I had a 14 hour layover from US to Mongolia so instead of staying in the airport, I decided to book a hotel and try to get a good nights rest. I was a little apprehensive about staying anywhere besides the hotels that are pretty much on airport property because I didn't have a phone and I can't speak Chinese. People seemed to have a lot of problems getting the airport shuttle to the hotel but it went okay for me. Just remember, this isn't America and you have to remember to be patient. Also, people will cut you in line so bad - fight for your spot! Don't have to be rude, just assert your space. Anyways:

I skipped the main visa control line and went through the "International transit - leaving airport" line to the left of the passport booths. I had a copy of my itinerary and the lady gave me a temporary visa, no problem. Found my bags, and was told I could use the pay phones to make free 3 minute calls to local numbers. I also had a print-out of the hotel contact sheet and a map in case I had to take a taxi. The first person who picked up at the hotel didn't speak English but gave the phone to someone who did. This person told me to wait at the 2F information desk. Found that, told the guy behind the counter at the info desk who I was waiting for and throughout my wait, he offered to call and see where the hotel people were (so you can ask the info desk people to call for the shuttle if you don't want to use the payphone). The wait was about 30 minutes and a staffer in a Days Inn uniform showed up and led me to the parking lot bay, B13, I think. A multi-passenger shuttle was waiting for us with a few other passengers. Quick 10-15 minute ride to the hotel where I checked in, paid ahead for breakfast and reserved my spot on the 8AM shuttle back to the airport. Really pleased how easy this went! I was expecting chaos.

The hotel itself is nice. The lobby has waxed marble floors and is quiet. My room smelled a bit funky (like cigarettes) but the bed sheets were clean and fresh so I didn't mind it. Carpet is a bit old and spotty but I'm not expecting the Ritz here. The airplane noise is a real thing, but you should always carry ear plugs when traveling. With those on and the windows closed, you can't hear a thing. There is a kettle for hot tea, a big jug and a small water bottle, some bar snacks. Not everything is free though. Anyways, would stay again if I had to do another overnight layover.

Days Hotel Beijing New Convention Center is a 15-20 minute free shuttle bus ride from the airport. If arriving at T3 go to the 4/F and to Door 6 and the Yellow/Cream shuttle bus with Days Hotel on the door will arrive at about 20 minutes past the hour after having left the hotel on the hour. The hotel is modern and the staff efficient. The room was a reasonable size with comfortable beds and free tea making facilities. The walk in shower is a good size but for those wanting full privacy the thick frosted glass wall between the shower and the bedroom may not please. The TV had several English channels and the breakfast had a good variety of dishes. I will use this hotel again for a quick turn around or early flight. There is some aircraft noise but it is not too bad.

I stayed for one night. When asking for the invoice for the stay as this was a business trip the front desk told me I can find it online. I went online and it is not listed there and when called the 866-996-7937 they told me to call the property for the invoice. I am unable to reach anyone for this invoice. This is very unprofessional when not providing the need of a customer both the property employees and the help site.

Nice big room, upgraded at arrival with complimentary fruit basket. Big shout out to ALOYS HU in the reception who delivered exceptional service, and special service with help to book train tickets as my flight was cancelled. A very special employee. I wish him all the best for the future. Will definitely choose this hotel on my next stay over at the airport.

I spent 2 nights at this property, which I booked due to its good reviews here on Tripadvisor. I arrived just before midnight and called the property and spoke with the front desk, who said they would send the shuttle for me. Half an hour later, it still had not arrived. When I called again, the call went to an automatic system in Chinese, and eventually who answered did not speak any English. It took three more attempts to get an English speaker, and then they said "the driver did not see you". I then learned that the driver was looking for me at a door different from the one they'd instructed me to stand in front of. Finally the hotel said "just take a taxi and we will pay". So I took a taxi, who charged me a ridiculously high fare (the hour was late) and when we reached the property, the hotel didn't want to reimburse the fare I had paid the taxi driver. So I recovered only half the taxi fare. I checked in, they gave me the keys to the room, and when I stepped into the room, it took about 3 minutes for the horrible reality to sink in. The carpet was filthy and worn. I did not dare step on it with bare feet. The room *stunk* of cigarette smoke. On the night table between the two beds, there was a red sign saying "No Smoking". But on the dressing table, there was a conveniently placed ashtray with a box of matches on it, kindly left by the maid for the smoking convenience of the guests. As the planes taking off and landing made a terrible din, I checked the windows and found one of them open. It had a screen in front of it, which was stuck in place, so I couldn't close the window. I battled with the screen for a few minutes, trying to push it upward in order to get my hand on the other side to close the window, and when I held on to the top of the screen, a massive amount of dust started falling off the cover. It hadn't been dusted in ages! Eventually I did manage to close the window, and with the window closed the noise from the airplanes was more bearable, though by closing the window the stench from the smoke and the filth were accentuated. There was nothing to do but grin and bear it as the reservation was guaranteed. But I would gladly have paid 4 times more to stay at a better hotel. When it was new, this was probably a decent place. But it is no longer new, the management has done nothing to keep it in proper shape, and it no longer qualifies as acceptable lodging in my view. I will not stay here again, and I don't recommend it.

This hotel is in an excellent location for making flight connections, but too far from tourist attractions for a prolonged stay. After flight arrival, go to 1st level of International Arrivals, and opposite door 9 is a free telephone for making local calls. Simply contact the hotel for the shuttle. The shuttle arrives in 10-15 minutes. Check-in with an internet reservation was quick. The room is a decent size and bath amenities are well stocked. Towels and bed linens clean, mattress firm, hard surfaces clean, but the carpet is showing some wear. Given its proximity to the airport, some flight noise is to be expected. My morning flight left early, so I cannot rate the breakfast.

