Stayed here during summer for 3 months. A very convenient location with the tram stop at the doorstep and Wanchai MTR station 3min walk away. A food haven. Food stalls, cafes, restaurants, supermarket, banks, tour agencies etc are in the vicinity.

There is complimentary coffee/tea and grab-and-go breakfast consisting of croissants, bread, cereals, juices and fruits on weekdays. Life saviour especially when one has to rush off for work in the morning. The lobby area has a very cosy setup and is good for chilling out.

Other facilities include small swimming pool with sun deck chairs, gym and a rooftop terrace. There is cleaning service + change of bed sheets twice a week.

The apartment is made of good soundproof material, and is quiet except for the occasional ding-ding sound coming from the trams.

Great hospitality service showcased by the efficient staff who is ever ready to assist when required. Special thanks to guest relations officers- Wayne (also your patience in fixing the wifi issue) and Gloria. Your extra small gestures like asking me on how my day went and greeting me by my name made my stay feel more like home.

PS: Some suggestions- rubbish in the room can be cleared more frequently, eg thrice a week. And different variety of food at the breakfast bar, eg egg tarts/ buns/ congee on alternate days.

I have just loved the past 6 months in Hong Kong where I was fortunate to have stayed at the Johnston Suites in Wan Chai. The location is just perfect, with a tram stop right out the front and the MTR just a few minutes walk away making it really easy to get to work and to go sightseeing. Fantastic restaurants and bars are all within walking distance as are shops, markets and Wan Chai Gap Rd for those that like to hike. The staff are also really friendly and helpful. I would be happy to stay here again.

I stayed here for business for 5 months and it was a home away from home. The beauty of the location is the fact that there is a clear view out over Southorn Playground, and the closeness to the MTR, Tram (right outside the door) and the buses to Stanley. It is so easy to get to places from there.

Whilst I was a bit surprised by the smallness of the apartments, I realised that, by Hong Kong standards, they were large. It was well laid out with very good facilities - the bed and bedding are the best I've ever had in a hotel/apartment. It got cleaned twice a week and the ladies doing it was great - very friendly and professional. I was on the 18th floor and wasn't bothered by the noise from the street below, although I'd hear a tram bell every now and again. The ladies and gents on the front desk were professional and friendly and extremely helpful. They always said hello and goodbye.

I loved the pool - yes it is small but after a day at work it was great to just sit in and splash around. And the gym - again small but has what I needed. There is also a rooftop terrace but I never got to use it.

The only negatives were - my shower, great pressure but kept going hot then cold then hot etc. Frustrating but manageable. And in the 5 months I was there I think the pool was only open for 1-1.5 months as it was being refurbished and then had to close due to scaffolding next door being taken down. And wasn't open on Saturday afternoons for a few hours when it would have been great to use it. That was disappointing as I chose the apartments because it had the pool.

Those a 2 minor gripes. Overall I had a fantastic time there and can't thank the staff enough.

In the past three years I have spent a total of 13.5 months in this serviced apartment complex. I could not have asked for a better place to stay in Hong Kong, with a short commute to Central for work and even shorter to a great night out in LKF or the bars of Wanchai and Happy Valley/Causeway Bay. The staff are fantastic and welcoming and became real friends that I looked forward to coming home from work to! I even got to know the lovely cleaning staff who are delightful. The room was comfy with separate sitting room and kitchen with all the amenities you need to feel like you're properly living there. Room servicing every other day means it doesn't feel like a hotel and you still have the convenience of not having to clean the bathroom yourself! Very very very highly recommended to all!

Stayed here for a month and so glad that we did. Good location - 25 mins walk to Central and 25 mins walk to Causeway Bay, very convenient. Cleaning done twice a week and cooking facilities are quite good (an oven would have been nice if I'm really picky, but so far I haven't even used the hob!)

i start with the good points of this service appartment :
- Situation very convenient : MTR - Tram
- Room Size

But apart from that this service appartment is very very very too noisy It was terrible. Lot of work in process inside the hotel and I think it will take a long time again. They work even very late in the evening and sometimes during the night !!!!!

Dear Jess L, Thank you very much for your time to give us feedback on your recent stay at The Johnston Suites. I am sincerely sorry that your staying experience was not completely enjoyable due to the noise. As you may know, we have carried out enhancement work for the outdoor swimming pool to ensure that the facilities are in excellent condition for our guests to enjoy. The work would only start from 9:00 am to 5:00pm during the weekdays and no works would be carried out after the aforementioned period. As stated in the guest notice, the enhancement work will be completed as scheduled by the end of May 2014. Thank you very much again for sharing your thoughts and views. Please rest assured that we shall work harder in our endeavour to improve our services and facilities to make our serviced apartment a home away from home for our guests. Moreover, we will perform site patrol more frequently to prevent any noise and disturbance, especially during the night time. Looking forward to welcoming you again at The Johnston Suites in the future! Best Regards, Jeffrey Chuan General Manager The Johnston Suites Hong Kong

The Johnston Suites Hong Kong is a serviced apartment with prime location. It is just a few miles away from the Wan Chai MTR station and it is close to everywhere for shopping, restaurants & bars (Star street) , entertainment, etc.

I've been here for 2 months and the stay was really enjoyable. All staff were friendly and helpful, especially the reception and housekeeping. The room is well-designed and spacious. They have 24-hour gym room and a out door swimming pool ( it was closed during winter so i didn't use it). They also have a nice rooftop leisure area where you can grab a drink and enjoy the view.

Now I 've found a permanent place to stay in Hong Kong. However, I will definitely come back to visit them again and I will recommend this serviced apartment to anyone coming to Hong Kong for a short stay.

I remembered to take the photos whole checking out hence the mess.

Location - Location wise johnston is more than perfect. The tram stops right outside, the mtr is a 2 min walk across the street. The wan chai market and lee tung avenue are a 1 min walk. Few months ago 5 gives opened up nearby as well.

Amenities include a gym. While we there one of the machines was not working. There used to be a pool not anymore. There two outdoor place on the same level as the gym, entry is through the gym. But the garden section that used to be the pool area on same days was closed at 7pm. Even though there was no notice or sign about it.

Room - We were on the 18th floor which had a nice view facing the southhorn playground. The room size is decent considering Hong Kong. There was a 2 in one washer and dryer. The fridge is small so you can't keep much which is difficult if you cook a lot.

Service - I did not like the cleaning service. They only provide cleaning twice a week. Many other service apartments provider daily cleaning service. Once they did not do a good job and I complained to the management, next thing the maid is knocking in my door to pick a fight with me asking why I complained. I think the management needs to handle these matters better.

There is a roof top place to hang out but it's just okay. Over all location and room size is what puts Johnston in a good rating.

Location wise it's excellent, right in the centre of wan chai with what seems like a million bars and restaurants on your doorstep plus the MTR station and tram less than 100m away.

My serviced apartment was a L shaped studio With sliding door separating the bedroom from the lounge and a cool swivel TV so you can watch TV in the lounge or in bed.

Everything worked in the apartment or was fixed immediately if it didn't, very quick laundry service , all the staff, without exception were helpful and very polite.

It's really expensive to stay here but that's typical Hong Kong and it's in line with other serviced apartment prices locally.

Happy to recommend just make sure your companies paying the bill !!
