Detailed Reviews
I stayed at the Renaissance four separate times between October 2019 and January 2020, the longest of which was for 9 nights. It's located in the Wan Chai area of Hong Kong island, right next to the Hong Kong Convention Centre. The closest MTR station is Wan Chai Station, which is about a 8-minute walk away from the hotel.
There are a number of things I liked about the hotel:
1) The decor feels updated and chic, and the harborview rooms have unobstructed views of Tsim Sha Tsui. The suites along the eastern side of the building also have great view of the skyscrapers in Central
2) The service level is excellent from every single staff I've dealt with. The front desk staff were very friendly and the housekeeping staff were always smiling. I used the lounge on the 40th floor extensively when I stayed there and I thought the staff there were very accommodating in dealing with my many requests
3) The location is decent. The hotel is located just a block away from the China visa centre. It's decently close to Wan Chai MTR Station which you can get to via a pedestrian overpass the entire way. The area around Wan Chai station has lots of restaurants, shops, money exchange, laundry shops, etc. where you can pretty much buy anything you need from
4) The gym is large and well-equipped. They have free weights that go up to 26km and a smith machine available. I went there 4 times a week and it's almost never crowded. I didn't use the swimming pool but it looked massive from my room
The only downside about the hotel is that if you need to access Kowloon often, then the location of this hotel is not ideal. There's no direct MTR train to go to Kowloon (you need to connect), and taxis going to the Kowloon side need to pay a pretty hefty tunnel toll

I as a Titanium Elite member visit hong kong very frequent and this is always my top priority hotel to stay at. Rooms are very clean, concierge is very helpful and especially the excellent customer service from the guest relations team.
I am writing this with regards to compliment the service rendered by senior loyalty officer Candice Liu from this hotel. She is always putting her best to accommodate my request each time when i stay with renaissance.
She made me feel welcome and definitely, home, with the kind of hospitality she carries
Candice ensure that my room is in great condition before even I check in and she also taking an extra mile to check any request for my meetings or airport transfer if needed. She also assist in complimentary upgrade at times.
Most rooms in renaissance hong kong hotel have full harbour view and also their morning buffet breakfast is wonder with great variety spreads.
Since a great hotel pairing with such an impressive service from staff like her, which make it more perfect. Thank You, renaissance for nurturing such an outstanding crew like Candice Liu with such high professionalism who cares for her customers.

Stayed there from 24 to 25 Jun with a celebration package. Guaranteed upgrade to sea view room, 2 sets of all day breakfast, complimentary cake and a bottle of sparkling, and late check-out till 6 pm. It's value for money and a really nice package for couples who wish to celebrate their anniversary, birthday, etc.
Aside from the package, the hotel is well managed with excellent services. Staff are very polite and helpful when serving us. I would say Katie who served at the club lounge is particularly impressive for she was always being active in offering helps to guests and is very polite and humble. Definitely the service attitude that fits such a club lounge with a class.
The management and sevice team at Cafe Renaissance (breakfast time) is great too - very helpful with good hygienic consciousness, and they have arranged all the food to be handed out by the staff (but still in buffet format) instead of letting guests to play around the food on their own. They have also prepared sufficient hand sanitizer all around the restaurant so that you can easily clean your clean before taking food and eating. Definitely a good example for hotels in hygiene management (particularly in comparison with some other hotels in the same group like Ocean Park Marriott)
Keep it up.

Rooms were on the small side and was not very family friendly. More for the business traveller with not much to do for family.
The hotel shares the pool from the neighbouring hotel and there is no spa. So had to book a massage from there.
Hotel staff were a little cold and never seemed to smile.
Did not find the club lounge value for money.
Rooms on harbour view have a view of the light show however fireworks are on the wrong side of the harbour so don’t waste money for a fireworks view!

This is my first time staying in Renaissance Harbour View Hotel. You should definitely try their harbour view room (it is in their name!) if you decide to stay here. Overall it was a pleasant experience for me.
The room is basic and much smaller than other five-star hotels like Island Shangri-La or JW Marriott. The room doesn’t have a coffee machine and the bed is just a queen size bed. However, the whole selling point is its wonderful harbour view, therefore I highly recommend you to pay a little bit extra to get a room with the view!
The breakfast was at Cafe Renaissance and it was great. Plenty of choices and they all tasted good. The staff made fresh fruit juice on demand at the juice bar, don’t feel shy and just ask!
The lounge was relocated to first floor Mirage but this is the worst arrange I have ever seen. The afternoon tea and cocktail sessions were combined into one for 3.30-6pm. On Sunday there were too many of people and the place simply cannot accommodate. I was there around 3.20pm and the staff told me I was on waiting list and they will call me when there is a seat. There were around 6 groups of guest before me. I sincerely suggest that you should open both of your lounge at 41 floor and Mirage, or not to relocate to Mirage if you already foresee there will be a flooding of people. They do offer take away boxes for guests to takeaway the food from the lounge, but I see this as ridiculous way of compensation as executive lounge supposed to accommodate guests and have this relaxing and exclusive environment.
When I went back on Monday, it was not full and the atmosphere was much more relaxing. The food was good, the staffs and bartenders were attentive and charming. I would recommend you to avoid Fri, Sat and Sun at this hotel.
I must give credits to this hotel by accommodating my request of yoga mat and dumbbells inside the room. Their housekeeping staffs were kind and fast in service too.

