The good points
Staff are friendly and helpful.
We were allowed a late check out at 1pm with no charge.
There is a bar
Shower Water is hot
Bottled water provided in room

Not so good points
Hotel rooms are very tired and in need of a refurbishment
Most rooms have connecting doors so a noisy guest next door can be quite intrusive
Evening buffet is very repetitive and only average.
Same for breakfast buffet but items would regularly run out and take a long time to replenish.
Only a bath towel provided per person, no hand towel.

We stayed as part of a tour group with Exoticca. If booking yourself it’s very cheap but be aware of what you are getting.

Great Turkish bath close by (Alf Layla wa Layla) and supermarket across the road.

This is a very popular hotel. It's location is good, and for everyone who is missing luggage you can just cross the street to the mall to get essentials. We were 3 days without our luggage with American Airlines.
The staff is great and check-in was ok, but he rooms could really use an update. Our first room's shower was fine, the second time the shower needs to be grouted and remove some of the mold. We stayed 3 nights before our tour and two nights after our tour before returning home. Buffet was really good. I'm hoping in the future they will spend some $$ and update the rooms.

I had been to Amman last week and it was a great 2 day short trip. Chose IBIS mainly for the comfy sleep guarantee and it really is. Pleasant staff, more than excellent restaurant staff that go a long way to make you feel at home. I could even get my Indian curry noodles made by them. Masks kept at every accessible location so that you never have to run back to your room to fetch one, incase you forget... Great Hotel ! IBIS once again you have pleased me..

Wow the pictures look so different from the hotel. I recognize the decor of the rooms but the reality is so different.
The upside is the rooms are clean and there are some nice restaurants close by. The service is nonexistent. They don’t help with luggage and if you call for toilet papers it will take a little time.

The room plugs work, but only half of them. The showers were decent. They provide shampoo and bath gel in a wall dispenser. Not great but gets the job done. Hair dryer worked the one time I used it.

Breakfast buffets are at best mediocre. The coffee machine doesn’t work. The substitute coffee they put out are basically sludge. Tea selection is decent. They provide some basic veggies with cheese and hummus. Breads are all very dry. People tend to touch every price to find a less dry option. Be careful. Hot selections are overcooked except for tomatoes, when they have them.

Dinner buffets are more meager as Jordanian eat simple dinners. Most people from the tour quickly decide they cannot handle the dinner buffet. Also don’t show up at the buffet late. You’ll be very sad.

I think Ibis is doable if you got put there by your your company. Otherwise look somewhere else.

I sent and approved triple or double room extra bed reservation. When I arrived, the receptionist asked irrelevant questions, such as "do you request single room for single person". I told him, no, you can check my e-mail request and approval". After the discussion, he provided me the room key and insisted to pay immediately without telling us that the room has no extra bed or the service person will send it later. Once I arrived the room I tried to call the reception but no answer. I went to the reception and he told me ok, the service man will bring the bed. The extra bed was sent after about one hour ( after 1:00 o'clock).
I used to stay in and recommend others to stay in Ibis, but now I feel dissatisfied.

Whole hotel needs a facelift. Scruffy rooms, stained carpets, leaking plumbing. Safe didn’t work.
Stayed here 1 night followed by 3 nights a few days later in a slightly better room found for us by the manager.
Breakfast and dinner were self service buffet with generally lukewarm food, even if you got there when it opened! Not good hygiene to have food hanging around neither hot nor chilled. Some people got sick in a fellow traveller’s group, but we were OK. Just think about 50+ different people using the same serving spoons!
Had a glass of decent Jordanian Shiraz wine one evening. No Shiraz available the next night, so had another red. On the 3rd night, no red wine available at all.
All staff were very helpful which made up for some of the basic deficiencies.

We arrived in the dark and from outside you get a preview of what it to come. The word Hotel has only the 'H' and 'O' lit. Inside, it is evident it is a budget hotel. 2 out of the 3 lifts weren"t working. The rooms were small, dark dreary and worn. Dirty tiles in the shower and mold. We had to be moved as the air con didn"t work and the bathroom door handle came off in our hands. Our rooms weren't serviced every day and when we asked for our complimentary water to be replenished they tried to charge us. Drinks in the bar varied in price in accordance with who was serving you. We were unfortunately half board and 2 people in our group were poorly due to the food. It was disorganised and chaotic at meal times with repetitive food choices which resulted in people eating else where. There were never any cups for drinks, the coffee machine was out of order and you were lucky if you could find any cutlery. Avoid this hotel at all costs, it was the let down of an otherwise fantastic trip.

Out of all the trips I had this year and of the several Ibis properties I stayed at, this has to be the most unsatisfying I had. There is no warmth from the staff and none of my concerns were properly addressed. The bar has a single staff who attends the order, prepares the order, delivers to room service etc. Worse is that when I asked if I can pack the food, they said they don't have anything to cover: cling wrap or foil. Unbelievable. I used to be happy with the 15 minute resolution promise that ALL provides, but Ibis Amman really failed me big time.

Our tour group was originally booked into this hotel by Exoticca/Jordan Beyond for two separate stays, the initial one of 1 night to start our tour of Jordan, and then 3 nights at the end after our visits to Petra and Wadi Rum. Our first and only night there ended up being February 5, 2023, as there were too many problems.

1. We were in Rm 132. Thermostat was not working properly and it was 24.5C. Tried turning on the A/C, but it wasn't working, so ended up leaving the door open to the hallway to try and cool down a bit.

2. We got on the centre elevator, along with a couple and a family to head down to see about the included dinner, but the elevator malfunctioned and had to pry the doors open and crawl out (we were stuck partway between floors). Told the front desk and was advised they were aware it was not working properly. No expression of concern, or apology.

3. Maitre D' at the restaurant told us we were not entitled to an included dinner, and sent us to the front desk. Spoke with a young lady (Nour) and she confirmed we were not on the included dinner List, so we gave up and grabbed some things from the grocery store in the Mall across the street.

4. We were on the non-smoking floor, but someone in room next to us was smoking. Advised front desk and they relocated us to another floor.

5. Pillows are huge and hard (had a kink in my neck the next morning).

That was enough for us and we opted to pay the US$45 per night for 3 nights and relocate to a better place. Payment had to be made in cash to our Tour Guide.

All but 4 in our group had issues during that first night's stay and also opted to pay to switch hotels.

My advice - stay elsewhere !
