The Ago Hotel was our respite from the extreme heat and humidity during our visit to Bangkok. This hotel may be small, but it is big on service and smiles. It is extremely clean; the rooms are simple and tastefully appointed; the restaurant has excellent food; and the service by their delightful staff is warm, extremely accommodating and impeccable. The proprietors, Mr. Vee and Miss Ploy are dedicated to ensuring you enjoy your stay in Bangkok. They offer personalized service that you cannot get at a larger hotel chain. Their little restaurant must be the best kept secret in Chinatown. They offer a delicious selection of Thai and western menu items as well as bar service. And, their smoothies are not to be missed. They are so tasty and refreshing coming in from the heat of the day. We’re so happy we found this hotel and we look forward to staying here again!

When one was inside The Ago Hotel, one will feel like among friends. The warm welcome by the staff and owner, the hospitality extended thru out our stay, the cozy new room, the delicious breakfast and healthy smoothies, not to mention the evening live music at the lobby that make this hotel worth more than 3 stars.

We stayed here as part of our hotel-hopping experience in Bangkok. We stayed at AGO Chinatown Hotel, Park Hyatt, Capella, and Four Seasons. (All reviewed separately). It was difficult to choose from the plethora of hotels in Bangkok but we selected this one based on its proximity to Chinatown and the quality of the Breakfast served. This small hotel is brand new, yet has a quaint and boutique feel. The owner has decorated the lobby with family heirlooms and antique furniture. I could tell this is a labor of love. The cosy rooms are neat and comfortable, with wood floors, new showers, and Villeroy & Boch sinks. Our room was facing the canal, not quite Venice or Amsterdam, but delightful nonetheless. I slept well on the firm bed that is typical in Asia. The highlight of our stay was their farm-to-table breakfast. The Signature Smoothie was one of the best smoothies I've ever had. It's made from fresh kale harvested from their garden, pineapple and banana. They had my favorite congee with homemade Thai dishes by a local chef. Their garden salad with sesame dressing is a must-try. They also offer gourmet coffee, cappuccino and espresso. Frankly, their breakfast alone was worth the room rate, which I feel is an absolute steal. The owner Vee was kind enough to give us a guided foot tour of the historical area adjacent to the hotel. He also recommended some amazing street food and restaurants near the hotel. We tried the best Boat Noodles, Michelin star Pad Thai, Crab Fried Rice, Shark Fin Soup (sorry animal lovers) and went to an open-air restaurant with wine, steak, and jazz music. There's also delicious Suckling Pig and street-food galore in Chinatown. This is the best hotel for Foodies in Bangkok!

Highy recommend!! The nice hotel with reasonable price and 5 stars grade amenities. Comfy bed and great shower. I love it! The staff is so friendly and helpful. Well-located which is near Subway, Yaowarat street, Talad Noi and art place. Breakfast was good and the food at Ago Cafe and Bar is also delicious. I love Fried pork cutlet with gravy and honeyed carrot so much!
