Detailed Reviews
The Ibis City Center Jerusalem is in an ideal location with a 10 minute straight walk to the Old City in one direction and a 10 minute walk to Mahane Yehuda market in the other direction. It sits off the busy street where the tram runs and is in the center of a very active and vibrant area of Jerusalem. The rooms are basic and adequate with comfortable beds and the buffet breakfast (if you select that option) is outstanding. Those are all the positives.
The negative (and it is a big one) is if you are given a room on the side of the hotel where there is a bar directly outside the entrance of the hotel... The bar plays loud music and people talk and fight —yes fight and yell—in that walkway way area until 4 am in the morning. Even with the window closed the racket and noise woke us up all night as well as our other family member in a separate room 2 floors down but on that side of the hotel.
At check-in I had asked to be placed on the quiet side of the hotel (not knowing which side had the bar) and yet both our rooms were placed directly on the side where the bar was located. I would have given the Ibis a five star rating if not for this issue.
I want to assure that other travelers are aware of this issue so they can make an informed choice. We stayed three nights and unfortunately will not use this hotel again because of this. Also —there are two Ibis hotels within two blocks of each other —this is the Red Ibis on Elisar street while the other one is the green Ibis Styles.
I hope this review helps other travelers make an informed choice.

Location
In the city centre only 10 min walking distance to the old city. So you were among locals and tourists. You could also take the tram for 2 stations to reach the old city. A lot of shops nearby with great food, coffee and sweets.
Hotel
The hotel is next to a main pedestrian road where the tram stops, still a bit secluded so that it doesnt get loud. Depending on the season, you might have people sitting outside in bars etc., but we did not encounter any noise issue.
Rooms
The rooms are on the small side but comfortable, as one would expect from an Ibis. The bath was tiny, but well maintained and clean. There was little storage space, but again i know that when i book the standard room of an ibis. We were happy about our decision.
Food
We only had breakfast once, there was plenty to choose from for this hotel category. I did not expect this.
Employees
Honestly very nice even in tricky situations where customers tried to blame their errors on them. They helped us when we needed advice on how to reach certain restaurants and areas.
Guests
Very touristy, all ages, big groups etc.
Do you get what you pay for?
The price here is driven by the high demand and special location. Therefore it is ok and i would go there again to have the convenience. Based on the room/hotel facts alone the price could be half of what it is.

Good price, good location, nice and clean rooms, decent breakfast, working wifi, new and modern hotel results only in a quiet sleep. Generally very friendly staff. Only downside was that we could not get the rooms at 2pm (instead of 3pm check-in time, a bit of a joke) and the whatsapp messages are a nice feature but I am not sure if any read them when you respond. All in all would stay again. in walking distance to the old town, and many food and drink places just around the corner (as are banks). If you taxi driver pretends to not know where the hotel is, don't take it as likely he will overcharge you.

Before Covid19 we have stayed in Ibis Hotels in Europe and South America and were always satisfied with the location, the service, the rooms and the food.
After a year and a half of self-isolating, we finally decided to take a short vacation in our own country and Ibis Jerusalem was the obvious choice since we know the Ibis chain and knew what to expect. Or at least we thought so. We were very disappointed for the following reasons:
We arrived at the hotel on Thursday October 21, shortly after 3pm. There were two employees present at the front desk, both working on their computers, none of them acknowledging our arrival even after I said “hello”. This pattern of behavior continued throughout our stay. Their computer work came before greeting guests.
I inquired about parking space and was informed that there was no parking at the hotel and the closest public parking lot was a 10 minute walk from the hotel. So we left our luggage and went to park the car.
I understand that there was no option to build a parking lot but when the cost of the parking turned out to be more than 20% of the room rate! We spent 420 NIS on parking. I strongly believe this should have been brought to my attention when making a reservation. The guests of a Red Ibis hotel are usually not backpackers, and come with a car. Had I known beforehand I could have chosen to come by public transportation.
I also asked at the front desk if there was a Friday (Shabbat) dinner available at the hotel and the answer was that there was no such option. Please notice that we are talking about the Center of Jerusalem and on Friday evening all closes. Later on, I accidentally discovered there was a Shabbat Dinner at the hotel but there were no more places available.
After the first night I asked If there was a possibility for a flat pillow since the ones in the room were very soft and high and wrapped around my head. The answer I received is that there was no other kind of pillow.
We also complained about the noise of the refrigerator in the room (we had to switch it of at night), but nothing was done about this and no apology either.
Furthermore, we found it really disturbing that part of the hotel staff was without masks, both in the dining room and other -public- spaces.
In short, although the location is perfect and the rooms are adequate and clean, the staff is not very welcoming to say the least, and the lack of affordable parking makes staying at the Ibis Jerusalem City Center not verr

As others have reported, the hotel is located convenient to the city center. Gett taxis are easy to call up on your smartphone, like Uber, and so transportation to and from the hotel is easy to obtain. Rides everywhere was about $15 to most sites. The room is typical ibis. The beds are hard and the space open and clean and quite sterile in appearance. Outlets near the beds made using devices in bed while plugged in to recharge very convenient. No USB plugs. Bath towels were minimal, only 2. Beds are typical of ibis, very very hard when compared to the States. Their English was excellent. Price was excellent too.
But the most significant issue and why we would never stay there again was the noise. We were located on the alley side which we thought would mean there would be less noise. But nightly around 1 AM, for four straight nights that we were there, the bars must apparently close because every night the screaming and shouting would wake us up. The first time it happened, we thought it was a riot or demonstration because multiple voices were heard for almost twenty minutes. And then at 1:30 AM nightly, the hotel would begin dumping it’s trash into the alley bins making a Huge, with a capital H, racket.
Without the noise, I would have generously given it four stars.

