Food was great and definitely worth revisiting inside of the room issues.
Good bur limited choice of breakfast for vegetarian specially. Nice pool and lobby .
Overall good experience. only no bell boy there at the time of check in and reception people were not good in communication
We booked and paid the premium price for a "Grand Deluxe Sea view" room, but we're soon dissapointed to discover that on level 3, the panorama was blocked entirely by palm trees.
Mai pen rai... fronting beach road and directly on top of the resorts restaurant, we were instead blessed with the subtle, soothing sounds of traffic and the resorts dining guests in direct earshot of our window. This accompanied by the loud band that played on late each night.
Each day also welcomed the sounds of crashing bottles and glassware, as the crates were transferred to and from the storeroom in the corridor adjacent our room.
I also loved being whisked away to those memories of childhood days, with the ringing of an extension bell in the corridor, each time the front desk attempted to call one of the rooms.
Let's not forget the 500 baht deposit for the second card key to the room and the blood stained bed linen.
It's the little things like this that made the stay so memorable.
Not helpful !
So... poor owner loose the extra income from the drinks. And we do drink a lot everyday.
Oh well. We drink somewhere els.
Fantastic location .... In north Pattaya...so away from all the ' action '. Good if you are with family. Right across the beach....fantastic views from the higher floors if you have a sea view room. We had the biggest Grand deluxe room & it was very spacious.Bright & colourful. The cons
The place feels cheap....threadbare towels....cheap feeling linens....the bath which looks like granite on the website is actually particleboard ..... Cracked glass everywhere....
The breakfast was SO bad.... Felt it was just not worth getting up for. Cold breakfast at 9.15 am?
But for us the real disappointment was the staff. We travel to Thailand a minimum of 3 times a year & have stayed at numerous hotels over the past decade. But have not experienced such bad attitude from the staff. Most unpleasant to hear the hotel manager Mr. Kasem insist we have to pay for breakfast for our son when we were already paying triple occupancy rates with bed & breakfast. Also most disturbing to hear him shout to from the first floor to the front office asking them to take payment first from the 'Indians '...... Probably not knowing that we have a working knowledge of basic Thai language. The front office staff were very apologetic when they realised that we had understood his rude comments, but it had left a very unpleasant feeling behind & we decided to check out after one night.
We got a fantastic deal at the resort where we normally stay, even though we were walk ins as the staff remembered us from our trip last year.........
Sandalay..........was a sorry experience for us .........I'm sorry to say :(
In my opinion it is a dump
There's a Terrible Mouldy smell in Rooms
Paint falling off the ceilings in the room,
RUDE STAFF
WINDOWS THAT WON'T CLOSE
BROKEN FURNITURE
The hotel really is badly in need of a complete renovation!
I will let the pictures speak for themselves,
I arrived and it seemed they were either undersatffed or the staff were new.
For the price I was gonna pay, I wanted a beach view. Great, I add a few more bucks to get a better room but i first requested a tour of two or three room types to choose from.
I chose the deluxe facing south and I got what I paid for. A Spacious room - though the beding was in the middle. The room was awesome. I love the Bathroom shower stalls relly retro.
The pools weren't too much for swiming but attractively nice for lounging and sunbathing.
Food wasn't too special but yeah, go ahead and enjoy the breakfast in direct view of the ocean.
Great location at the end of soi 3. Just a walk down there's soi 6 with alot of entertainment not too far away.
"Go for sea facing rooms but before checking in have a glance to see whether you can peep into the bath room through the closet. "Read full review
