The highlights are definitely the swimming, pool, the gym, and the breakfast area around the pool. These facilities are great. The downside is the service, poorest ever! First hotel I ever stayed that does not have a hotel directories booklet in room. Called at the front desk and got hung up about eight out of ten times. The front desk officer later replied: “ sometimes we are just too busy to get the call”. Perfect. Extremely terrible housekeeping. Bottled water was not replenished the first day of housekeeping, and the second day, there was no towel at all in either of the bathrooms (stayed in the two-room suite). Housekeeping did not clean the dressing table or the kitchen sink even once throughout the 5-day stay.
The JC Kevin is well located about 10 minutes walk from Chong Nonsi BTS Skystrain which makes getting around much easier as the roads outside can sometimes be very slow by car. The staff are all very helpful. I booked a Suite and the room was large . I had a living / dining room area and balcony and bedroom area (with a huge bed) and a huge bathroom. There was also a kitchenette. I was very happy with it. My room was quiet and I would definitely book it again. The only downside to my stay was the slightly chaotic breakfast which had plenty of choice but it always seemed to be very busy and as yet post pandemic they do not seem to have enough staff. That was also a common problem with the other hotels I stayed at in Thailand and not unique to the JC Kevin. If you want to sunbathe it's best get out round the pool in the morning as by the afternoon most of the pool area is in the shade. All in all I think the JC Kevin represents excellent value for money. …
we have stayed at this hotel before under the Anantara management. Back then the service was a lot better. The staff in the breakfast area are unmotivated and hiding. you have to beg for coffee. The cook who prepares egg dishes is arrogant and mocks the guests. He is rude and indecent, sometimes using an aggressive tone. very uncomfortable. The rooms are ok. We booked a two room suite with a tommem view. The pool bar is not occupied and the customer is not looked after at all. the gentleman in the gym is very nice. Competent and helpful. He's not from the old management. The reception is unfriendly and not up to date at all. Here the guest is definitely not king. Because it's Chinese New Year, 95% of the hotel guests are Chinese. These leave the dining room like after a locust attack. The staff in the dining room has a lot of trouble with the service. Unfortunately not recommended!…
Here now, our flight was cancelled from UK so we were going to be a day late, had already paid hotel direct for 2 x double rooms so emailed them asking them to save our rooms and we will be checking in a day later. Arrived for check in to be told they only have 2 x twin rooms for us, very disappointing considering we booked direct and had informed them of our late arrivals. Hotel itself is ok, rooms a nice size and a great shower, balcony has great views but could do with a table and chair to sit on at night. The zoom bar has amazing views but it really needs upgrading, seat cushions had rips in, just looks tired. Breakfast was typical hotel buffet never had a problem finding anything to eat. Never eat in restaurant and had only 1 drink in bar, it is expensive £10 a glass of Prosecco and £8 a bottle of beer and £9 a cocktail. Location is great 10 mins walk to BTR and 4 stops to Grand Palace. All in all if I was to come to Bangkok again I don’t think I would return here.…
Stayed at this hotel many times before when it was known as the Anantara before the pandemic. I would not say the hotel is 5 stars like before, but more like 3 star hotel now. Whenever I came with my family, this was my place of choice, especially with two bedroom suite at a great price. A lot has changed! The hotel has a new owner and renamed, JC Kevin. Although it still provides a good value, quality has definitely gone down. We stayed in December during a renovation. The maintenance is poor. The handrails in almost all of the elevators are loose, almost about to fall off. The first room we were given had a strong, unpleasant smell. We were given another room on a higher floor, which was much better, but definitely the cleanliness was not quite there. Kitchen table was not clean, and our toilet seat in one of the bedrooms had to be replaced since it was loose. Some of the lampshades were broken. Stains on some of the decor pillows in the bedroom. Breakfast was still OK, nothing like it was during the Anantara days but still decent. I probably would stay again since they do have some employees that deliver great customer service notably the hotel porters. The best employee there is Mr. Tu, who has been there since it was on Anantara. Mr. Tu it’s always so helpful, and friendly. He helped us make our stay enjoyable. Mr. Tu should be a manager there since he is much more professional than some of the front registration people and provided great customer service. I give Mr. Tu 5/5 stars!…
Lovely staff and great experience. Wonderful utilities and great service. Good value for money. Highly recommend. There is a great view both from the rooms and the top floor which you can walk all the way around and see the entire city
We booked this hotel based on a friend's recommendation, and pictures on website looked decent, which was a huge mistake, as we just came back from 4 days at this hotel, and the overall experience was disappointing. Hotel location was decent, close to city center yet far enough that it was quiet, ground was well maintained, and rooms are larger than your normal hotels, but that was the end of the pros. When we entered our rooms (we booked a 2bedroom suite, and our friends booked a king bed room), immediately we noticed how dated the rooms were, carpet was dirty with old stains, master bedroom rain shower head was literally spraying all over, and the shower glass door wouldn't close completely. Faucets, door handles and anything metal were showing signs of age with rust stains. Toilet seat was lose and move to one side. We found ants on floor, and our friends found small bugs on bed, and their closet door broke off/fell out on 1st day. If I have to compare, the resort we stayed in Cuba had better rooms than this hotel, its unfortunate that the location was great but we could see how badly the building aged and literally years of neglect. The hotel would benefit from a major renovation, but I guess the owner didn't want to fork out the money. We would definitely not going back to this hotel again, doesn't matter how much it cost.…
Could do with updating, as the furniture is old and chipped and the mattresses/beds should be replaced (stains / sagging). Unfortunately, the inside of the rooms look nothing like the photos presented online. The food is not the best quality either. However, it has great potential if investment and attention to detail is made as it is in a good location.
I wouldnt recommend this hotel. To start we arrived for 2 nights after travelling round Thailand. This was our final destination before flying home and it was not an enjoyable visit. We arrived one evening and was unable to use any of the facilities in the hotel because they had a wedding near the pool area and a function on the roof terrace that they wanted to charge us an additional 1200 bhat per person to go up. Overall the place is dated. The rooms are clean put the public areas we eventually saw was dirty and not well kept. If your looking for a good location in Bangkok then this isn't for you, you need to travel far to get anywhere. At the beginning of our trip we stayed near Khaosan Road. This had plenty of life and gave you a fantastic experience of Bangkok. To name a few issues we had during our stay. - Tv didn't work - Shower only run warm - key card kept not working ( this is a pain when your on a high level and had to keep going back down to reception) - didn't have drinks available from the menu they offered. - Was made to wait to be seated for breakfast due to us not being on the list, even though we had pre paid. Overall the staff where nice but our experience of this hotel wasnt. …
I forgot to ask for my deposit back and the receptionist didn't even remind me of it when checking out. I only realised that after landing in another country and immediately email them but never got a response. This is very deceitful and I do not recommend anyone staying at jc kevin
