It was cheap as chips because the only thing it has going for it is location. Mind, the location is phenomenal, and if you only need a place to sleep, shower, and keep your stuff, well this place is good enough for that. You might not be comfortable in the tiny bed (smaller than a twin size) and the worn out carpet (the narrow strip that can be seen between the beds) and dark, dark, like 70% dark chocolate dark walls and dim lighting, but the room will provide a place to sleep, shower, and hold your stuff. Oh, they will let you borrow a cell phone for use during your stay, for free, so there's that as well.
So most people are complaining here about the room size. When you book the room most websites show you the room size, so read what you book and don't write misleading reviews. For me the room size was totally ok. I'm 1.85m tall, I had 2 luggage, small and big, had room for everything and bed didn't feel too short at all. Convenient bed, great view from 20th floor. Shower and toilet in good condition. Fridge and kettle too, no tea bags or coffee was provided though. Air conditioner was ok, I didn't use it during sleep. They also put some nice smell sticks in the room. Staff is nice, location is great, 1min walk to airport bus e11. 7eleven even closer, money exchange too. There's also a very popular dim sum restaurant there, but I never had the chance to get patience for the queue. Lots of other restaurants too around. Price is also not that high, I would stay again. …
My company sent me to Hong Kong on business, and arranged a room at this "hotel". It must have been cheap as chips because the only thing it has going for it is location. This is an OK hotel in the heart of the Wan Chai district in Hong Kong. It has no amenities, room is very small. It was clean and the bed was made everyday. The front desk team was ok, felt like they were put off whenever questions were asked. You will want to bring a white mouse machine or portable fan as the Tin Lok Lane is fairly heavily trafficked with buses all hours of the night. The mattress are extremely hard, almost felt like i was sleeping on the floor It is right next to an incredible Dim Sum restaurant and a 7-11 right next door to get a coffee or a coke. This is definitely not a Western style hotel, it was my place to sleep as i was outside of it for 16 hours a day but I’d have liked to have had a bit more space and comfort. Don’t think I’d return to this one.
Problem with the shower room small & always hit on the shower dispenser n after shower it will always choke( mini bathtub ) House keeper never clean my cup n towel not Change . Put up Do Not Disturb’ house keeping open my door n walk in . What is this ? They don’t see the sign hanging outside my door ? Ask for extra pillow and it smells horrible . Bed is so itchy . So worry if there is bedbugs. The superior room I stayed 4days 3nite , it was a horrible experience. Room not clean at all . Not even a tea spoon in the room .
