To get to the lobby, there is a flight of steps. Not ideal if u have a heavy suitcase. Be prepared to be NOT be greeted. Be prepared for sulky receptionists with very little patience for questions.

The room is really small. When 1 person is walking around the room, the other person can't. we didn't even have space to open up our luggage. It is not as near to the mtr as stated, and can get quite tiring to walk back after a day out. Not to mention, the lift broke down on our last night.

The good aspects of this hotel is that it has all the necessary supplies such as shampoo, soap, toothbrush, shower cap, bottles of water, bedroom slippers.

The water pressure is good and there is a glass door separating the shower area from the toilet bowl n sink area so the area will not get wet.

Overall, not a bad hotel located in a overall safe environment. But prob better to find one at a better location nearer to a mtr station.

Bridal Tea House at Anchor St is a real gem. The price on Agoda is lower than it is on the Bridal Tea House chain website and is a real steal for people on a budget. The rooms may be small but it can hardly be described as a 'con' - you are getting exactly what you're paying for. There is still space for 2 full-sized suitcases to be opened on their side and for the 2 guests to walk in the room. The hotel itself is a straightforward 5 minute walk down Anchor St (which merges into Mongkok Road) to Mongkok MTR and there are lots of cheap and good local food eateries along the walk or near the MTR at the famous Ladies Market.

I found the Bridal Tea House to be completely satisfactory for $38USD (found on Kayak). It was spotlessly clean, great water pressure in the shower, comfortable (if short) beds, nice sheets and pillows, and a cheap $30HKD breakfast.

The rooms are tiny, but welcome to Asia, and the bathroom as relatively spacious. Not a particularly busy street, so the noise didn't bother me.

Some downsides to consider:
- No wifi in the rooms - you have to be in the tiny lobby or in the breakfast room.
- Not near the tourist sites.
- The nearest MTR station (Olympic) isn't on the Express Line from the airport, you have to transfer, which adds 20 min to the airport.

Worth checking out.

We paid $150 a night for a room - too overpriced. There is a small service elevator that is supposed to take guests up to reception but it does not work - so be prepared to lug your suitcases up a flight of stairs --- and NO ONE on staff will volunteer to help you much less apologize for the lack of a lift. We booked a queen sized bed and upon arrival were told they only had twin beds in the rooms! Our room was so small it was a challenge to find a place to put our suitcases. There were 2 twin beds, one of which backed up against a wall - I am 5 feet 4 inches tall and my feet were touching the wall. The other bed had a small desk at the foot and a very small flat screen TV. There were 2 windows in the room, one small fridge and a hot water kettle. They gave us Fanta (no kidding) and a couple of white bread sandwiches for breakfast - that we had to eat in the room. There was no one who could speak English when we departed in the morning but they called someone on the phone who translated for me. Told me to go to the Kowloon Airport Express station to go to the airport. I think the Chinese-speaking receptionist on staff tried to tell me we could take a bus from across the street that could take us to the airport for HK$14 a person. Anyway, we ended up taking a taxi all the way to HK International Airport (cost: HK$210: note taxis here charge HK$10 per suitcase) - for 2 people I think it amounts to the same fare as the Airport Express train because Kowloon is closer to the airport than Hong Kong.
The hotel is walking distance from Mong Kok - which was literally a zoo on that Saturday. There is a Ladies Market there, full of cheap merchandise and knockoffs (bad imitations - don't encourage the piracy by purchasing them!). Lots of street food available, if you're brave enough to try them. We met a couple of expats from Vancouver who were in line for what they said was a Hong Kong delicacy - intestines! We of course politely declined. There was a fruit market that sold the best guavas we ever ate, a live seafood market that shocking displayed shark fins, and a local dessert place where I gorged on mango puddings. Lots of live musicians, even an acrobat and several street were closed to traffic. If you want to know what itis to be a sardine in a tin - visit Mong Kok on the weekend --- or any part of Hong Kong for that matter. This is truly one of the most densely populated places on earth. But it is a great example of how a hard working, disciplined people can create a city that can run efficiently, despite over-population.
Anyway, location-wise, if you like shopping (bargains and high-end items) then you will find the area great. If you can't stand supercrowds, then avoid this place. If you cannot stand the idea of staying in a room as big as a walk-in closet at home, then look for another hotel.

- Close to MTR stations (two stations). Quiet area
- Rooms too small, but given the price, it's reasonable bargain.
- Too many chinese tourists, ruining the place, they talk too loud, no manners.
- Bed is comfy, room is generally clean. Staff is helpful.

I give it a 6.5/10.

It's for budget travellers.

Our stay at the Bridal Tea was nice. Though the room was small, it was really clean. The beds were more comfortable then the guesthouses. It was a better option than a guesthouse, and close to all the shopping in Mong Kok.

Pros
Location wise is convenient to the MRT. Within walking distance. Room and toilet are clean and toilet is sufficiently equipped. For the (budget) price, the hotel is a 'stand alone' hotel with its own block of building. Most other hotels with similar price range are located in those big blocks of 'mansions' which do not feel safe and look a bit dodgy. This hotel felt safe.

Cons
The room (twin sharing) is extremely tiny. No space to open up your luggage other than on the bed itself. Beds are also tiny. Not a good idea if you are a tall person. Mattress and pillow not comfortable. Hard and flat. Room is dark (lights are not bright enough).

We enjoyed our stay here. Sure the room was small, but we weren't planning on playing football in it. Was very clean and had all the conveniences we needed (shampoo, electric kettle, water bottles, house slippers). Reception was helpful and the location was convenient to Mongkok MTR. Also, bus A21 to airport stops one block away! 33HKD per person to the airport, much cheaper than MTR and you only have to lug your bags one block. Probably would stay somewhere with a bigger bed if you are over 180 cm tall.

Stayed here for a 2 night layover between Europe and Vietnam and i didn't want to pay 1000HKD per night for a hotel in kowloon NOR 200HKD for a crappy hostel so we ended up here.

Positive:
*Clean
*Good location(5 min walk from Mong Kok station that has it all + a cool local Chinese market)
*Great shower. Good presure and hot water. Fix the shower handle holder as the pressure was so strong the handle turned up and showered the whole room. I love that water pressure.
*Clean bed towels and tidy room.
*Free Tai Chi morning show on the sport field across the street from 7:00

Negative:
*Small bed (I am 185cm and my feet were sticking out over the edge)
*I have had better breakfasts in the army during missions. This breakfast is ridiculous. Lettuce (not salad) Literally lettuce and tomato, reheated eggs crappy orange powder juice that can give you cancer and dry white bread.and some sausages or something. Costs 67HKD if you don't stay there lol.

For 450HKD a night in December a proper breakfast wouldn't bankrupt the house.
I know HK is expensive but come on.

PS: Pay the deposit in cash (500HKD) or wait 4 weeks for your money back.

Bridal Tea House is located in Mong Kok, 10 minutes walking distance from the underground. We had a room on 6th floor with nice view on school's playground. The room was very small what is rather normal in HongKong but it's OK if you don't plan to spend whole day inside. If you want to spend more than few days it becomes claustrophobic a bit. Room was cleaned each day.

Generally the hotel was clean except one dead cockroach we found on corridor one day. Also we had a small gecko in our room but it's nothing bad.

There's free Wifi Internet access in the lobby and ADSL in the rooms. You can order cheap continental breakfast in the hotel's restaurant.

I would recommend staying there for budget travellers - and I will stay there on my next trip to HKG.

It would be easier to take the Airport Express and mtr to Olympian City. From its just across the road. There is no direct bus and with luggage busses are not very convient.
