I was beside myself with joy when I was in Palau.
Blue ocean view hotel was very cheap hotel but condition was great.
modern T/V clean bed, nice hotel staff.
even breakfast was fantastic.
only 18rooms, but all ocean view.
blue ocean view hotel is located at malakal beach. (it's public beach).
you can reach the beach within 30 second from the hotel.

it looks in but condition is best hotel in Palau!!!!

We were very pleasantly surprised with the quality of the hotel. The building could use some sprucing up but for 90usd a night, this was very good value for money especially since we only used it to sleep after our days out diving.

The room was very spacious with a big bathroom. The view of the Rock Island and the sea was beautiful as well. The staff were friendly and we would definitely recommend this hotel. We were probably the only non-Koreans there during this time.

I had mixed feelings about this hotel, here are the pros and cons:

Pros:
1. Nice views of the Rock Islands and the docks.
2. Housekeeping works hard at keeping things tidy.
3. Modern good quality flat screen TV (no premium channels).
4. Purified water in water coolers.
5. Very sunny rooms.
6. Nice balconies with drying racks.

Cons:
1. In room internet is perpetually broken.
2. Whenever you take a shower, the whole bathroom gets wet, this leads to mold.
3. Our sink leaked onto the floor whenever we used it, they couldn't seeem to fix this.
4. No elevator, so many steps up to fourth floor.
5. Breakfasts were salty ham, eggs, white toast, and cole slaw.
6. The first night, the Riptide bar facing the hotel blared thumping bass music ALL night (until 7 am).

Some other thoughts: The internet in the lobby is spotty, but this seems common in Palau. I thought they would have more Asian style breakfasts, given that they mainly cater to Korean tour groups, but not while we were there. So overall, not a bad hotel, but I was expecting more.

I thought it's very nice choice when you travel with your family, friends.. but not for honeymoon.
(because there is no room-service or bath with bubble , flower..)
It's really modern.
You can enjoy 3 kind of breakfast each different day.
(I felt chickensoup is yummy but ham was too salty)
It might be the best condition for price in palau.

Hotel was sufficient for what we paid. It was the cheapest we could find - internet is hit or miss - and really useless - but that is not the fault of the hotel, that is the situation on the whole island since they use satellite for internet. Beds were small and old. People were nice and very friendly. It was exactly what I expected and worked fine for my scuba trip. No luxury here, but made the trip affordable. No hotel access to ocean. Was never in fear of theft. It's pretty hard to find on your first day off the plane so bring a good google map printout.

First of all, the pics here are no the same Blue ocean View that we stayed at. I think it moved. Location was poor and we had a car rental. Rooms were not that clean. Value was not good, even though Palau is not great value on a whole. Pool was green and in a week, no one used it. We were disappointed with this as we had kids. I think this place was set up for package tourist from asia. Seemed like only large groups stayed there. Wifi only in lobby, which was fine with us.

The location has much to recommend it, overlooking the ocean in a quiet residential area.

It took me around 30-35 minutes to reach the centre of town, walking slowly (with a few hills too!), where there's a choice of small places to eat and shop.

My room was simply, but nicely, furnished with comfortable beds and efficient air-conditioning.

The building runs along two sides of a decent sized swimming pool.

Complimentary wifi, in the lobby, is pretty slow but was fine for emails, etc..

I thought that the fixed breakfast was good value, for $8 (but was a different use of ingredients than I'm used to!).

All in all I felt it was a value for money hotel where the basics are done well.

I was delighted with choosing the Blue Ocean View hotel in Palau. True to the descriptions the generous size room had a balcony and lovely view of the water and Rock Islands. There was the large flat panel TV and excellent reception. Breakfast was great and I appreciated the variety between traditional western styles and the Korean breakfast on alternate mornings.

The location of the hotel was convenient and within walking distance were several stores where we could get provisions such as ice and drinks. Plus there are several eating places nearby.

The hotel is well worth the cost which is great value for money. I highly recommend it.