Ibis is the budget friendly line of ACCOR hotels. The double rooms at this location reminded me of a Red Roof Inn or Days Inn but the comparisons stop there. There are two lobby areas (including a flat screen tv where the World Cup was broadcast), a conference room on the top floor and a kosher Israeli breakfast that would rival any 4 star hotel. The staff was helpful and accomodating. They offer 3 vegetarian soups for a modest fee in the lobby every evening that comes with bread. They have a bar area that serves alcohol and individually made coffees (also for a fee). The location is across from the light rail and close to major intersections for bus services and in the midst of a major shopping area including an American style pharmacy, several restaurants/cafes, clothing, gift shops and more. We walked a few blocks to reform Shabbat services on Saturday morning. They have a tiny prayer area and free hot water for coffee and cake on Shabbat. And there is a Shabbat elevator. It is common for Israel hotels to only have heat in the evening in the late fall/early winter. We were mostly comfortable during the day but bring an extra sweater just in case! Extra comfortors were available on request. We encountered several tour groups here from all over the world.

Very unhappy.
I have not even left London for my trip to Jerusalem and have now been charged TWICE for a booking I made and paid for in full in advance on 20 October 2019.
I have tried calling the hotel on at least two occasions but have been put through to a mailbox and received no contact in return.
My credit card is now down over $600 extra for a hotel stay I’ve already paid for.
Not a happy start to a trip I was looking forward to.

Usually when I book a hotel, I look at the location of the hotel first in the city, and in this case, this hotel got an EXTREME great location right in the middle of EVERYTHING you want in Jerusalem. weather you want to go shopping, walk around and discover most of the city by walk and can take metro ( transportation by city train ), cafes and restaurants are just few meters from each other, and dont forget if you want to get a good coffee or bite to eat, just right down the hotel building there is the famous coffee shop aroma with everything you need.
The hotel itself is amazing also from inside as it is located. I was happy with my check in, the front desk explained to me about the time of breakfast and so on. My room was super clean, the bed is comfy, the bath room is very clean as it's very important, you got towels and shower soap.
Breakfast at the hotel is exactly what you need to start your great day, it got really has almost everything from eggs, cheese, juices, bread, sweets, coffee, tea and other options as well, I thought it would be basic, but the breakfast I can call it excellent.
The hotel has a lobby seating area and also there is a coffee and bar area where you can drink and sit with a relaxing atmosphere.
My check out was super friendly and I still remember his name who checked me out called: Mr Kawasmi Mohammad, super lovely person, friendly, gave me alot of information and advice what to do in the city, what's here and there, and overall a nice chat. I want to say special thank you to Mr . Kawasmi, because some of the other hotels you just check out ( by leaving the card and go ). But such a chat with a human before leaving makes a great welcome back.
Overall, I like this hotel as I fly and book hotels often from all over the world, I will not recommend it unless I'm sure it's worth it. The location of it is great and amazing, warm, quiet and nice views from windows, comfy bed and super great breakfast, and right outside the hotel, everything you need just a walk a way, that's why for sure I do recommend and I will book again to stay for sure.

Ibis Jerusalem is well located being within walking distance of major sites of Old Jerusalem. It is also handy for the light rail that takes you the Yad Vashem museum in one direction and Old Jerusalem in the other.
I'd like to commend Naama on reception who was very helpful rived nd needed to sort out a problem with my bank. Sadly the same cannot be said for most of the rest of the staff especially in the bar where they had a problem accepting cash payment for drinks I had to insist on making payment rather than their preferred option of charging my room for their convenience.

We loved the central location of the hotel, close to the central shopping and entertainment areas (Jaffa Rd, Ben Yehuda pedestrian mall, Mamilla mall etc) and close to the Old City.
The room was clean and comfortable but cramped. No real closet or dresser for unpacking: just a weird alcove in the corner with a few shelves and hangers. The room was quiet so we had a good nights sleep on a comfortable bed.
The bathroom was disappointing: no shampoo, no tissues and only two small, thin bath towels.
Reasonable Israeli hotel breakfast with good coffee, pastries and salads but disappointing selection of cheeses.
Front desk staff were friendly.

Our room had a fridge and it wasn’t filled to overflowing with their own stuff. That great. BUT, when the room key card is removed from the electric receptacle at the entrance to the room, the fridge would turn off just like all the lights and other electricity outlets in the room. So our stuff did not stay cold when our room was left for long periods of time sightseeing.
