On arriving at the mini VIP port where you pick up the speed boat it went from good to great. 15 mins by boat across beautiful clear water we arrive at Nurai island beautiful dock . Immediately taken to our 2 bedroom beach villa. By golf cart . It is MASSIVE leads straight onto the beach . The whole island is like a manufactured paradise. Very green and lush. Staff brilliant. Cannot do enough for you. Restaurants sufficient and varied with adequate food. Reasonably priced , service very good . 2 minor criticisms . Bikes supplied are pretty worn out but work and sufficient for the job, if you like an alcoholic drink , it’s eye watering my expensive , a beer, it will cost you approx £15 for a half pint bottle , I think unnecessarily expensive and a feeling of opportunism by management I feel. If you cater for a worldwide audience, which it does then let’s not be greedy and opportunistic . All in all 5 stars and we have already booked Xmas. …
Overrated, we showed up and all the bikes were flat and filthy. The golf cart sometimes took over 15 mins. Not worth the money. The villas was beautiful and amazing but details were missed. I was supposed to get a call from the manager and that never happened.
We stayed at Nurai Island with the whole family (8 adults and 2 children) - we booked Nurai Island as it’s one of the few places that has a Villa big enough to accommodate all of us under one roof. We got upgraded to the estate Villa which had huge grounds and plenty of space to accommodate us all comfortably. The island itself is great - plenty of facilities, albeit some are slightly run down and were in the middle of refurbishment. There are plenty of building works on the island with new properties being built. The standout in the resort is the service - Naveed, our host, was incredible throughout and helped with every request. He even assisted with sourcing medicine from Abu Dhabi as someone was feeling unwell, no ask was too big for him. I also must give a big shout out to the chef, especially Kishan, who was very accommodating. As a group of vegetarians I was worried about the choices but they curated a special menu for us (including special Indian breakfast items) as well as adhering to any other ad hoc requests. Overall we had a great time at Nurai Island, the villas are expensive (as is the food and drinks on the island) but for us it was worth it. Thank you to all the staff for a great stay, we will definitely be back!…
We heard good things about this resort and were further enticed by the availability of sport activities, as advertised on Nurai's website. We were particularly keen on windsurfing as the weather and wind conditions looked just perfect for some relaxed, easy surfing . Once arrived we discovered that major refurbishment works were taking place and that one of the beaches was closed, leaving only one other beach available. We appreciate this is the season when the resort gets refreshed ahead of the upcoming busy season but it should have been communicated during the booking process. We made enquiries about the windsurfing and were told that not only it was not available but that it has never been practised on the island! Why is it advertised on Nurai's website then? The activities menu reads: "Nurai is your destination for all your non-motorised water sport activities, from SUP and windsurfing to sea kayaking and kite surfing". Hobie cat sailing is also advertised on the activities menu so we thought we would get at least some sailing as a second choice but that wasn't available either. We were told it's not available in this season which was not noted anywhere in the activities list on the website. It is not just disappointing but dishonest to market the resort as a sea sport destination since this is obviously far from true. We asked to talk to the resort's manager who first tried to deny these were amongst the activities on offer and when faced with the evidence couldn't do anything better than assure that it would be discussed with "senior management" and that we would get something special "next time". Mediocre food, appalling service, room tired and in need of refurbishment, unfulfilled promises: why would we ever go back? Mr Jnal should have aknowledge the issues highlighted and made things right on the spot, rather than offering vague, empty promises. The resort is beautiful, but badly let down by mediocre management and untrained staff. If you are the type of traveller who only cares about instagrammable pics maybe this is the right place for you. For anything else, look elsewhere.…
After reaching dubai as my friends suggested came to this island comparing the prices for the villas with most of luxuries hotels this place is bit high than i expected. BUT Once i enter its an amazing tropical paradise covered with trees and villas with amazing view towards the beach.its really worth the price as i never seen such a wonderful place in UAE and when it comes to service mr stephan From reception is the best .this gentlemen was always so hepfull and makings us feel like home hope fully we will be back again with all our friends and families for summer. Thanks NURAI and Thanks Stephan for the wornderful service.

Amazing stay …. The new year celebration was fun! The staff was very polite and helpful! Ashutosh was very cordial … There are quite a few activities to keep you busy.. Great experience staying in the beach villa 😃
On arrival on the 25th myself and my family a total of 11 visited the island, and it was a very disappointing experience. The service we expected was not the service we received, we arrived at the island at 11am, no information was provided and when we did receive the information this was incorrect. It took over 2 hours from 11am to 13:20 for restaurant information and 40 minutes to receive a menu in which we got ourselves, it seemed extremely difficult to get something so simple as a menu? The staff confirmed only 1 restaurant was to be open in the evening which was the Mexican restaurant and we were also misinformed of the location of the restaurant, we seemed to be chasing information continuously, we discovered later on in the evening all restaurants was open, how was this ? Please note the information provided regarding the restaurant was from restaurant staff at the brunch area, At one point my family was told by staff that they don’t deal with day stay attendees only long stay attendees is this suitable? We did make this known to the management, Later on in the evening we ordered food and this caused some confusion as it didn’t come as ordered, also having to request to remove the used starter plates and provide new plates for the mains, We was a family of 11 who planned to spend the Christmas at the resort with the expectation of a special experience, but was the total opposite I would definitely not recommend!…
The location and the Villa's, the layout of the resort are great. Incredibly relaxing and peaceful, rarely see other people around so very private. Only criticism is that the bathrooms are very 'open', so know your partner well enough! There are a few 'buts', however... - the restaurants are 'ok', but are not of the level of Wow! / exceptional. Not a great criticism of them, but I've had a lot better at other hotels in the UAE. When you pair this with the prices, it can be a little eyebrow raising in truth. They're also very empty, never with more than a couple of other tables occupied. I don't know where the other guests go, but...! - alcohol is expensive, even more so than the rest of UAE. You have to specify if you want alcohol e.g. in a cocktail, otherwise it comes without - which can be a little disappointing! - staff - they have a strong tendency to use what I suspect is the cheaper end of the staffing level across UAE. Very willing, but language is a challenge, repeating ourselves multiple times, often misunderstandings. - staff / grounds - they employ quite a number of people to work on the grounds to work. If you're a white female, expect to be looked at, even when you're with your partner. It's a little uncomfortable and yes it's 'cultural', but not a good part of the (well known) culture from where many of the staff come. Would we go again? Maybe, because we loved the island, villa, layout etc... But the quality of the restaurants isn't quite where it should be for this level of resort. One other note, the boat service works well, is regular and run well, which allayed one concern that some may have. However, they can be a bit slow to say the least when you want someone to collect you with your cases to return to the boat. Quite stressful as it seemed more important to take a few guests to breakfast than to pick up guests with their cases to get to the boat, to get to the airport. Really a bit dumb - and they somewhat laughed it off which wasn't exactly helpful.…
