The hotel preserves the attentions that western hotels used to have. The size of the room is great, it is bigger than normal western rooms by far, for Chinese standards is huge. I liked a lot, but there are few thinks that you might know before booking. First the mattress, it is very hard, as soon as we lay down to watch some television, we felt it. I use firm matters at home, and I was worried that we would not rest property with this hard mattress, but that was not the case; we woke up rested. The only think that woke me up during the night was the heat. We were there during early December and they set the temperature at 20 degrees Celsius which is room temperate (68 F) but the room was clearly hotter than that, I had to turn it off because the AC did not work (they probably use a central unit for heat or AC and switch it per seasons). The offer all the toilets that you no longer find the American continent. There is also two 500ml bottles of water for free, and one 1L for sale. Use the ones for free for tea or coffee. They have condoms, compresses towel, and something else I do not remember for sell at inside the toilet. They storage our bags the last day for free. The hotel is walking distance to Forbidden City, Wangfujing street, and metro line 1, Wangfujing Station.…
The location was very good. It is near the subway station (12 min walk). Main business street and large mall are walking distance. This includes Mcdonalds and KFC. Western food at times is nice, it is sometimes difficulty to find western food in China. You can walk to the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square from hotel ( about 15 min). Take your passport with you, they may ask for ID near Tiananmen square. A few staff members speak broken English. They are not warm like the staff members in the interior of China. I recommend because of the location.
A great option very near tiananmen square. Beautiful building, affordable and also very nice service from the friendly staff(although their English is not very clear to be honest). It offers great value for your money
This hotel is near Tiananmen and the Imperial Palace. The sector is also knwon for the commercial malls, hotels and luxury shops. The problems are that the staff is not friendly and not helpful (don't expect then to understand a word of english, even if you say "no" when they want to enter and clean your room while you're sleeping). The hotel is also noisy, due to the clients, the poor construction and the perpetual renovation works. The breakfast is quite poor and only served between 7:00 and 9:30. After 9:00, there is often no coffee left, and the staff will not propose to make more. Caution: some rooms don't have any window !
The location of this hotel is perfect, situated between the forbidden city and Wangfujing both in easy walking distance (about 10 mins). The hotel was also cheap. We booked 2 rooms for 2 nights and in fairness the details said the view was limited. It turns out this was the understatement of the year - the view was a concrete wall on the other side of a void in the middle of the hotel, however we didn’t mind too much we just shut the window and the curtains. The room was also very small but again because of the cheapness (the hotel, not mine) that was ok too. The room was in dire need of refurbishment, a previous review mentioned threadbare carpets and I concur. There was a couple of bizarre room features including a mirrored wardrobe door that opened into the pointy bit on the door (the bit that makes it close) and I was terrified of breaking it every time the wardrobe was opened. The room was very hot, actually 27c as the aircon control unit helpfully told me, unfortunately that’s where it’s use ended as it performed little other function (we ended our stay with the temperature set to 14c and the room temperature kept on edging up). The bed was ok - smallish but not too uncomfortable. The noise was probably the worst aspect of the stay. Hard to describe but workmen from 7am drilling, noisy families from around 5am, and all sorts of other noises whilst we were in the rooms. The one redeeming feature was the shower. It was excellent. The sort you would expect in a 5 star establishment. But that was it. On reflection the cheapness and location makes the hotel ok and if there had been no workmen then I guess for 2 nights I could live with it but if you stay here, do so with open eyes.…
Had a room at the 5th Floor. There was a construction going on so you could hear drilling and hammering at 8AM until 7PM. Rooms are dusty and extremely cold. Beijing had one of its coldest days recently and there was no way to control the air conditioner. Cigarette smoke comes out from the toilet vents. The hotel is under construction, even the roof garden is inaccessible. The only good thing about this hotel is its location close to wangfujing. Please do yourselves a favor and book elsewhere!
I have just stayed at this hotel, the location is good but the food was not great. We left the hotel clean and on check out they said the cleaner could not clean some fruit marks off the towel and charged us 20 yen, it’s not a lot but be careful as they are just looking for any small excuseto take from your deposit so don’t clean up behind you
The location of the Hotel is excellent, as it is so close to the Tiananmen Square, The Forbidden City, a great subway station, The Beijing Hotel and a lot of malls, stores, dining choices etc. The room were a decent size and the bed were actually pretty good. However, this is almost the only positive things i can tell about the hotel. - The wifi were terrible, almost useless. - The staff (minus the housekeepers) were so impolite and couldn't speak a single word of english. - The refrigerator were not on, and we couldn't figure out how to turn it on. - We paid a 500 CNY security deposit, and it took almost 14 days for them to return. - The shower facility were awful! There were 2 shower heads in the cabine (a mountet and a loose). The problem is, that you couldn't just turn one of them on without turning the other one on as well. Therefore, were the power of the water very soft, unfortunately - The walls of the rooms were quite thin and we woke up quite a few times in the morning by the noisy hotel neighbours. I would only recommend this hotel if the location is the crucial factor for your stay.…
The positives were the location being so close to the Forbidden City, shopping centres and great restuarants in the area. We booked 3 rooms and on our first night the room temperature was 31 degrees in each room and totally uncomfortable the controls in our rooms were overridden and could not be changed. We then had to upgrade and pay extra for 3 rooms which were suitable., i have never been in a room set to 31 degrees when the oufside temperatuee is minus 10 degrèes. Whilst the staff tried to helpl I still dont understand why a hotel would do fhis.
We stayed at TianAn Rega hotel on two separate occasions in Jan 2019 and had a great experience there. The hotel staff were exceptionally helpful despite some language issues. One of the young ladies at reception (don’t know her name but she’s pretty senior) even wrote down in chinese on a piece of paper to help us find a nearby office where we can purchase our high speed train tickets to Shanghai. She’s been exceptionally helpful and courteous. We ended up not having to leave things to the last minute and were able to purchase our tickets and plan our trip to Shanghai without much hassle. They also provided us with a chinese power socket that we could use to charge our phones and iPads throughout our stay. The hotel is located just 10 minutes walk away from both the Tiananmen Square and the forbidden city. Ideal for early morning flag raising ceremony if anyone is interested to witness. Also located within 5 minutes walk from Wangfujing pedestrian mall and subway station. Don’t forget to try Food Republic eatery near the Wangfujing subway entrance. …