The Days Hotel at Beijing Airport Tel +86 106457 6666 is a good reasonably priced hotel. They have a shuttle bus to and from the airport although I was told it would pick me up in 15 minutes it was more like 45 before it arrived. To get the shuttle after exiting arrivals take the internal lift to the 4th floor and then go to Gate/Door 6 and out to the first lane. A taxi should cost 20-25 RMB for the 10 minute ride. The hotel is modern and has quick and efficient check in. The rooms are quite large with nice walk in shower, comfortable beds, free tea making facilities, free good WIFI and TV that has CNN and some English movies. The breakfast was good.

Just a recent trip to China. Had a stop over (Beijing) before heading back to the states. Stay at the hotel with a tour group. The hotel concierge ask us if we want to take our luggages with us or leave it with them, because it would be easier for us because we were going to fly out the next morning. Next morning arrive. Went to get our luggages, 1 luggages was not there . The tag number didn't match. The hotel gave the luggage to a wrong person. Placed a claim. They said when the find my luggage the hotel will call me & send it back to me. Wait a few days, didn't hear from them, I called them. They found the luggage. After a few minutes, of talking, they would send my luggage to me but at my cost of $4000.00 (Chinese currency, which equal to $800 US dollar). What??!! They are crazy. Told them it was their fault for mistakingly giving the wrong luggage out. They should be shipping my luggage back to me, since it was their fault to begin
with. Being a airport hotel, you think they would have decent customer service. Being in tour group, the hotel concierge (someone) thought they can make a fast buck. Never leave your luggages with the hotel concierge, you'll find one of your luggage will be mistakenly giving to someone else, then a few day later. It was returned & YOU will have to pay a ransom or tell them to shovel it.

I haven't had the time to write a review about my experience at this hotel so I've been putting it off but to be honest that fact that I randomly think about it and it still annoys me means that I have to express my opinions on this location's customer service. I was there for one night in either March 20th or 21st since I had a 14 hour overnight layover in Beijing. I found it to be a great price, very close to the airport, and my main reason for booking was the 24 hour airport shuttling service. I called the day before (since I was landing at 2:00am) to try and maybe schedule a pickup time with them, to which the front desk attendant told me to just call when I landed and was ready to be picked up. Cool, not a problem. We land and after passing customs and all that to leave the airport I call the hotel, and call ....and call. I don't want to exaggerate with a number but I dialed them easily over 10 times until someone finally picked up. I was honestly worried that no one would answer and we would have to find a way to get there at this hour. Anyway, I let her know that we were ready to be picked up and she asked if I was in terminal 3, which I told her yes and she told me to wait outside parking lot B13. Now this part may well be our fault. I don't know if we're just stupid or something but we could not find that parking lot for the life of us. We wandered around the airport going up and down elevators, we even asked a couple airport employees (they were no help) and nothing. I then receive a call back from the front desk and she asks me where I am (at this point we are lost) so I told her I was not too sure, that I could not find where she had told me to go but that I was still looking. Here is honestly the point which got me so mad. Small disclaimer: I myself manage a hotel here in the states so perhaps my own experience in the hospitality industry is why this might be a bigger deal to me than to someone just reading this. The front desk then told me that her shuttle driver was waiting and that he was going to "leave in the next few minutes if we did not get there" because he was not going to wait. If my shuttle driver or front desk ever told that to one of my guests, there would be serious talk about that. Like, you're going to leave a paying guest with a reservation at the airport in the middle of the night because your shuttle driver is not going to wait?!
I hardly EVER leave a bad review on anything, you can look over my trip advisor reviews/ratings and see that I give almost everything I rate 4 or 5 stars because I'm a very easy going understanding tourist but this to me was just unacceptable. Terrible customer service aside, the room was very nice and clean, plane noise was really not noticeable to me but that might be the long flight/long arrival ordeal that made me extra tired.

Hales L asked a question Mar 2020
Leeds, United Kingdom
Can 3 adults stay in a superior room with 2 double beds?
Answer from zhan z
I am not quite sure I have ever been in a "superior" double bed room. The one i reserved in the past are more like two 'twin bed' in US standard. Last time 3 of my family member traveled, I asked for an extra fold-able bed in a 'king-bed' room. The bed is more like a US 'queen' size one.
Answer from jobae123
Bloomfield, New Jersey
So, you need to call them when you arrive at the airport. That means you will need acquire a SIM card that makes calls (get it at baggage claim area and not after you leave baggage because it's more expensive there). Call the hotel once you are outside and arrange for pickup (I hope you will get someone in the hotel that speaks English to help you). They pickup at the garage area and they will tell you the location by number (so go to the garage building). You can ask the info desk, but we found that most if not all do not speak English. it was quite tough for us. In the end, one of the information booth ladies was willing to help us. She spoke very little English but was very helpful.
Answer from PhuVanTu
Evanston, Illinois
It is not easy but doable if you get proper help from the people who run the airport and then go to the right location at the right time (2F Terminal 2 door 6 for me or 2nd floor T3 at door 6 from another Orbitz reviewer ). I summarized my experience in my long review on July 16, 2018. Sorry, Trip Advisor does not allow me to post a link to that post but perhaps you can try to search my name and review date to see it. There are similar hints from the people that travel there several years back. If you don't want to risk it, just take a taxi. Beijing taxi that lined up in the official lane usually have to use a meter and charge fairly.
Answer from Nik Nik
I think you better check with the hotel first. In general, the chance to give you a free early check in is very little but you can definitely ask them to take care your luggage . Good luck.

Yes, there was a kettle in my room, but don't use a big bottle of water (only small ones) if you don't want to pay extra
