Just a one nighter between local flights from Wilson airport to safari areas. Great reception staff and very agreeable rooms but clearly the emphasis of the hotel is conferences and business personnel. As a couple we were of minor interest in the strategic thinking of how this new hotel operates. Reception staff could not do more specially when we had a problem getting our pick up hurried up a little to get to Wilson for our flight to Ukunda . BUT for this keep fit guy here who notes that the pool closes at 6 pm wanders to the 10 th at 16.30 and finds no chairs , no towels and no previous advice on arrival this is not the mark of an attentive hotel to detail. No one bothered when we looked surprised, no one cared as we stripped down , clothes dumped on the floor and jumped in. Calling Gregory, the bar staff member who we had served us earlier for a towel as he walked by delivered immediate results. Their event was clearly important to the strategy of the hotel but don’t forget us visiting couples. By the way which 5 star hotel has miserable accessories in the shower, a totally ridiculous economy ( and had to call for a second mini tube of hair shampoo, etc etc ) and don’t mention the ancient history coffee making please I have noted poor because the elements I mention here were important to us ……..as a business hotel they would matter less . btw the breakfast buffer needs more attention .…
Not what is advertised. 2 lane motorway between hotel and wildlife park, 6 lane motorway on the other side. Very noisy even over air con. The restaurant and bar close by 9 and there's no room service. You have to go to the hotel next door if you want anything. Only 1 person was at reception despite a lot of people arriving from the airport. The lift was broken. One room we were given had scaffolding outside it. Duty manager would only offer us rooms facing the 6 lane motorway. Wouldn't call us a taxi, told us to use Uber. We left within the hour. We can't understand why it has such good reviews.
Had a great time at Ole Sereni old wing with a park facing view. Great service, friendly staff and mouthwatering food !!! Moreover, the new wing and the roof top sky bar was amazing with mesmerizing views of the Nairobi national park on one side with a beautiful sunset and Nairobi cityscape with lights and a skyline on the other. Overall, it was a memorable 3 weeks at Ole Sereni and enjoyed every bit of the stay. EMELDA from the Big Five restaurant Kitchen did an amazing job with her cooking and her lovely smile with "morning" greeting was something everyone admired. MERCY from Eagles restaurant was one of the friendliest waitresses I have ever come across and she was always very courteous. DENNIS from room service and cleaning was super nice and neat in his work whereas his good wishes for the day kept us blessed. These guys made our stay memorable with their great attitudes and beautiful personalities.…
We really loved the atmosphere of the Ole Serini Hotel. It's was very creatively decorated and the interior design was noteworthy. Very hospitable friendly staff with welcoming personalities all around. The rooms were cozy, quiet, and clean. We have chosen a Park View Room on the 4th floor expecting a good view of the Nairobi National Park. Instead we had a mesmerizing view of one of the greatest national parks close to the heart of Nairobi. We enjoyed amazing views of sunrises, sunsets and a 02 of the big 5 and many more wildlife. The meals were really delicious and well reasonably priced. I must say, I loved the food and the service. Few of the wonderful personalities I met in my stay are Imelda (made me delicious omelettes at Bfast), Dennis (Room service) and Mercy (from Eagle's Restaurants). You need more welcoming personalities like this.. Overall, I had a wonderful 20-nights stay in this hotel and enjoyed it every day. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and hope to return soon.…
Nice hotel and convenient for a short business trip. A shame that a road was built between the hotel and the park which make the location quite noisy now. Food is really good. Breakfast is OK but not excellent. Rooms get a bit old and would need some refurbishing. They raised their price for a room B&B to 110USD with no view on the park which is a shame. If you want to face the park it is an additional 20USD. Animals seems far now with the new road and in dry season the dam seems empty so no much animals to observe.
Stayed for 2 nights on a b&b basis at the start and end of our 5 day safari. The rooms we had were both spacious and clean and there was an excellent spread on offer for breakfast. As we were returning after our safari for a beach holiday the Hotel kept our hard cases free of charge. On our return visit after our safari we had more time so after lunch we spent the afternoon in the pool and enjoyed the pool bar. We also had evening meal in the restaurant which was good and not very expensive. It’s only around 15/20 mins from Nairobi airport and an excellent play to stay pre and after a safari and you can even see some of the animals in the National Park from the Hotel
Excellent hotel, I feel very much at home, very hospitable, with welcoming personalities all around. Very orderly staff, Sandra has exceptionally been good, after six weeks of my stay, she impressively engaged me and my boredom faded away. This is my home from now on when am in Kenya. Lilian the deputy housekeeper of the floor, Victor the supervisor , the room steward who cleans my room they have been, Naomi, Moses, Nelson and Berlin have been super nice.
Taxi was one hour too late, left us standing at the airport. When they came with taxi’s = 120 dollars for a 10 min drive. Room was very dirty, smelled bad. They tried to charge us for stuff we did not order. At night, people tried to get into the room. Reception gave them the key to our room. People partying in the hamlways at night. No AC. Breakfast to go was not ready in time, still charged us. Very unfriendly staff. Ligths fell off in the room. Radisson Blue was much much better for the same price.
Airport taxi too late, a/c doesn't work, lights falling in the room, wrong key, no breakfast, bad shower, management not helping and just laughing with us, so expensive. Trust me, don't book there...
A nice experience for business and related travel. Highly recommended to business persons. The facility is not family friendly in terms of children friendly atmosphere. However, one enjoy a nice view of the Nairobi national park since the facility is located at the edge of the park entrance. Welcome all.
