huge room, very cheap comparative to others around chiang mai. (double bed) lady at reception very friendly very helpful, completely non pushy with tours . nice location very close to the east gate. highly recommended and good value for money.
I had a amazing time at this hostel! The owners of tipsy manor made me really feel at home. I would highly recommend this hostel. The location is also very good, shops and nice places to eat in a hand reach.
As with many hostels in Chiang Mai, tipsy manor also is a tour guide center. The hostess can help make reservations for any tour you would like to take. Ask them plenty of questions if this is your first stay. Clean and well kept. No AC though, if you like AC, I would switch to another hostel, but it doesn't matter as much in Chiang Mai, nights get cool, so just open a window or turn on a fan. :)
I got a big room with with fans (3 of them!) and shared bathroom for 350 baht. The bed was large and unconfortable. There was an unused and locked door between my room and another one and I could hear people talking at night. The staff is nice and some of them speak good English. The location is good. Good wifi.
I can highly recommend this hostel! Slept in the private fan-room, private ac-room and in the dorm and I don't have anything to complain about those rooms. The commom bathrooms we're always clean too. The hostel has a common room with a pool table and a tv with loads of programs and movies on demand. Perfect when a rainy day comes ahead or for those lazy evenings. The hostel is quite near to everything from food, markets and pubs. The best part of the hostel is the owner Kunthara and Tanison that worked there when I was there. So helpful with feeling at home, book tours for good prices and showing us what you should see and do in Chiang Mai. We also went to the pub some times together. Truly amazing people and it was a bit sad leaving that place!
