The facility is pretty old, toaster is out of oder but they did not want to replace a new one. I have been staying in Accord hotels, and be the diamond member for a while, but they are mean to upgrade me to en-suite even though there are so many customer staying in their hotel. One more thing I am very surprised that the gym is close down too….
We arrived very late past midnight at the Novotel Beijing Xin Qiao. We booked TWO rooms of twin beds. The two FO staff where trainees and we were allocated a king size bed for the three of us and both rooms. After much conversation at 12.30am the staff told us our friend had a King size room and they had NO twin bed rooms. I then asked for the manager, Ms Amy Xu to Mr David Wu who laughed at me when I repeated it to him a few times. Meanwhile, the other FO staff Ms Michelle Dai checked through every page of my passport four times. I asked her what she wanted to know and my wife told me she was looking for the last entry date into China which I helped her with. When the manager finally arrived, Ms Amy Xu said she gave us a room in the B wing which was NOT the 'interconnecting rooms' we asked for in email requests earlier to that hotel. After deliberation we requested an extra bed and past 1am we retired to the room after we unpacked we discovered there was NO DOOR to the bathroom!!!! We then went to go back to the front desk and Ms Xu gave us a room on the 11th floor with two beds and they added an extra bed which was booked in Wing A on the 11th floor. This was 2am. They should have done this in the first place. The problems dont end there, on Monday and Wednesday for the breakfasts for three adults we paid for the staff stopped us and queried this. I had to show the receipt we had to get in. On the final day Thursday, we did get a sympathetic staff manager, Felix who gave us a late check out but I have to say, it should not take two hours to check into the correct room. regards SLL…
Check in was smooth; however, service was not that efficient, business centre was close before 13:00. The room old, poor maintenance, toilet flushing had problems as well as shower, and the safe box was out of battery. Breakfast buffet was not delicious and seemed to be prepared a day ahead, too greasy and pastry had the poorest taste, if you don’t eat pork, be prepared to eat one or two types of not fresh vegetables because there won’t be anything that contains beef or chicken other than chicken sausages.
Due to COVID-19 the hotel has had to make various adjustments, i e closing off the 12th floor. I hope this will soon be re opened as some of the benefits were missed. also some smaller changes were made which, while not inconvenient did detract from the usual standard I have come to expect from the Hotel. I hope that when the virus is over the hotel will go back to its former standards of excellence and not 'spoil the ship for a ha'porth of tar (English expression) Special thanks tp Deng Shu Fen of house keeping ,who was as efficient as she was unobtrusive, for maintaining my bathroom and room in first class condition.
There is mixture of smokimg smell and dead rat smell inside the toilet. According to my knowledge, there is not possible to smoke inside the room. It seems the management of NOVOTEL Beijing does not strictly apply this rule. Also the dead rat smell scares me because NOVOTEL is good brand in the world. But not in Beijing 😢
it is convenient to go to every corner of the city by metro. you can enjoy delicious peking duck in their chinese restaurant on 4th floor. staff are friendly and responsive. However, it is not adviced to live in the lower floors as there is strong baking smell from a bakery shop at the ground floor.
I am an Accor member and booked on accor website for the 7 night stay from Dec 2019 to Jan 2020 for my family of 3 with 2 rooms. My room request wasn't met as we were separated in different buildings. Quiet room wasn't given on the first go until I asked for a change. Safety boxes weren't working until we asked them to fix which took a long time. The rooms given werent exactly quiet we were awoken by a wedding party at 6am next door. They just didn't care about their guests. Accor still hasn't registered our stay so I asked for a receipt from the hotel showing my stay so I can email to the Accor team to fix the missing points. The hotel failed to provide correct information in the receipt for such simple things. I am not sure why they decided to attention it to my sister when my name was in use in all hotel confirmation emails and their records. Perhaps to avoid giving customers the rewards points?? Lack of response from the Accor loyalty team is also a concern. The recent negative experience with the Beijing hotel and Accor group so far is changing my desire to continue using them and switch to another hotel group. Appalling quality.…
Situation down Town is perfect to discover Beijing Hotel service is valuable like a 5 stars It is a pety that the welcome is to cold and no body to help you at your arrival to take care of your lugage. But afetr demanding it was done. I will come back for sure.
Excellent position for the subway which is right on the doorstep which is cheap and great for exploring Beijing. The executive room check in staff where very friendly and welcoming . The executive room cleaning girls were Excellent and friendly my husband says he will remember their smiles forever. I think that throughout China you need roaming on your phone because Wh- Fi is very slow. We used it as a base for our trips to Harbin and Xi'an staying a total of three times and always welcomed back. We chat app is very useful too.
Staying here for work, and it’s my first time in a Novotel. Very similar style to a Marriott, I think. Rooms are spacious and have nice toiletries. Bed is quite comfortable. Some areas are a little dated but overall a nice place. Would stay again