It was an amazing stay at Renaissance Harbour View Hotel where my friend and I celebrated both our birthdays in March. Regrettably, my Suite Night Award redemption towards my ideal suite was declined but thanks to Chak and Kelsey who were helpful and friendly at the front desk, we were upgraded to a different suite.
In this stay, we were happy to stay at the Superior Suite. The room had a spacious living area with wood panelled walls dressed with a beige accent. It had huge windows across the living room and bedroom which allowed us to enjoy the never-ending view of Victoria Harbour, perfect for watching the sunset while enjoying some drinks. Due to the generous size of the suite, there was also a separate toilet in the living room, convenient if you have guests. Bathroom was another highlight of the suite as the expansive windows allowed the natural sunlight to seep in, leaving you feeling refreshed. It was also a nice surprise when we received a birthday cake from the hotel.
The Executive Lounge at Renaissance has its reception located on 41/F but the sitting area was separated across a few floors. It was tastefully decorated and another great location that overlooked Victoria Harbour. Evening cocktail had a large selection of drinks but limited food choices. Gary, the lounge supervisor and Shirley at the lounge were friendly and hospitable as they made sure that we were comfortable.
Breakfast was served at Café Renaissance, thumbs up to the enormous and overwhelming selection of food with various choices even for vegetarians. Fruit station was impressive as we could order our preferred choice of fruits or fruit juices which would be freshly prepared. It looked like our stay might have coincided with the peak period as there were long queues in the restaurant and the hotel but the team at Renaissance were accommodating and welcoming.

We spent a weekend with Renaissance Harbour View Hotel culinary adventure package where many of friendly staffs and great features and all that.
The new weekend package was really good for value, it covers 2 breakfast with kid, kid car experience and $1200 dining credit, basically we paid for nothing for the room rate.
When we checked in, Charles was efficiently to finish the check-in with attention to family needs. Then the hotel sent us a kid amenity to sweeten up the journey.
During the stay, we had many friendly staffs where ever we have been. At the lunch buffet, Alex and Jacky was helpful with the seating request and gave a great birthday surprises. Samuel in the kid car experience, he patiently introduced children how to ride and play in the safe way. All hygiene precaution and measures are perfectly made us feel safe and fun through out the activity.
Highly recommended to stay there with the culinary adventure, which is offering great for value and excellent service to families .

I can see the Victoria Harbor View in Renaissance. It would be more ideal if the room had a bottle opener, a comb, and a paper towel on the desk. (It needs to be taken in the bathroom, it is unhygienic!) Although the sound insulation equipment .l am still like Renaissance.

We went for a weekend staycation mainly attracted by the large pool but were really disappointed. Our package included dinner, bed and breakfast for $1700 HKD which seemed very good value. However, the place felt tired, corporate and impersonal. Check it was fine and polite, but clinical; we weren’t even told where to go for breakfast. Following that the room was pokey and smelt of must/damp as presumably it had not been used for a while. Whilst it was clean and functional it had no luxury touches and felt more like an upmarket travel lodge than a 5* hotel. The ‘harbour view’ was north towards north point and quarry bay, so was not really a view or victoria harbour. The bathroom was tiny, and whilst clean, had no bath which is very disappointing for a hotel of this standard. There were no USB or plug sockets by the bed and I had to get down on my hands and knees to find a plug socket to charge my phone, I wish I hadn’t as under the bed was filthy.
When we went down to the pool, which is a beautiful large pool complex shared with the Hyatt, the place was absolutely mobbed! Children charging around everywhere, no available beds, staff were busy and rushed off their feet and as a result were very rude to us when we dared to ask where to get a towel from. There was uncleared tables, food everywhere and what looked like the aftermath of a very messy, loud brunch happening in the pool side bar. It was pretty unpleasant and not welcoming. We got some towels which we put down on the ground and left to have a quick dip, then retreated to our tiny room.
To be fair the 8 course Cantonese tasting menu in dynasty restaurant was very nice, if you like Cantonese food, and the service was very good. However breakfast in the morning was poor. The coffee was horrendous, and whilst the selection of food was okay, the quality was low and felt like a place on a budget. The venue for breakfast had a real low end canteen feel.
Exceptional pool means if you visit in the week you might get lucky if it’s quiet. We won’t be taking the risk again as we were left so disappointed. Really it felt like a convention centre hotel for business travellers, which ultimately I guess is what it is. I felt mugged when I had to part with $2400 in total on the way out, despite having late check out until 4pm we left early and went home at 1030am.

We had booked 3 rooms with 4 children in early March.
The hotel has a lot of facilities that’s great for family staycation, eg. a private playground, kids car track, private jogging track, gym room, spectacular harbour view in club lounge and a very large pool (pool closed due to government control).
We had a set of connecting rooms and a studio suite, the children were running between rooms exploring the extra space. The “take away” meal were good value, $108 for a delicious lunch meal box. There is a new lobster roll to try, however the portion is slightly too little, it would be better if the salad larger size than a tasting paper cup.
Thanks to Vincent Lai for the pre check-in information email and the room arrangements;
Thanks to the hospitality of catering delivery staffs and every staffs in club lounge. The Prosecco saved my day😍.
Many Thanks Alex Lo and Samuel Tsang for their friendly coaching to our children on how to control the kids car, patiently teach time how to turn the car when hitting the cones😆. Finally helping us to take photos.
We had a great time !

By Gold Status I presume you mean Marriot Bonvoy and if so you have access to the top floor breakfast place.
After alighting from the express train at Hongkong station suggest you walk to the bus terminal a few steps away and check whether there is airport bus service to Renaissance before you go straight to the taxi queue. During this visit we stayed first at Courtyard (free airport bus directly to Courtyard) and then moved to Renaissance so i cant say for sure if there is a similar bus service to Renaissance.
24hour open i think not 100%sure
I didn’t see the hotel provide shuttle service. Best way is still taxi if you have big luggages with you since Wan Chai station is quite a walk to hotel entrance. The nearer station to hotel is HK exhibition center which is on the light blue line, but you need to change mtr line.
