Dinner was the nicest we’d had on our entire trip, in a beautiful dining room with attentive service.
What a lovely way to end a vacation. I would highly recommend this hotel.
The taxi kiosk which is inside the airport and only 30 metres after you have cleared immigration arranges taxis for 20 JOD to the Opal hotel and it only takes 15 minutes. Alternatively, the Opal Hotel will arrange a transfer for you for 25 JOD.
We were pleased we chose this hotel rather than go all the way into Amman as we were heading south the following day. We had a very comfortable night's sleep and started the following day with a good breakfast.
From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I was impressed by the warm and friendly welcome from the staff. The hotel had a beautiful and modern design with elegant touches that created a luxurious and welcoming atmosphere.
The room was stunning, with a comfortable bed, soft linens, and a spotless bathroom. The view from the room was breathtaking, and the room had all the amenities you would expect from a high-end hotel. It was clear that a lot of thought had been put into every detail to ensure guests have an unforgettable stay.
The food at the hotel was incredible, with a variety of delicious dishes that catered to every taste. The restaurant staff was always on hand to make recommendations, and they provided excellent service.
2. Balcony doors in several family suite rooms we viewed did not lock, intruders could climb on balcony and slide the door easily to access kids and adults rooms within the suite, very dangerous
3. Hotel taxi which staff encouraged us to use charged us a flat 20 JOD for a 5 minutes journey (quadruple what a high quality uber would have charged us), Taxi driver lied to staff about the fact that I paid him a previous fair and told them he had given me a free ride! Additionally, front desk manager Ismail took 20 JOD from me for the taxi then added it again to room charge and lied to my face about me paying him on the day..
4. Hotel security insisted on inspecting my shopping bag from the famous sweet shop Zalatimo in case I'm smuggling alcohol into the hotel! Zalatimo does not sell alcohol by the way..
5. Very unprofessional on the whole, I was embarrassed as this was my first visit to Jordan staying in a hotel with my 3-year old daughter and British husband, it felt very intimidating at times and absolutely lacking in professionalism
6. My husband wanted to take my 3-year old daughter for a swim, was told she has to go with her Mum during "women hours" and we can't go there as a family
7. Restaurant staff were great and kind to my daughter, my husband found communication difficult as staff generally spoke very poor English
Very poor experience as a family and serious safety concerns and lack of professionalism putting profit before honesty. Won't recommend at all.
Spa is not for families. Cannot swim together as a family as different times for women and men, and only after 10pm at night! Utterly useless for a family.
Dinner was ok but hugely busy, so had to come back half an hour later, and when we asked to order from the menu, not the buffet, it seemed like an imposition. But they did also bring some complimentary dishes of starters, as well as the tasty pizzas we ordered.
Breakfast was confusing - you can choose omelette or fried eggs, but then a whole table load of items get brought too. Actually quite tasty but not really a choice. Mix of continental items, local dishes, fruits, meats, cheese, etc.
Felt like it was a hotel for locals, not international travellers.
The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The valet service is also very competent. A security check at the entrance and secure parking reinforce the hotel's sense of security.
We had two twin beds and a large room with air conditioning, functional bathroom, all the necessary comforts. The full contents of the minibar were included in the room rate as well as two bottles of water. The bedding was comfortable, we were able to rest before heading back the next day. Too bad, our room overlooked a wall, for the view, we'll come back.
Breakfast takes place on the 3rd floor with typical Jordanian fresh produce. It was very good and we enjoyed it. Excellent value for money with friendly staff.
Very good stay in a beautiful hotel.
The room is very large and even has a walk-in closet.
We also took advantage of the 24 hour room service, eating a good chicken shawarma.
Excellent value for money.
