This is a hotel that we could only dream about, until we stayed there. Service was 10 out of 10; the room/suite was beautiful, took us back to what the great hotels of the
early 20th century must have been like. Food in magnificent dining room was perfect in service, presentation , and taste. What a traveler's dream.

We had never been to China, but we wanted to walk on the Great Wall. We found this hotel on trip advisor and we could not have chosen better. The hotel is absolutely stunning! Elegant and palatial with sweeping staircases and beautiful artwork displayed throughout. There was a hushed serenity about it...we felt like we had stumbled on the best kept secret! And the service was second to none. We upgraded and paid a little extra for access to the Noble Club Lounge for breakfast and evening cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, and we are so happy we did. It was a welcome respite after a long day of sightseeing. We were there a few days before Christmas and the hotel was beautifully decorated. On our last night, May Tang the Resident Manager talked to us for a few minutes to personally welcome us and insure that we were enjoying ourselves. Indeed, we miss you May and we miss the Legendale -- our home away from home in Beijing. Do not hesitate to book this property!

Perfectly located, the Legendale Hotel is a very modern, well appointed hotel. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the hotel staff are very helpful and friendly, with a number of western staff that speak perfect English. The swimming pool and health club was a real highlight, with the hot tub being the perfect way to soothe weary muscles after days spent trekking the Great Wall or traipsing through the Forbidden City and the Hutongs. Highly recommended!

I travel to Beijing a lot and often wondered what this hotel would be like. It is an amazing looking building, something straight out of the streets of Paris only on a larger scale. And the name, what a name to live up to. Well, the building is out of place and the hotel didn't live match its name.

This hotel exudes bling and tackiness from the moment you walk in. The lobby is grand an impersonal and completely over powered by the expanse of the atrium (which is quite spectacular). Reception is tucked away managed like railway ticket office. While the check-in staff certainly know their job the experience was somewhat, well, "state owned".

Room was big and ostentatiously designed and just missing the attention to detail needed to pull of this design. It wasn't elegant but wasn't wholly unpleasant. Bed was comfy though. The bathroom was again big but in trying to offer super convenience it ended up added a particularly ugly manual curtain winder, quite bizarre.

Breakfast was really not good. Service was terrible - had my table taken away while I was in the queue for eggs (which are cooked in advance and consequently cold and hard). Food quality was very average, nice to be finished and out of there.

So, it wasn't unbearable, it was clean and the staff were not unpleasant but it was definitely missing something. If pushed or if there was nothing else in the area I would go back.

Stayed here for 5 days in November. Had a junior suite and it was very nice. Hotel is not new and has some deferred maintenance ( room appearance) but quality of accommodation is 1st class. Restaurant and service staff very friendly, helpful, wanted to please. Great location for visiting Beijing tourist sites. Also very close to subway if you’re willing to use that which we did a couple times. Suggest you hire a local guide/ interpreter if you want to make the most of your time. I highly recommend Alexandra lxy8923@sina.com . Fluent English, very very knowledgeable.

Our visit was 10% business and 90% tourism. Had a wonderful time and made new friends.

Have been to Beijing for couple years and passed by this opulent and majestic hotel, but frankly never went in. I decided to relax and get to know this hotel a little better.
The employees from the bellboy to the room attendant are just great. They could not do enough for you. Ciara and Richard at the Guest Services desk were always there in the lobby to greet people. Doorman was always nodding and happy. The rooms are comfortable and the atmosphere is clean and comfortable. I will be back!

Arriving from Shanghai to Beijing I proceed to arrive at my hotel the opulent Legendale Hotel. Though here for a very short time the stay was made memorable with the assistance of lovely Vivian and her gorgeous smile and her eagerness to help. Watching her work her fingers trying to make reservations for the sites was a sight to be seen. And a big thank you to Giacomo “Jack” for taking the time to speak with me and give a tip here and there. Every time I see Jack he was talking to a guest who was more eager to speak with him I think for the curiosity of seeing an Italian speaking fluent mandarin. The one thing I did observe was though on duty he took the time to play with a little girl that was very curious and preconscious. Last though my stay was short Vivian seeing I was departing taking the time to walk me out and ensure that I found my car and staying outside waving till my car was out of site. I think the Legendale is very lucky to have these two wonderful people. Let me not forget the staff in the health center the lovely lady at check in and the towering of man by the pool area where so inviting a thank you to the chef at the soup station who understood me which was a pleasant surprise. Thank you everyone.

We arrived just before Chinese New Year and the hotel was beautifully decorated for it. We found the staff helpful and courteous at all times. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable. Good Spa.The buffet in the evening was excellent and value for money. Easy walking distance to Tiananmen Square and easy to get to other sights too.

We only stoped for a drink after a long walk around Beijing, noticed the external architecture but the internal lobby is fantastic as well and the lobby bar is outstanding. Fantastic service and really relaxing. Best tea ever. Very peaceful experience.
