JC Kevin Sathorn Bangkok Hotel's rooftop bar and stunning views have received high marks from numerous guests, though some suggest that adding balcony furniture and stepping up maintenance could enhance the experience. The hotel's cleanliness generally impresses, but there's room for improvement in certain areas like the carpets. Service at the hotel is often commended for being friendly and professional, yet there have been instances of staff being unresponsive.
Opinions on value and room conditions vary, with some guests finding the rooms to be spacious and others feeling they are outdated and in need of a refresh. The location is well-regarded for its convenience to local transportation and the vibrant Silom, Sathorn area.

Detailed Reviews
Bangkok! Wow what a city! We booked our vacay through Kenwood Travel & opted for this hotel for our 2 night stay based on options, reviews and the infinity pool.
Premier rooms are good value at circa £60 a night inc b’fast but I opted for an upgrade to a one bed suite with use of the Kasara Lounge. They actually gave us a 2 bed 🤷🏼♀️ so the luggage had a home.
The room was on the 33rd floor and vast. Huge kitchen, balcony’s off of ever room (alas no balcony seating though 🤦🏼♀️) two bathrooms & robes, slippers & the like. We didn’t get turndown on our first night (no idea why) but they were super apologetic when I mentioned it next day.
It wasn’t perfect but near to. The Kasara lounge, for another £75 a night was good value serving all day soft drinks, breakfast avec a panoramic city view (it’s on the 38th floor) & cocktails & alcoholic drinks 6-8 each night. When you see the price of alcohol here you’ll know that’s a good deal! 3 drinks each will easily cover the upgrade.
Plenty of bottled water was provided in the room & complimentary, as was tangerines 🤷🏼♀️
Staff were friendly. Location wise a 15 min walk to the railway area which takes you to the river boats & the sights.
We only used the pool on our last day & it was so hot we didn’t stay for long, but it was big, clean & had waiter service.
Money tip - hotels charge +17% on all stated prices which is a sting, so be mindful.
Wood Esther Go Back? I’d love to try some other Sathorn Hotels around the world for sure, but, if I’m lucky enough to come back to Bangkok I think I’d try somewhere on the river to mix it up a little & with a rooftop pool. I would however throughly recommend it if it’s your first time to Bangkok.

We came to Bangkok as part of our trip around Thailand booked through Trailfinders. First impressoins walking through the doors were 'wow'. It is beautiful, with lovely waterful type lights hanging from the ceiling, large foyer and very welcoming staff behind the front desk. Very attentive consierge took our bags and we were shown to our room quickly, nice to have a speedy check in after the long flight. The room was lovely, so spacious and extremely clean. Mattress on the bed was a little bit too firm but sheets were light and clean, the bathroom was lovely with a huge waterfall shower cubicle and deep bathtub. The room service staff at this hotel have to get a special mention. They cleaned the room thouroughly every day, even folding any clothes we had left out. They also renewed our towles each day and made towel animals each time. They were amazing, we had towel bunnies in the bathroom and towel giraffes, elephants and even a turtle and armidillo once arranged in different scenes on the bed every day. It became a surprise we looked forward to each day.
We were all inclusive and the food options in the dining hall are amazing. so much fresh fruit, typical continental breakfast but also such a lovely selection for a good fry up. They also have a noodle soup station where they cook the noodles fresh in front of you and you pick your added veg and spices. It was so amazing i had it nearly every morning. The juice selections are so varied, even having papaya, guava, coconut etc among the normal juices. There was just so much to choose from. And the pool was awesome with concktails by the pool that were so tasty.
Honestly the best hotel i've ever been to. The only unfortunate thing is that it is out of the way as its in the financial district so not many attractions or places to visit around. But the tuk tuk services and taxis and so plentiful and the front desk will arrange any travel arrangements for you so not too much of a bother. Its also very close to Lumpini park which i highly reccomend for a peaceful walk in nature.

Delightful.
Chose to upgrade to a suite which was very comfortable. Staff were sublime, breakfast wonderful and the hotel and facilities were on point.
Location:
Very good. A short walk into central Bangkok and to Sathorn BTS station for the Sky Train. Street food all the way along and the usual massage shops and supermarkets. Also, Grab (SE Asia Uber equivalent had bo problem getting to the hotel to pick us up - you should def have the Grab app and a card linked to it on your phone imo).
Facilities:
Sky Bar is wonderful on the 50th (ish) floor with 360deg views of Bangkok - you realise the Anantara is one of the taller buildings in the area.
There is a nice pool given you are in central Bangkok! The gym if you are inclined is pretty substantial - cross trainers, treadmills, bikes, multigym and free weights; including a small dojo with Thai boxing lessons and punch bag for some boxfit.
Rooms:
Can't comment on anything other than a suite, but it was generous compared to other hotels that are central and in large cities.
Breakfast:
One of the best we have had for an international hotel; caters for european/ western and asian diets.
...we are a veggie and a vegan, and it was never a thing. Always choices.
Staff:
Exquisite. I say this knowing it is the same at most higher end hotels, but not always. The staff at the Anan Sathorn are a credit to them.
Pricing:
From memory, we bought breakfast when we arrived, prior to checking in, it was approx. 1000baht for the 2 of us.
Drinks at the Sky Bar were approx. a tenner per cocktail. Worth sitting up there and having a couple, and just as expensive at any other rooftop bar imo.
Lastly, there is a nice little bar on the way into town called Sarah Jane's. Turn left out of the hotel and 200m on your left you will find it. It's like sitting in a little mangrove/ jungle bar, reasonably priced, you always get a good reception too and you wouldn't know you were yards away from a busy road. We had a few beers in there too/ from the hotel. Food is decent, but I am advicating a bottle of Chang not necessarily a wonderful meal (though plenty of locals, tourist and Japanese business people ate in there when we visited).

