I visit this hotel several times,it is in the center of Amman, all you may need around you, shops, restaurants, and cafeterias. the receptionist friendly and nice, but the rooms lacking maintenance, and last visit ,i and my family cannot stay there because the air conditioning were removed from the rooms and the receptionist apologize, that the hotel is doing maintenance.I hope that they do good maintenance for the hotel.

As a disclaimer, we only stayed here 6 hours between our 12am flight landing in Amman to our bus to Petra the next morning. The room for breakfast looked nice and the location was good. Also, we requested for someone to pick us up from the airport, and he was very nice and it was reasonably priced. However, we had requested a double and instead got a room with two single beds. The room was very worn out and although clean, we were worried about insects in the night. There was toilet paper but no towels in the bathroom and no hot water (again we were there late at night). Perhaps it is fine for a backpacker but we had misjudged this slightly from the reviews.

I stayed here for about 4 days a few months back. Very good location but it can be a bit difficult to find as the place is down an alley. The rooms themselves were alright...small, firm, but clean beds. The shower and toilet area is a bit awkward in terms of spacing but you can make it work. My biggest problem with the hotel was the construction going on while I was there. They were ripping up the street leading up to the place every morning and it was LOUD. Overall it's a decent place and the folks seemed helpful. Just your typical budget stay.

I stayed there one night in October and would say there are better options in the city... The airport pickup was reasonably priced at 20 JD but the room (single room) was so so and the bed and other furniture looked very old. Bathrooms need some work and the room light was very dim. Breakfast was a bit dismal and staff smoked too much in the lobby area and wasn't exactly very friendly, either. There were few other travelers in the lobby or anywhere in the hotel so it was very hard for me (I traveled solo) to find any fellow travelers who could form a group for tours in and around the city. I didn't know better on the first day but soon realized there were better options everywhere and moved to Jordan Tower Hotel, which was a lot better with a similar price range and had so much more guests. One good thing about the hotel is its prime location right at the center of downtown. But I don't think I would go back to the hotel or recommend it to anyone.

Pros: View of King Faisal Street, cheap price, helpful staff, room with balcony Cons: breakfast slow and very basic, bathrooms need some work Bottom line: We lucked out with our double room, which had a little balcony. We stayed here on our first night in Jordan, and it met our basic requirements. The staff are a mix of extremely friendly and a little surly, but at the end of the day, they all helped us get checked in, with wifi passwords, and booking a nice, reasonably priced taxi the next day. Our room also had a/c and cable television.

I travel as cheap as possible. I want good location. I want decent staff and a clean place to lay my head at night. With that being said, I had all of these things at The Palace Hotel. Is it pretty or well decorated - no. But I was able to get to all the "must sees" of Amman on foot - which is always a plus for me. The neighborhood is in the old downtown area - which I liked, you are able to see how real Jordanians live. This is not a resort area. This is the real deal! It was cheap and I have no major complaints. I think I spent around $20 per night in my own bedroom, with a bathroom and shower ensuite. I would go back for sure. Just don't expect luxury or satin sheets and you will be fine.

Let's start with the positives: 1.Friendly staff who speak extremely good English 2. Excellent location (if you don't mind a bit of noise) Negatives: 1. We reserved a double room over a month in advance and got a room with 3 single beds. 2. The bathrooms were pretty grubby, and I've stayed in a lot of budget hotels in developing countries and even by those standards, the bathrooms were not nice. 3.You're lucky to get a hot shower, this was the worst part. Taking a cold shower at 6am in Jordan in March is not much fun. In summary, by no means a terrible place but for the same budget, I'm sure you can find a better place in a similar location. If not, don't be put off staying here, it's not the end of the world.

This hotel is very low priced, so my expectations were low to begin with. However, I did think that there would be hot water in the showers (to be fair, sometimes there was lukewarm water, other times the water was completely cold). Towels are provided but they are very small half-size towels so bring your own! The lobby is a nice place to relax. Breakfast every morning is slices of pita bread with cherry jam, butter, cheese, hard boiled egg and coffee or tea. The hotel staff was nice and spoke English. The location was excellent, and my room had a balcony that overlooked the street with beautiful views of downtown Amman. Overall, I wouldn't stay here again but for a student or budget traveler, Palace Hotel is a good choice.

The rooms are in a bad state, the breakfast was the poorest I had during my trip in Jordan. The fotos on some hotel booking websites do not correspond to the reality. In other hotels nearby you get the same quality for less money.
