Great restaurant recommendations from concierge too.

Moving forward, whenever we return to Hong Kong, the Murray will be our new preferred property. We cannot wait to return!!!!!! Thank you!!!!!!

Just returned from a 6-night stay in The Murray. As before the experience was impeccable. The attention to detail all round the hotel was exceptional and while the service was attentive it was very subtle and understated.

The breakfasts will still be the best hotel breakfast I’ve ever had.

The rooms are extremely tastefully finished to a super high quality.

The gym has everything you need. I used it every day and got a nice little note from the staff encouraging me to keep up the good work.

The pool was a nice surprise as I hadn’t tried it before.

We ate in The Tai Pan one of the evenings and the food was exceptional - way above expectations. It was quiet in the restaurant but the staff made up for it and made every effort to make sure we were comfortable.

The bars did lack a little atmosphere but it was quiet in HK due to the New Year and folks were being cautious about the Coronavirus. Not much the hotel could do about both of these.

I really do look forward to returning to the best hotel I’ve ever experienced. Thanks to all the amazing staff for making the stay so comfortable.

Dear All,

We absolutely loved this hotel, right from the welcome we received when we first arrived right through to the day we were checking out. We stayed for 4 nights. The hotel is literally a stones throw from Central. We found everything within walking distance from the hotel which was really good.
The room - Big comfortable bed, choice of pillows, quite a thin duvet. Big TV. In room safe, Nespresso machine, free water. 3 different varieties of tea and the coffee pods for the nespresso. The toiletries provided in the bathroom were all top quality, Vanity Kit, Shower cap, Facewash, Body Lotion, Shower/Bath Gel, Shampoo & Conditioner, shawing kit there was also a mending kit & shoe shine mitt in the drawers in the bedroom. I am sure you will understand what i mean as to how precious this was !!! no worries about getting the remnants of your make up on the white towels.Bathrobes & slippers were also provided in the room. The lighting and the blinds in the room were all controlled by a panel either at the bedside on on a wall in the bedroom.

Breakfast was good, selection of smoked salmon, salami's & meats, Asian breakfast etc... Cheeses about 4 types, some fruit, yoghurts, fresh bread & pastrie, a selection of juices, tea's & coffees. You could also order hot breakfast items from the menu on the table. Good hours of service too 7 until 10:30, Perfect.
(Just personal things to share I'll definitely support my wife to apply a Pastry Chéf position in The Murray, Hong Kong, a Niccolo Hotel! :)

They also have the rooftop bar you could have a drink inside or outside if the weather is okay, i would advise to book as lots of people come in from outside too this isn't just a hotel guest bar. The views were amazing from the first and second terrace, definitely say to go and see that even if you don't have a drink there.
All in all it is a lovely hotel, the staff are very friendly and can't do enough for you which makes the experience all the better.

Anyway, we decided to go back after our Macau trip for one more night in the new year and the staff was more then welcome as like real home!
We were absolutely surprised Mr Lester Lee and we are more then thankful for your humble and proactive crew!

Best regards and see you soon in Hong Kong!

My company will be having a dinner event in one of private venues at The Murray, for this reason we were being invited by the sales to a food tasting session in Niccolo Room. The tasting was turned out a decent experience, first of all the room was spacious and elegantly set up, the servers gave us warm welcome and they were very attentive. We had a tailor-made Chinese menu for trial, surprisingly the food was very delicious and was nicely presented. They did better than the 5 star hotel where we had our dinner event last year. I would recommend The Murray if you are looking for a quality choice.

I stayed in the Murray for staycation and anniversary celebration, and it was an excellent experience.

Check-in
The lobby is not huge, yet I still feel spacious thanks to the high ceiling and subtle front desks. I like the hotel tries to reserve some seating area even though under limited space.
Anthony took great care of me and check-in was swiftly done.
He then guided us to the room and introduced the room features in detail.
Showing us where the charging plugs were, how to control the curtain and the magic glass really saved us time to figure out by ourselves.
With the anniversary decoration, Anthony also was very kind to help taking photos.
I am impressed by his outstanding service.

Room
I am so pleased that the hotel upgraded our room to N2 and with the wonderful anniversary decoration, and an anniversary cake!
The bed and bath are great with nice magic glass.

Not sure if it is specially designed or not, the hot water tap of wash basin is more resistant than cold one. It is safer and allows me to tune the warmness easily.

In the evening, a lady asked for making the bed for sleep with sleep mist.
It was nice, and we only took the mist, which was very pleasant and did elevate our sleep.

Historical Tour
The historical tour was out of my expectation and turned out to be quite fun.
Aliz was our guide and knowledgeable to introduce the hotel's history, design, architecture and arts.
In particular, she highlighted the hygiene measures, such as anti-bacteria/virus ventilation filter and spray in the room. This made us much more comfortable for the stay.
She managed to making the tour interesting, and was very friendly to help taking photos.

Knowing that Murray allows pets, I am surprised that the hotel is able to keep everywhere clean, and throughout the whole stay, I didn't feel disturbed by guests' pets.

Dining
We had dinner and breakfast in the Tai Pan. For the dinner, we love the Lobster Caesar Salad, Mahi Mahi, and especially, the chocolate cake.
For the breakfast, there were lots of choices from continental buffet to hot dishes, in which the Asian choices were nicely done.
We had the afternoon tea in Garden Lounge, and the scones were delicious in particular.

Hygiene
Under the pandemic situation, the hotel did sufficient measures, not only checking body temperature at entrance / restaurant, but also providing enough hand sanitizer in public area.

Room for improvement
After finishing the historical tour, we went to the lift lobby, but immediately stopped by a staff, as if we were trespassers.
He looked very serious and was only convinced by seeing our room card.
Though security is vital, I wished he could be more friendly.

It was a nice city escape in The Murray. I would like to take this opportunity to express my compliment to your team. It is a heartwarming high serviced hotel located in the heart of the city, beside from the Luxury outlook of the hotel, we were impressed starting from the nice greeting at the entrance of your bell-person, to the Front Desk, thoughtful suggestions from the Guest Services team, and delicious food from restaurant.

Please assist to deliver our sincere appreciation to the treasures of your hotel, here are the persons that we could recall, Sales person Keith that we met in the lobby by chance, he gave us a professional and detail hotel tour to let us know the best spots of the property. He made us feel very comfortable staying here when knowing there is someone very responsible to his guests. Also, Kwan from the Front Desk showed the best profession of his position and a delightful birthday greeting once we met. Lastly, Chendler and Linda from the Tai Pan were cheerful, they helped us to capture the best moment by photos during our dinner and breakfast time so that we could memorise this lovely stay.

The Murray would definitely be one of the best hotel that we would recommend to our friends and family.
