While on an island hopping tour I booked this hotel for the price and location. I received great communication from the hotel and they were able to arrange my pickup from the airport. My room was ready, even despite arriving at 2am in the morning. Sure the rooms are old, but its a place to lay your head. Each room has A/C, a desk and a small fridge. Is it the Hilton? No, but it fit exactly what I need and the owners were more than hospitable. If you’re in Palau, I recommend DW Motel.
Good value for basic accommodation. It may not have beautiful views, but DW is solid and reliable in all aspects. Good location, walk to town centre and restaurants. Clean, well-tended rooms, comfortable bed, good a/c + hot water, excellent service, great to have clothes washer and dryer on the premises. Ayako was a very helpful host. She provided precise and accurate advice on snorkeling tours, driving destinations, best local Japanese restaurants, which museums and locations to visit. Relieved the anxiety of visiting an unknown destination.
My wife and I stayed at this great hotel when we arrived in Koror. After 23 hours of traveling, it was the perfect place to shower and sleep before catching our cruise. The room was clean and tidy with fully functioning AC. The staff were cheerful and helpful, checking us in quickly. The property is located down a short side road off the main road. This kept the noise to a minimum, but allowed access to all of Koror's hot spots. Amenities are almost non existent, The common room has books for guests to read and beer for purchase, but I doubt there is a TV on the property. Be prepared to entertain yourself.
The DW is cheap by Koror standards. It is a great place to base yourself for diving. I liked it a lot, it has that laid back feel more in the style of South East Asia. We stayed in 4 different hotels in Koror and this was my favourite. It does what it says on the tin. Great facilities, clean and cheap. I have seen reviews that complain about the noise but this hotel was not as noisy as other more expensive hotels we stayed in. Flight times to Koror are bad so pretty much all the hotels have guests leaving in the early hours of the morning, many Asian guests lack the sensitivity of Europeans when it comes to sleeping. So be prepared to have some tolerance for cultural differences or travel with earplugs like me. 😀
DW is a great place to stay. People are friendly and helpful, rooms are very clean, it's off the main road but close to everything downtown, and wifi worked fine. I stayed for one week and was very happy with DW.
My son and I stayed at DW for 2 nights in Late May 2019. Perfect place to stay after the ridiculous arrival and departure flight times. The Motel is simple, clean, friendly and quiet. The beds were very comfortable, ac and mini refrigerator were quiet, and the staff are super nice and helpful. There is a nice communal lobby and kitchen area and an outdoor area for rinsing and drying dive equipment. Close to Koror downtown. Shuttles to and from are easy to get. We were there to scuba dive and used this hotel for our first two nights which was perfect.
Stayed here for a week while in Palau. Excellent service and the staff was very friendly and courteous. They have a kitchen that can be used to prepare meals and a water dispenser. The location is good and the town and restaurants are within walking distances.
Lovely friendly little motel in the centre of town, friendly staff and very clean. Great air con and free tea and coffee, and wifi. Will see you again if we come back to Palau.Good kitchen. Thanks Lee and Sara
Stayed 5 night at USD $70 a night on single basis. Palau is an expensive place so this is value for money in comparison. Perfect place to stay - if a traveller was planning on opening a guesthouse then this is probably how they would set it up. Attentive efficient manager who couldn't be more helpful. Free coffee and tea. Free filtered water refills. Free beach towel. Washing machines ($2) and Dryer ($2). Free Wifi. Lobby area to sit in. Kettle and toaster and kitchen to use as needed. Plenty of helpful advice about what to see and assisting with Tours or hiring electric scooter ($30) or car ($55). Return airport transfer $35. Fridge in room. Comfortable bed. Hot water. Air conditioning. Table and chair. Outdoor balcony area with table and chair. Rock Island Cafe (200 metres away) convenient place to eat with good food and a good selection. Close early Friday nights and not open Saturday till 6pm - but other cafes and restaurant within walking distance. Great choice in Koror.…
Spent 4 nights over 2 week period always friendly basic decor but clean ideal for koror town or local places to eat no pick up service from airport changed $25 normally $20 if organised by DW free tea coffee and drinking water, small communal area big question would I stop here again YES
