The modern hotel is located on the 2nd road which means it is not on the Beach but just a block away. It is close to many shopping malls like The Avenue, Royal Garden Plaza and just a short walk away from the Central Festival. It is also close to attractions like the Beach, Ripleys Believe it or not, Walking Street and Soi Buakhao.
Unfortunately, Walking Street is in the opposite direction of the traffic flow (2nd Road is a one way street). So you either have to walk, take a motorcycle taxi or walk to the Beach Road and catch a Baht Bus. For the other attractions in North Pattaya, you can always catch a Baht Bus right from 2nd Road.
The hotel is in a busy area with many malls, bars, massage shops and restaurants around it. It is built around a large and beautiful pool with the rooms overlooking it. There are several restaurants and bars in the hotel including a rooftop bar. The restaurant by the pool serves a decent buffet breakfast. The wine tasting (MyGlass) package allows you to sample 4-5 wines with some cheese and crackers and the afternoon high tea provides some snacks and beverages which is great if you are feeling hungry. The hotel also has a spa and a fitness center.
The lobby and the pool are expansive and feature a modern decor. Rooms are also decent sized, feature a modern decor and have a small balcony overlooking the pool. However, the rooms have a slightly quirky design which may not appeal to everybody. The bed is in the center of the room and has soft LED lighting on its sides which is great for a romantic night. The table is behind the headrest. The bathroom only has a shower and toilet while the wash basin is in the room.
Apart from the quirky room design, the hotel has a great location and excellent service.

The Barracuda Hotel:
I stayed here for three nights between 6-9 March 2020 and I was very pleased with everything the hotel had to offer.
I was staying here with some friends to celebrate my birthday. The staffs were very friendly in fact they brought a birthday cake up to my room and then proceeded to sing happy birthday as they handed me my cake.
My room was superb. King Deluxe Room and the bed were very comfortable. There was a rain shower in the shower area and bath gowns included. The hotel site is pretty central to all Bars restaurants and within comfortable walking distance to the beach.
I did not book the breakfast so cannot comment

Only one minor negative: I gave up filling up the jacuzzi after a while. I would be still sitting on the edge with my feet in 2 inches of water until now - with such a low water pressure. Oh, and no Heineken available.

Firstly, I have to say the staff here are very friendly and accommodating, hence the three stars. In particular Front Office Manager “KF” .... she was excellent. HOWEVER I must warn guests that this is simply not a 5 star hotel nor is it up to the same standard as normal MGallery property’s within the Accor group.
We left after just one night and had the remaining four nights cancelled.
The room fittings are of poor quality and many parts of both rooms (including the suite) are marked/scuffed/stained. The rooftop sunset lounge was closed and we were not notified prior to our stay. The hotel itself is practically dead, and not a single guest used the restaurant at night. The atmosphere was severely lacking.
Upon check out we paid the bill from our buy-one get-one-free cocktails during happy hour and discovered that even the “free” drink had service charge and taxes applied to its value. When I mentioned at check out that it isn’t really a free drink I was left a number of blank stares so I didn’t bother disputing it.
Ultimately this experience comes down to poor General Management and Accor need to seriously review who is managing this property and determine an appropriate brand as MGallery is misleading.

Nice looking design hotel in the middle of down town Pattaya. Rooms are big and has unusual and nice design but with a strong smell of mould. Beds are of the best quality. Bathroms are spacious and nice but unfortunately not cleaned very well. We complained about this (for the first time ever), but even after that the showerwall had black grimy mould and dirt on it. It had clearly not been manually washed, only sprayed down for months. Bathproducts are of smallest possible size and smelled of cheap citronella. Towels were well worn, some had holes.
Pool is of medium size and without sun most of the day. Furniture here has seen better days, they were full of stains and fabric has plenty of holes in them. This area is clearly not cleaned weekly.
Breakfast is not luxurious, but feels distincly lowbudget. Small selection and what is there is of cheapest quality. Juice is not fresh, bread tastes of bake off. Salmon (not served every day) was cut thin and was grey. Ham and sausage had the same grey colour. Smallest selection of hot items I have ever seen. There is a nice egg station where you can have a dish made to order.
This is designwise a great hotel, but it is clearly underfunded. Feels worn, unkept and lowbudget. Will not retur, there are plenty of places that give better value in this city.

