To begin, hotel is perfectly situated not far from the city center of Jerusalem. Staff really nice ( special mention to Ata, Sami, Abu Khaled and the managers son who was there daily checking if everything is ok). Room with a double bed, mini fridge, mini tv, water heater and most importantly with AC! Bathtub pipes were leaking I called Sami and got it changed in 24 hours. Breakfast is typical Palestinian with Humous Eggs Sausage and White cheese. Bread sometimes isn’t tasty, I think the chef needs to place bed far from direct sun light, maybe place the eggs and hot food on the table by the coffee and put the bread on the other one and close the curtains. You can eat outside or inside, we had lunch one day and it was really delicious lasagne, not as good as French lol but really tasty. Is the hotel perfect? No not at all like all restaurants. I would clean the carpets in the hallways, clean the sports room ( it would take less than 3 hours per floor) just vacuum clean it. Once again thanks to the staff ( Ata Sami Laith and Abu Khaled, others didn’t even say hi like Alaa) Let me know if you have any questions

I had a 2 night stay here which I extended by 2 nights as my first days were busy and exhausting and I wasn't even paying attention to the room but to sleep, but now I am wondering what I was thinking! I had debated being nice to this hotel by not rating it and just saying eh, it's overseas, I've traveled a lot. But today, a mom and her child walked in, they were also assigned my room and given a key!!! That is my final straw, now I'll let you know the pros and cons. Pros: Staff is nice. They do a daily cleaning of the rooms, 2 years into Covid some hotels still don't do this. Location is pretty decent, though a hair hard to find as American companies like Google and Apple have the address a block off... Cons: My room has 3 beds, why? I guess I got some sort of family room. Only the main bed is half comfortable, fine, one bed for storing luggage and one for eating. No desk chair (also serves as the tv stand). No hair dryer. Wifi shoddy. No cord for the TV or phone, so, realistically, no phone or tv, they are just uh... sculptures. Fairly loud outside at all hours. Bed footboard missing, exposed plywood showing...! Only one outlet in the room. Exterior halls/carpet are very dirty, seems vacuums do not exist here, oh and the halls also serve as STORAGE for the hotel. Even if the rooms are fairly clean, my bathroom floor was wet when I checked in. Bathroom floor gets soaked for hours when you shower no matter how careful. Again, YOU GUYS GAVE SOMEOMNE my room key?!!!

My 5th time staying at the National Hotel Jerusalem, and each time it exceeded my expectations. Even though this hotel has struggled during the Covid-19 period, they have taken the quiet times to refurbish rooms, keep the hotel looking like a 5-star establishment and last but not least, build a brand new Coffee Cafe within the premises. The service given by the staff at this hotel is second to none; they cannot do enough for you whatever the request and whatever the time of day. The restaurant has a wide range of cuisines ordered by scanning a QR code and viewing their digital menu. The hotel is a 5 min walk to the Damascus gate; literally, you could not drive there any quicker. I will 100% be revisiting this hotel in December 2022 Thanks to Laith and his family for yet again a fantastic stay.

The hotel room was average and the toilet is ok. The hallway to the room I was in was strewn with cleaning materials. On the day of my tour, the front door was locked so I was not able to go to my tour.

I am definitely not the type to post negative reviews about places but I feel like other travelers should be aware... I booked this hotel for a trip with my father and due to Covid, Americans are unable to travel to Israel without special permission. And who can blame them for not wanting us at this point... For 2 weeks hotels.com and myself attempted to contact the property only to find that the property was closed due to Covid. I was told by Hotels.com 4 times that they couldn't reach the manager about the reservation. Last night I called again and was told that they had emailed again and if the hotel didn't respond in 24 hours to call back for a refund. GREAT! No response for 24 hours so I call back and after 2 weeks of not being able to reach the hotel because they were closed someone reaches the manager tonight after I was calling back for a refund. That manager denies the refund because now it is the day of the reservation... mind you google currently still says that the hotel is temporarily closed. We will be rebooking somewhere else in Jerusalem when we return. The lack of communication for TWO WEEKS just cost me over $600. You'd think during a global pandemic we might think about a voucher system at least... my emails to the property still are unanswered. Steer clear.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Each morning breakfast was delicious with a lovely view of the Mount of Olives. Also had one of my best dinners in Israel at their restaurant. The hotel location was also great, just a 5 minute walk from the Damascus Gate . I enjoyed being in the Palesintian neighborhood as everyone was very friendly and there were lots of good food spots nearby. Would love to return to the City of Peace and stay at this hotel!

No star rating for The National Hotel, Jerusalem! I booked this hotel in March 2019 on Booking.Com, The next day after booking, I tried to cancel due to a serious family emergency. The National Hotel, Jerusalem had already charged the full amount to my credit card even though the reservation was 5 days later. They refused to refund the total amount or even a partial refund. I realize hotels have policies but they could evaluate each circumstance and have some consideration. I tried calling long distance a few times and emailing them to get this resolved but since I will not be able to use the accommodation but they are not responding, Their website has been under construction for months, I have sent numerous emails regarding this matter. SAD. THEY DON'T CARE. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL! THERE ARE MUCH NICER AND FRIENDLIER SERVICE AVAILABLE AT OTHER PROPERTIES. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL!
