Nice hotel on beach road, rooms were a good size, we had a family room with a king size bed and 2 singles with beach and pool views, very nice, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was great with lots of options, restaurant was also open for lunch and dinner, food was great and reasonably priced, with live music of an evening. Easy access to the beach with a family mart next door. a short stroll up the soi to 2nd road and the Central Marina Shopping centre. The pool was a good size with 3 areas, bean bags and pool loungers to laze on.

Stayed for 3N from 9th to 12th Feb. Nice hotel, staff and service efficient and friendly. Location right on beach road at the quieter and classier section of beach road. We had a deluxe seaview room and the only complaint was the room though redesigned looked pretty basic. No chair in the room. No cupboard,no drawer to keep ones wallet, bathroom felt super tiny. No mirror in the room either. Balcony was too small and more for a single smoker to stand and have a quick smoke. The AC compressor unit makes to much of noise to even keep the balcony door open.
Food was great and definitely worth revisiting inside of the room issues.

While the room was generally tidy and spacious, everything else about this hotel wreaked of a run down 1940's apartment block in NYC.

We booked and paid the premium price for a "Grand Deluxe Sea view" room, but we're soon dissapointed to discover that on level 3, the panorama was blocked entirely by palm trees.

Mai pen rai... fronting beach road and directly on top of the resorts restaurant, we were instead blessed with the subtle, soothing sounds of traffic and the resorts dining guests in direct earshot of our window. This accompanied by the loud band that played on late each night.

Each day also welcomed the sounds of crashing bottles and glassware, as the crates were transferred to and from the storeroom in the corridor adjacent our room.

I also loved being whisked away to those memories of childhood days, with the ringing of an extension bell in the corridor, each time the front desk attempted to call one of the rooms.

Let's not forget the 500 baht deposit for the second card key to the room and the blood stained bed linen.

It's the little things like this that made the stay so memorable.

First the pros
Fantastic location .... In north Pattaya...so away from all the ' action '. Good if you are with family. Right across the beach....fantastic views from the higher floors if you have a sea view room. We had the biggest Grand deluxe room & it was very spacious.Bright & colourful. The cons
The place feels cheap....threadbare towels....cheap feeling linens....the bath which looks like granite on the website is actually particleboard ..... Cracked glass everywhere....
The breakfast was SO bad.... Felt it was just not worth getting up for. Cold breakfast at 9.15 am?
But for us the real disappointment was the staff. We travel to Thailand a minimum of 3 times a year & have stayed at numerous hotels over the past decade. But have not experienced such bad attitude from the staff. Most unpleasant to hear the hotel manager Mr. Kasem insist we have to pay for breakfast for our son when we were already paying triple occupancy rates with bed & breakfast. Also most disturbing to hear him shout to from the first floor to the front office asking them to take payment first from the 'Indians '...... Probably not knowing that we have a working knowledge of basic Thai language. The front office staff were very apologetic when they realised that we had understood his rude comments, but it had left a very unpleasant feeling behind & we decided to check out after one night.
We got a fantastic deal at the resort where we normally stay, even though we were walk ins as the staff remembered us from our trip last year.........
Sandalay..........was a sorry experience for us .........I'm sorry to say :(

The hotel is showing its age with a lot of wear and tear. The standard rooms are tiny at only 23 Sq. Meters. I opted for the larger room at over 50 sq. meter. If you don't pay extra for a room with a beach view, you'll get a room with a view of the adjacent building which is not a good sight. The front desk inadvertently gave me breakfast vouchers for my three day stay. On my first day of breakfast after presenting the voucher to the restaurant employee(with the date/room/name) I began to fill my plate with food at the buffet. By the time I was about to sit down with my breakfast, the restaurant employee informed me the voucher was not valid. I protested, placed my plate on the table. Without touching my breakfast, she suggested I check with the front desk. The front desk expecting me with a sheepish grin said they were sorry, my room did not include breakfast. I told them they gave me the vouchers, I had a full plate and was embarassed by them asking me to leave and that my voucher was not valid. The front desk really needs more training. More than half the staff have trouble communicating in English. I would not return to this hotel. At best, the hotel is 2.5 stars.

DARK HOTEL - TERRIBLE - OLD PROPERTY
In my opinion it is a dump
There's a Terrible Mouldy smell in Rooms
Paint falling off the ceilings in the room,
RUDE STAFF
WINDOWS THAT WON'T CLOSE
BROKEN FURNITURE

The hotel really is badly in need of a complete renovation!

I stayed here two nights total.
I arrived and it seemed they were either undersatffed or the staff were new.
For the price I was gonna pay, I wanted a beach view. Great, I add a few more bucks to get a better room but i first requested a tour of two or three room types to choose from.
I chose the deluxe facing south and I got what I paid for. A Spacious room - though the beding was in the middle. The room was awesome. I love the Bathroom shower stalls relly retro.
The pools weren't too much for swiming but attractively nice for lounging and sunbathing.
Food wasn't too special but yeah, go ahead and enjoy the breakfast in direct view of the ocean.
Great location at the end of soi 3. Just a walk down there's soi 6 with alot of entertainment not too far away.

We have stayed here several times and will do again. The rooms have a luxurious feel, are clean and well decorated. The views are GREAT. The pool is good. Breakfast is very good indeed - lots of choice - and the chef cooks a great omlette to order. The food is good in the restaurant too - reasonable prices and a good location for people watching. The beach is just across the street. You can walk to Walking Street in about 25 minutes or, if you are lazy (i.e. on holiday) like me you can catch the Baht Bus. Staff were fine. Highly Recommended.