Stayed here for the 2nd time late last month. Overall have to say it was a disappointment. The Property is using the Sofitel MGallery name under false pretences - nothing more than a glorified Motel. Check-in was slow. Little or no recognition of being an Accor Platinum Member and that we had stayed previously. The English of most of the staff is not quite up to standard and certainly has not improved from a previous stay nearly 3 years ago. They try hard but in my opinion they lack direction. They could do with an onsite manager who speaks good English to guide and direct them more professionally. The food and service in the restaurant is average at best. Service for breakfast on the first morning of our 2 day stay was nothing but diabolical. The rooms are OK being clean but with a strange sort of layout. The biggest positive for the property is the swimming pool. Will not be going back for a 3rd stay.

Location was good. But did not like the layout of the property. Room was very small. The wash basin was inside the bed room. When one person uses the basin the other people cannot come in or go out as the basin was right on the corridor. The buffet breakfast is not a full buffet. Need to order and the it takes a hell lot of a time for the food to arrive on the table. Once ordered and item and it came after more than half an hour when I was about to leave; half an hour to make a simple omelette? Once ordered boiled eggs and that never arrived. Don't what happened to the eggs: may be the hen is yet to lay them. And on a couple of occasions, some food was placed on our table which we never ordered! The staff looked artificially courteous. Out of the numerous times we went out and came in (with a baby stroller), only twice there was a person to open the heavy glass door for us at the entrance.

The Pros why I gave Very Good rating.
1. Front Office staff KF, Pate,Gifgaf,Jack,Nop - They make my stay homely whenever I visit by their very friendly attitude and always helping nature.
2. Great Location
Now the Cons.
1. No improvements to rooms
2. Old Linen
3. Horrible breakfast buffet with very limited options - This is going bad to worst.
4. Evening drinks and snacks provided to members are very limited and no alcoholic drinks served
5. Very limited Television channels with bad signals.
Being an Accor Gold member I expect more standards and Accor Group has to evaluate this property and decide whether to keep this property under AccorHotels.
I have to think twice if I want to stay at this property during my next visit.

In regards to the hotel facilities, I have well noted the fact that the overall designs along with accommodation facilities have not met your expectations. We have started to mildly renovate several floors in the past few months and are planning to pursue this renovation process. I am truly sorry to hear that breakfast failed to live up to your expectations. The hotel is an older hotel in Central Pattaya on Second Rd. It is conveniently located to food and bars, and a 10min walk to the Soi Buakao Markets. It is only a 5min walk down to Beach Rd and the Beach via Soi 13/1 or Soi 13/2. The room was well appointed, but we found the Air conditioning a bit humid leaving the feeling of everything being damp. We had a room on the 4th floor overlooking the Pool. The Pool is nice, but some of the decking around the pool is in need of repair. Breakfast was good, a buffet with a good selection of Western and Asian foods. The staff were fantastic, and very professional and polite. I observed them putting up with some difficult guests and they were very professional in their handling of those guests, do the best to meet their demands, Overall it was nice stay, and I would stay again when next in Pattaya.

If anyone else wonders about this i got an amswer from this hotel that this is a smoking free hotel and no smoking is allowed even at your own balcony. Only dedicated smoking area outside. Thats disapointing as i like to have a sigarette with my beer in the evenings out on the balcony
I just checked out of the hotel, and there was a notice that the pool would be closed for maintenance from mid month to the end of the month. They offered a pool at a sister facility, I’m not sure how far away.
All deluxe rooms have balcony facing pool side,
Only 4 rooms have no balcony and have street view.
