We had a really pleasant stay in Rossdale Hotel as the place has a really good atmosphere especially the lobby. The interior design looks very nice, clean and well maintained. Initially we had a room with a view of the park but it was twin share and we wanted a queen size bed so we had to go back down to get it sorted out with the reception. Luckily it wasnt to much of a hassle coz the first lady who organised it for us didnt want to speak at all but the second gentleman was very helpful. He organised another room for us. The bedroom was nothing spectacular but they did a good job in cleaning and organising our bedroom. Breakfast was also really good, they offer a wide varieties of choices which most of the menu changed daily as well. The hotel location was not close to any attraction areas so we did find it a bit difficult to travel around especially at night since most taxi driver do not speaka single english but we always have a hotel card which has the hotel address on it. Overall i do recommend anybody who wants to stay in this hotel ... its pretty good value for a good service.

Recently stayed in the Rosedale hotel for a week in July. Was there for a business meeting which is held in the hotel. The hotel itself is a grand building on a vast ground and the interior is well maintained and new. Stayed in the club room which included a few extras. The room is very nice, with flat screen and a modern bathroom. Free boradband connection is available without any charge. It was also facing a nice view of a big park. I felt the room was a bit small considering the area the hotel was sitting on.

The service in general was good but not very consistent. Perhaps a language barrier at times. Was picked up from the airport swiftly and had a late night check in. Throughout the week, the club longe was shut down, and moved to the main lobby lounge, as there was a leak in the ceiling. Hence cannot comment much on it. Went to the cocktail reception in the evening once and was told by the club longe receptionist that this includes alcoholic beverages as one would expects. I double clarify this point and was told this is the case. However, after having my Pimms lemonade i was presented with a bill, and was informed that the cocktail service only includes coffee, tea and soft drinks only! This incident made me furious and after having a few discussion with the waiter, i just decided to gave up and pay the bill. That was my last time in the lounge.

Breakfast was good with an extensive spread. Otherwise, did not have any meals in the hotel. The Lido complex is about 5 mins walk, and there are the usual Starbuck and more choices of restaurants. Downtown is about 20 mins taxi ride, minus the traffic. The hotel card is useful for the taxis to get back to the hotel.

Overall, its not a bad place to stay, if you are on a business trip as the hotel is very near the airport, about 15 mins away. If i am on a vacation, i will stay in downtown.

It's big hotel, located far from subway station. The staff know English, Check in and out went very smoothly. Breakfast was rich and very well adapted to the 'western taste'. The hotel needs renovation, especially the corridors and the bathroom. In two cases we ask for assistance, we didn't get what actually needed; when we ask for a map of the city and the subway, we got map in Chinese (which was very difficult to navigate with). We also ask for a taxi and the reception didn't arrange it in advance, as we asked. When finally they order a taxi, it was with no space for the suitcase and with rude driver.

Excellent hotel with amazing service. I was at the hotel as part of an organized tour for a week. Large rooms and beautiful. Twin. The room has all what that should her mind and was comfortable. A fully equipped bathroom with bathrobes, a set soaps, bath and shower, towels. Room refrigerator, digital safe, air-conditioning. Dining room with breakfast pretty decent although not comparable with breakfast and dinner amazing hotels in Israel.
The constant attention of the hotel staff.

My husband and I stayed at the Rosedale during their 'off-peak' last 2 weeks of December. In the room, we found a letter stating that we have Complimentary Buffet Breakfasts. Upon checking out (which was supposed to be "Express"), we were both charged for the breakfasts we ate, at a very high price (for China). After pointing out their mistake, they've only deducted one of our breakfasts, pretending as if they've deducted both. This took so long to do that we were almost late for our flight.

After getting inside the cab, we found out that only one of us had free breakfast. We called Sylvia, the manager and she claimed we didn't have complimentary breakfasts at all! (We still have the letter.)

Additionally, we used the in-room microwave to pop one bag of popcorn and the plate in the oven broke. The manager called us about charging us for the broken plate, and we needed to negotiate out of this charge. We've never encountered a plate breaking in a microwave oven before, especially when the plate is made for the oven! We believe that this was hazardous if we had children with us and instead of an apology, we had to state our case and not be charged for it.

Overall, we were very disappointed with the Rosedale. The Bell boy and room service were very nice, but otherwise, don't expect to get any honest service here. They will charge you for things that they offer for free.

Minor complaints: We checked into the hotel on 5Nov-9Nov, it seems to be the coldest days of the month or something. Although it's cold, the room temperture was too warm for our desire. However the air conditioning switch in the room cannot be adjusted or it doesn't work. We tried to open the window, but the window cannot be opened. Also the inroom safe wasn't working. Good thing the front desk staff are helpful to store our passport etc in their main safe.
When we booked with our agent, we requested a king size bed (or at least 1 bed for 2 people), but we end up getting 2 single beds.
Good points about this hote:
- spacious room.
- nice and helpful staffs
- breakfast at the cafe california was good.
- close to airport but not close to tourist attraction, it's ok though coz taxi ride is cheap

I would like to stay at this hotel again if i visit Beijing again.

Dirty room and bathroom, They don't clean the carpet under beds, dust on the chairs.Breakfast rather poor and not tasty. The staff don't speak English, problems with Wi-Fi.
The only good thing I can say - good comfortable beds.

Visited the hotel in June 2016 and loved it there - soft beds, good view and very nice staff. There was an issue during the check in - they didn't accept my Unionpay (which is weird in China) and didn't want my debit Visa card. I had to go to the closest atm (3 am) and withdraw some cash. Other than that everything was lovely.

I may have said before it was good value for the money but after a second stay I would never waste the money again. Old, run down and very poor. If they can't even be bothered to clean the rooms then I will spend my money somewhere else. Very poor and very dirty !

I have been to this hotel at least 5 times and so I know what to expect. I know the rooms are a little old fashioned but comfortable enough for me. I go there because of the reasonable price and the location for where I need to be. I know that to upgrade the facilities in a hotel must be a big investment and not necessarily worth it to the owners but why slip on the little things---which are free to do (or very cheap).
Firstly though I am a regular customer, I am never recognized when I arrived. In other hotels that I visit frequently obviously the computer identifies the booking and points out to the receptionist that this is a regular. It is amazing how much better a customer feels when the receptionist says " welcome back".
The second thing was water- i arrived thirsty- drank my 2 complimentary bottles and asked for 2 more. The charged me for the water-- not a lot (10 rmb for 2) but it ruined my feeling of home from home which is why i pick the same hotel each time.
