I stayed at the King David in August 2022 for 4 days. Always stay there whenever in Israel. Even made my son's Bar Mitzva there. Easily the best hotel in Jerusalem. Until now. Here's what's changed: Once legendary breakfast is a shadow of it's former glory. About 50% less offerings. No Halva bar, no Yogurt bar, no cereals and no more cheese selection. Completely new staff except for waiters. No poolside service and virtually nothing on offer at the pool bar except some supermarket canned mojitos and fake Pina Coladas. Staff are friendly but have no clue. Paid $200 pp for Friday night meal. No buffet. Received some MSG infused chicken consomme for first course. Second course was a selection of Tahini, chopped liver and some greasy eggplant and peppers. Third course was a choice of boiled, overcooked, pale and completely inedible steak on a bed of gelatinous mashed potatoes with some wilted broccoli or leg of goose that was dry chewy with the same unpleasant sides. Dessert was a tiny plate with 3 bite size gelatinous morsels that defy description and a small bunch of soft grapes.

Hotel was great! Rooms were large with plenty of space to completely unpack. Delicious breakfast buffet! Beautiful pool deck with very large pool, Jacuzzi and kids pool. Only drawback is available food at the pool. Poor menu choices/ variety!

this hotel was built in 1931 to be a grand hotel like the best ones of europe. we stayed at some of the best grand hotels of europe, and the experience at the king david is at the same level. no new hotel can compare with them. the location and the panoramic view of the whole old jerusalem and more is unique and stunning. (even better than the view from the ymca tower). the hotel has a great sense of historic events that happened here. the rooms, lobby, pool etc. are quiet large, modern and well maitained. jerusalem is a very special city and has nany unique sights but if you wish a top experience you have to stay at the grand dame of the city - the king david.

We couldn't stay at the hotel but really wanted to see it from the inside. We took the tour with Ron, he was so professional, nice and knowledgeable, it was really interesting to listen to all the explanations and to see the special pictures. The design is breathtaking and the history behind it is so powerful. Thank you so much!! It was a lovely experience.

the service at the swimming people is pretty much non existent - the staff are kind but without a rudder . when asked to turn the music down - which was blaring as i tried to order my meal , i was told the room was locked and only the food and beverage manager could unlock it - she was no where to be found !!! the duty manager is sweet but it is out of his hands !! there is not much choice of food - the lines are endless in high season and it is very expenive for what it is ! hen asking room service or lobby service again very unhelpful and unaccommodating especially with children .

I’ve waited 35 years to come to this hotel and it certainly exceeded my expectations. Since you walk through the door you are treated like royalty. The place is outstanding! Close to the important sites, restaurants are amazing! And the service is immaculate.

We were looking forward to enjoying dinner overlooking the pool at the king david hotel. Upon arrival, we were informed that no table was available- 5 min later a table was found. The restaurant was almost empty. There were at keast 6 peopke on staff. We waiting 10 minutes before I asked someone to take our order. My husband ordered the Caesar salad and i ordered the soup. The portions were so small- prices outrageous. We waited again for someone to approach with a dessert menu but no-one came. We paid for our neal. As we were leaving i spoke to the waitress Orel. A waiter approached - Hevel- and was extremely rude. Said tgat he told us that there were no tables as they were short staffed. I asked why he seated us- he should have just been honest. All in all a horrible experience
