I have stayed here twice now. Most staff don't speak English, but the manager, Gayane, does and she was very helpful. The rooms are clean and the beds were comfy. Some rooms have baths, which is quite unusual for hotels in Armenia and it was really nice to have this experience. The breakfast is basic and the rooms don't have tea and coffee making facilities, which is a shame, but for the price it's still good value. I was a bit disappointed on my second visit with the behaviour of one of the gentlemen on reception. When I arrived, Gayane was dealing with another guest and as he was free I approached him and tried to communicate via Google Translate. He seemed quite affronted and pointed for me to go to Gayane. At times during my visit, I tried to say hello to him in Armenian and he didn't respond. Of course I may have offended him, which I hope wasn't the case, but this made me feel sad.

Service was excellent with friendly staff. Rooms were a bit small and could have been a bit cleaner. The matrass was pretty hard. The place is right around the corner from the American University. Not sure if I would go there again.

Hotel is fine (although restaurant wait staff's attitude could be improved), but it is a one mile walk to the Cascades & any restaurants. (We clocked it). Breakfast nominally starts at 7:30 but bread and milk for cereal doesn't come out until 8:00, even if you ask. If you don't feel like the 1-mile walk to the Cascades area (which is mostly touristy cafes) or further to other areas, then the hotel has a decent restaurant for dinner. You may need to knock on the kitchen door to exhume the waiter. Rooms are comfortable. All in all I'd check out the reviews on other hotels.
