The hotel has great location, about 5 mins walk from the metro station. The rooms are up-to-date with chinese traditional elements. The soft services are great, especially the front desk. During the stay, I had the needs of renewing my room, Mandy who works at the front desk was always happy to help making me feel like home. Its probably the best experience i have ever had compare to all the other Fairmount hotel i have stayed around the world.

After spending a week skiing, we found luxury comfort in Fairmont right away. There was an Ogawa massage chair in our Gold Fairmont room, and it was therapeutic. The pool was spacious and has a spa with full body hydro-jet massage. Everyone must give it a try.
Another must try is their Peking Duck. They cook their ducks on the spot and require booking at least one hour in advance. The duck meat is as good as what you will find in some of the best known duck restaurants, and we had been to a few. Tony and Colin were very helpful with the whole team on Chinese New year eve. Our gratitude for fitting us in on short notice.

Fairmont Beijing is luxurious and well located. We particularly enjoyed our meals at Lunar 8 - their wide range of breakfast spread and beautifully cooked food. We had Peking duck there which we highly recommend - the services and quality of the duck were really impressive, better than all ducks we tried in Beijing and we tried a lot!!! The prices were really reasonable and we were wow’d by the quality of the dishes. We wish we could stay at the hotel a bit longer to try the Peking duck again- I will surely miss it.... Colin and Mike worked tirelessly on Chinese New Year’s Eve to make sure all guests at the restaurant had an enjoyable time. Fairmont Beijing is beautiful and absolutely upholds the standard of Fairmont hotels but Lunar 8 really takes it to another level! Also there is an art gallery with private collection of antique jewelleries and china pieces which were really interesting to look at with a lot less people than other galleries. We also found a robot around the Huabing tower lobby and had a really interesting conversation with the robot which was hilarious and very entertaining. We enjoyed our stay throughly and highly recommend Fairmont. We will be back next time when we return to Beijing

Overall a pleasant stay. But it was very poor value booking with AMEX The Hotel Collection.
1. Poor recognition - no mention of the supposed perks, and no rooms upgrade offered. 2. The usual USD$100 hotel credit is offered as USD$50 spa credit, and USD$50 room credit. (Note: Not the hotel's fault, but it was not mentioned on the AMEX site while booking) 3. The USD$50 spa credit is probably worth half of that. All guests to the hotel are given the equivalent of USD$25 spa voucher, but cannot be used together with the credits. An hour massage is upwards of USD$150. Tried the massage - while it was good, it's not worth 3X the average rates of a good massage in China.
Willow Stream Spa was underwhelming. Just a small swimming pool (3 lane?) and a small soaking pool that fits maybe 5 pax. I expected much better having been to the one in SG.

Can't give 5 stars to a hotel that does not warn you of a 1000USD deposit in advance and that they request a CREDIT CARD! Shame on them... I have never stayed a hotel where they collected that much money when our whole stay cost only 400USD. We didn't bring credit card and due to that, we could not use the mini bar, restaurant etc. There many other ways to charge for these things and I was very disappointed :( Not to mention their poor english. Other than that it could be such a luxury hotel, beautiful rooms, great service, I have got a happy birthday sign on my birthday and fresh towels and accessories every day.

Being trapped in China and not be able to use our favourite Fairmont - the Banff Springs. We decided to use the long weekend and stay with the Fairmont in Beijing
It was disappointing to see the normal standards of the Fairmont brand being downgraded. The normal welcoming and greetings were inconsistent, the housekeeping service was below average and no turndown service in the evening. The buffet breakfast ran out of food several times and was slow to replenish. The most dissatisfying part was their steak house which was recommended by staff. The steak was poorly cooked (overcooked and cold!), the only part they managed to cook well was the asparagus!
The hotel is very nicely presented and in a good location to which explore Beijing. Erik (concierge) was the only bright spot, he was so helpful in making sure our trip went smoothly and offered a professional, welcoming greeting every time we came back to the hotel. He also assisted with booking our trips and would recommend the current management to use him in more senior roles (he knows what 5* hospitality is!)
If you want a 5* hotel with 3/4* service, then this Fairmont is adequate, if you are expecting the traditional Fairmont experience then the current management have a big task to improve all aspects from front of desk, housekeeping and catering.

I travel to Bejing frequently and Fairmont gradually become my fixed choice of lodging over the past year. To me sometimes it is more than a hotel Once I went to dinner before check in so I asked my driver to take my luggage to hotel concierge. when I arrived hotel at midnight I was surprised that Mr Luca has finished the check- in and the luggage is ready my room. I think I was treated like a family member rather than a common guest, and I really appreciate his trust. My schedule changes a lot but I always feel safe with their patience. Fairmont is a reliable friend of me . I will recommend fairmont to my business partner because of sincerely service.

The Fairmont hotel is one of my favorites hotels in Beijing. The 85 square meters executive suite which I usually stay in, are a great value for money and very comfortable. The bed is really comfortable, the bathroom totally amazing, and the walk in wardrobe top notch. There is even a separate dedicated space for make up. In the living area, the dark wood desk is a pleasure to work on, and the toilets in the reception room of the suites are great for guests when having a meeting. The gold executive lounge is perfect for work and meetings as well as for breakfast. Discretion and high quality service is all what this hotel is about. The room downstairs for breakfast is noisy and too small. This is why I always take my breakfast in the gold lounge. I regret that they don’t use anymore “Le Labo” shampoo and shower gel, which was great. The hotel rooms are a little old but extremely well equipped with air purifier, massage chairs, bath salts, iron and so on. Reception desk is helpful. Location very central and convenient. The gym is amazing, the swimming pool is but ageing but decent. Easy to get a cab. Food at the Western restaurant is good without being exceptional. The chicken and mushroom soup (room service) is my favorite. Room service staff doesn’t speak well english which led to some misunderstanding sometimes.

Hotel is the standard quality you expect with all Fairmonts.
Staff help you quickly and in English. They are quick to help give you everything you need. Breakfast is diverse and delicious.
Lobby bar downstairs is nice for quick coffee and dessert.
Dinner and lunch room service prices are not different from the prices you see for western food outside the hotel.

Hello!!
I have stayed at the signature suites and the furniture is elegant and classic, very well preserved. All the times I stayed in those suites they were always at the corner of the building.
About the obscure situation, I think is just the classical colors they have in the decoration: black, red and yellow. The curtains have also a cover to let the room in total darkness if you dislike the morning light while you are sleeping.
Enjoy the stay!!! The concierge Mrs. Apple is so kind and supportive.

We stayed for 10 days. Furniture and fittings in gold rooms as beautiful and we did not feel they were either shabby or tired. I'm sure you'll love this hotel.