Sub standard rooms not clean quite dirty and tired.
Breakfast catering for the masses, you have to wait at least 10 to 15 minutes for a table at breakfast due to them not having a restaurant with enough tables to cater for all guests.
Location is so so however there are a lot of building works going on outside the hotel which was a major disturbance throughout my stay.
Wouldn’t return better hotels for a better price at over 150gbp per night you really would expect better value and service from the anantara brand which until now was one of my favourite hotel groups.

I generally only write reviews when I feel like so need to warn people to steer clear!
This hotel is terrible. I am an Australian living in Thailand. I travel to Bangkok most weekends and have stayed in many hotels across Bangkok.
The star rating of this dated, musty smelling and poorly run establishment needs reviewing. The rooms are dated, they smell and they are more like old apartments rather than a nice fresh hotel room.
Upon arrival I was asked for payment, I handed over my card and was moments from being charged when I remembered I had already paid. So they were about to charge me twice...I told them I’d paid and a phone call was made by the person checking me in.
They then said to me I had not paid at which point I had to show my online bank transactions. They then got back on the phone and after a 20 minute ordeal agreed I had paid. It was quite unprofessional, embarrassing and certainly not the kind of service I would receive at an actual 5 star hotel.
Most items are not in the room but available upon request which is inconvenient.
I received bar snacks with my beer at the bar in the lobby that were stale.
I went to make a cup of tea and the kettle had been used to cook noodles in it. It smelled disgusting.
A far cry from a 5 star hotel. Price of the rooms does not reflect the establishment.
Stay elsewhere, this hotel is absolutely awful.

The hotel is very nice & kept very clean. I wouldn't call it luxury, the rooms are big but our room was a little 'tired' and could do with some touch ups.
We arrived after 24 hrs travelling at approx 11am and were told our room wuldn't be ready until 2, maybe 1, possible 12 but they couldnt promise anything - this left us frustrated as we really didn't want to sit around waiting on a maybe. They could give us a suite for an extra cost though! We learned after from speaking with other couples that this is a bit of an upselling tactic in alot of the hotels - this really started the trip on the worng note for me, as the couples said if we had waited around we definitely would have gotten into the room shortly after arriving. However as we didn't know this and took them at their word, we headaed out to MBK for a couple of hours to kill time. We were exhausted and needed showers after travelling and it was not the way to see Bangkok for the first time.
The lobby bar seems to open and close whenever it feels like it, we went for a drink on our first night at 10.45 and were told it closes at 11 so they had already closed the til (15 minutes early!)? There really isn't much atmosphere in the hotel so its definitely a base for your trip as opposed to a destination.
The breakfast is fine, all the usuals, a large spread but everything tastes pretty average.

Had a wonderful 3 nights stay here in December, the room was plenty big enough with toiletries provided, hair drier, bath robes and slippers, and even a iron. The choice at breakfast was amazing ,so much to choose from. the staff were so welcoming ,and made sure you were well looked after. If i had to make one small complaint, the fact was ,we had a balcony to look over the city, but they do not provide you with any furniture or outside light, which would have been ideal to sit and have a drink in the evening or read, or just to relax.but would certainly stay there again.

+1
We stayed here for 8 nights and couldn't find a fault with anything. The staff were great, the food was great and our room was lovely, big, clean and spacious. From the check in staff to the room cleaner every single member of staff were so friendly and welcoming.
Our room was fantastic, we were on the 11th floor so had a great view of the city. The bed was comfy and the room was spacious including the bathroom. We had breakfast downstairs every morning and it was a feast, they had everything you could imgaine for breakfast. We also eat a meal at 100 East and Zoom which were all amazing. The hotel itself has a large pool offering towels and pool service as well which we took full advantage off. The hotel is also right near the centre of Bangkok, it's a 5 minute walk away from the BTS Sky Train station which can get you to any part of the city.
We would most certainly stay at this hotel again

We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights for our honeymoon. On arrival we were offered a free upgrade to a balcony room which overlooks the pool and the city. The staff offered refreshing drinks on arrival. The room was very neat and tidy. The bathroom provides standard toiletries. Good WiFi connection throughout the stay. Breakfast had lots of fresh with lots of variety. We had a dinner once at the hotel and the food was fantastic!
The rooftop bar has great 360 views around the city. But you do have to buy a drink to stay there for the sunset.
We would definitely like to come back at some point.
