We spent 4 nights in this hotel during our stay in Beijing. The location is great, by one of the traditional Hutong areas with a busy walking street full of shops and restaurants. From here you can walk and explore the nearby areas and attractions such the Lama temple or the Drum and bell tower or even rent a bicycle and reach the Tianamen and forbidden city areas. Very clean, spacious rooms and very attentive personnel at the front the desk. We also booked the Great Wall tour and were very happy with all the service provided and service included - Excellent!

I stayed in the Beijing Downtown Travelotel for 4 nights. Overall experience with the staff and stay was fantastic. Prior to my travel, Hotel sent all the details on how to get there which I found very useful. Check-in process was smooth and because I arrive in the morning they already had rood ready for me. I stayed in 2 different rooms for 2 nights and both rooms were very clean in spacious. Breakfast was good but same everyday (atleast my vegetarian breakfast). That is one area they would like to provide better options. When I booked early trip to Great wall of China, staff arranged my breakfast take-away. Hotel is located at the buzzy street and till late night you can see tourist walking around. However, there is no noise inside the room. This is small and cozy hotel where I felt home.

Primarily the location is excellent. It is located in an alley where tours provided by local agency as walking tours would normally end there. Secondly, the room is clean. We felt at home the first night we stayed there. We have a good sleep despite it being located in a busy street. We cannot hear the outside noise at all. The toilet fixtures are even more high tech than the expensive hotel we've stayed in Shanghai. The breakfast offered is also good but we've only eaten once since our tours usually starts at 7am. Maybe they could move the breakfast schedule from 8am to 7am.That is the only comment i have regarding the schedule of breakfast.

Thank you for your nice review and appreciation. We are sorry about the breakfast issue. Maybe we didn't notify enough that you could have the breakfast packed if you expect an early departure. We are sorry about that. We really hope you could come back and stay in our hotel again next time when you come to Beijing. Have a good day!

Love this place. Quiet escape from the busy Hutong. Staff are helpful and friendly. Rooms simple but clean, good size. Location is ideal. Will visit again. TV only local Chinese channels. Air con in the rooms, breakfast is next door in the American diner styled restaurant.

Stayed here for 6 nights in late April, and if I ever go back to Beijing I wouldn’t even look at any other hotel - it was pretty much perfect! The location is excellent - all of the old city is just about within walking distance, but there are multiple subway and bus stops within 5 minutes walk. Shops, bars and restaurants on the doorstep, with local restaurants and bars just 5 minutes away. But as important, the staff were amazing, in particular Megan and Jerry - both could literally not have been more helpful!

Excellent place! Beijing is quite expensive generally so expect to pay more for accommodation compared to other places in China. This is in a brilliant location of a hustling Hutong and really close to the metro station. We organised our Great Wall tour and forbidden city tickets through the hotel as well - very helpful thank you.

We had a double room. The management has excellent care of the premises and their hotels . We felt welcomed by their friendly staff. They spoke pretty good English and were very helpful. Room was super clean. Western breakfast was fulfilling. We loved the place and won’t hesitate in staying here in a future visit. Thanks .

Everything was fantastic! The hotel was definitely the best we had during our trip to China! It is worth every penny - it is very central (just on the main shopping street), breakfast is amazing and the reception guys are super helpful. We could not wish for anything more;)

The staff here genuinely cares about the quality of your experience in Beijing. They were extremely kind and thoughtful. The accommodations were excellent too. Everything in the room was hotel quality with cleaning service, bath items provided, towels and really modern, clean amenities. The only thing "hostel" that I experienced was the nice common areas. The location was really cool too. The hutongs area it is located in was a wonderful experience to walk around in and close to the forbidden city.

Professional and friendly staff, supported with all requests and questions! Very clean room, wonderful design, everything was new and spotless clean. Great choice in Dongcheng District! Our tour at the Great Wall -organized by the Downtown Travel Agency- was excellent! Beds are huge and comfortable. Two bottles of water is provided each day. Breakfast is served from 8-10:30 in the café next door (and enough to make everyone full). I can definitely recommend staying here!
