The first time for me to ever write a review (I spend up to 80 days per year in hotels) but I feel I owe it to other potential customers... If you expect "Hyatt standards" do NOT book this hotel. We had a very frustrating experience last weekend. We had booked a harbour view suite for a staycation, living in Hong Kong ourselves. According to booking the suite should have been available from 14:00 onwards. We arrived at 14:30 and were asked to do the check-in at the executive lounge. Once there and being attended it took the staff around 10 minutes to inform us that our suite would only be ready after 17:30! We were offered a standard room with two single beds on the lowest floor to wait until the suite would be available. We decided to accept it. At 17:30 I approached the check-in desk again just to learn that the suite was not yet ready until around 18:00. I was also informed that we would find some wine and food in our suite to compensate for the delays. What we then found once we had access was a bottle of rather cheap red wine (HKD 70 / EUR 8,-) and a "fruit platter" with each one banana, apple and orange plus a few grapes. What a brutal disappointment! Even worse: the time from 17:30 to 18:00 we decided to try the "benefits" of the executive lounge..: disaster again: as of 17:32 there was no more "food" available since the lounge was crowded with guests. Each time some food tray was replaced it was literally emptied before the staff had a chance to set it down on the desk..., reminded us of lion feeding in a zoo. Why was there not enough food served from the beginning if the hotel knew perfectly well from the bookings (and experience) that the lounge would be crowded??? Since there was no self service option for drinks of any kind (except for soft drinks) we asked for a Gin & Tonic. It took the staff nearly 15 minutes to serve us a Gin. The tonic we needed to fetch ourselves from the fridge the. Would you believe that? The second (and last) G&T took again more than 10 minutes to be served. All in all a brutally poor experience, especially when expecting the same level of service which we are used to from other Hyatt Hotels in the region. Frankly, the sum of incompetence we suffered from spoiled the staycation we had so much been looking forward to. Very sad.…
Never got upgraded (for more than 10 check in over 5 months 2020) to standard suite as promised by World of Hyatt program as the suite inventory were miraculously "sold out" on day of check in but was still available for sale the previous day. The hot dishes (e.g. Char Siew / Chicken) in the lounge were not replenished at a reasonable frequencies. More than 50% of the times I'm greeted with empty pots. I heard many guest requesting the staff to refill the hot dishes. So much so that a queue is quickly formed when the chef brought out the pots of hot dishes. Maybe it's a delayed tactic to cut cost. The lounge staff were always busy chatting with regular guest or no where to be seen. So it's difficult to order refill where their alcoholic drinks could only be served. The lounge staff has the authority to charge me without any signature acknowledgement on the spot. They were generally unfriendly to most except for their regular guest. This overcrowded lounge situation is partly due to hotel selling lounge access for 2 for HK$ 400. The rooms were old. Windows not cleaned. I've seen left over items from previous guest during 2 of my stays.…
Staycation at Hyatt Regency for 2 nights with harbour view! Feels like home when entering the room and it’s clean enough. We didn’t include breakfast this time but hopefully we will come back again and try!
Fantastic club lounge staff, great location for local extended stay/business work environment. Good quality and value for money. Better than expected food within neighborhood. Great harbor views if you want a run or stroll!
Hyatt Regency Tsim Sha Tsui in Hong Kong disrespects World of Hyatt benefits, as mentioned numerous times in the reviews around. I'd like to stress upfront that the World of Hyatt loyalty program is a marketing product to provide an incentive for travellers to stay in their hotels, not a gracious generosity from the corporate. You stay 10/30/60 nights a year, you get the added benefits, it's just that simple. I also want to add that other Hyatt properties in Hong Kong (GH, Sha Tin HR) actually honors the membership statuses and provide the benefits. I have stayed a number of times as a Globalist in this hotel for its location (and for their benefit of the doubt), not one time had my room been properly upgraded, unlike other Hyatt properties in Hong Kong. Without fail, every time I check, all their suites become unavailable at 12AM the day of check in, one of the reviews has put it very well: "They will sell every type of suite until the day before check in, and magically, at 12 midnight the day of arrival, like a flick of the switch, all the suites disappear from inventory. If it is so difficult to commit to / honor World of Hyatt benefits, then this hotel should opt out or deflag from being a Hyatt property." - CXcarbonbon They would rather lose money over potential on-the-day booking than respecting the loyalty program, just why? If this is a concern of yours, go to the Grand Hyatt - it's just 15 minutes away by transport. If this is not, you probably wouldn't become a member anyway. The lounge was also disappointing, staffs were not attentive, food didn't came the first time we ordered, noisy guests without intervention. The rooms were dirty with stains everywhere - unacceptable especially during the pandemic. I wiped the table with an alcohol pad and it turned out all black - disgusting. One time there were uncleaned hair on the beddings, another time they were on the towels. For Hyatt members, this hotel is going to greatly disappoint you, you are no more than a regular guest here except the one-line thank you for your support at check-in. To enjoy the World of Hyatt benefits, please go to the other Hyatt properties in Hong Kong - even the lower-category Sha Tin HR figures out their policies better. This hotel is only good for its location. Lounge and sanitary standards below average.…
