This 100 year hotel is conveniently located in the heart of the old quarters. The staff and service is very polite and hospitable. The breakfast is served in the restaurant in the garden which is very beautiful. They provided us dishes which were not in the buffet as we were vegetarians. Van Anh,assistant manger of the restaurant was very accommodating and even packed a sandwich for our journey ahead. Thank you so much for the lovely stay
The Metropole was the first hotel we stayed in on a recent trip to Southeast Asia. So impressive. Everything from our room, to the service, to the location were great. I want to especially praise Hien at the Concierge desk. Every time we had a question, or an issue, she provided the perfect solution.
The hotel is in the center, so it's super easy to access good street food area or enjoy the lake view which is quite beautiful and noisy. The service is totally amazing, staffs are nice and supportive.
Beautiful property in the heart of Hanoi. Fell in love with its gracious old world charm. It is fabulously furnished and the old wing is even better than the new one. Excellent & attentive staff. It has several restaurants and we went twice to its bar Angelina. Highly recommended. Great music, nice crowd and very tastefully done up. Not to be missed. Breakfast in the morning was a treat and the variety of food made for very difficult choices in the morning! A very nice luxury hotel and I would definitely stay here again if I visited Hanoi.
We loved our few days’ stay at this historic Hanoi hotel. Lovely room, nice pool area with bar, and a good breakfast. We joined the history/bunker tour which they run each day at 6:00 pm and it was fascinating to hear tales of the hotel’s wartime role led by an employee whose relatives had been involved in the war. Great cocktail bar in the old part of the building and the Angelina bar too with its Happy Hour was well worth a visit. A great start to our holiday!
This was our favourite hotel during our tour of Vietnam - we absolutely loved it! The history tour of the hotel is definitely worth doing - just book it up when you check-in as it does get booked up quite quickly. Our bedroom was quite large for a city hotel although the bathroom was relatively small and only had a shower over a steep-sided bath. The hotel lobby was always busy but with such a lovely vibe, I could have sat there all day watching the guests coming and going! Breakfast was amazing, one morning we sat at one of the outside tables by the pool in the sun and it was glorious. We ate in the conservatory style restaurant one evening and the menu and setting was perfect. We just wanted a casual, relaxed meal but there were other guests there dressed fairly formally - it seemed to cater admirably for all. The concierge service was very friendly and extremely helpful. A very memorable hotel steeped in history - Would happily return to Hanoi just to stay here again!…
Unfortunately we arrived late in the evening. No rooming, did not make us feel special. Executive lounge was somewhat ok. Pastries below par for a French hotel brand. Bar was ok, nice decor yet staff speaking loudly. Overall not impressed , not living up to a (past?) reputation and expectations, expensive for what it is.
This was our favorite hotel in all of Vietnam. We loved the bedding, the pillows, the room, the warm and friendly service, the cleanliness, the delicious breakfast buffet. Was a wonderful experience. The staff were so welcoming and helpful.
Great location right near the picturesque Hoàn Kiếm Lake with an easy walk to anything in the Old Quarter. We enjoyed our room and breakfasts were very good - the staff accommodated my wife, who has celiac disease and can’t eat gluten, by making special dishes for her, and I enjoyed the extensive buffet. Also, their airport pickup service was fantastic - honestly one of the most comfortable cars I’ve been in. Would stay here again next time we’re in Hanoi!
We didn’t stay at this hotel, only experienced their spa services which were truly amazing. My husband and I get massages on a regular basis in the US so we decided to really treat ourselves while on vacation. We booked the “Just the Two of Us” spa package and were completely blown away with the quality of the facility and our masseuses. We highly recommend both Ms. Duong and Ms. Chi. Both were truly top notch. We are still floating on cloud nine!
